March 2023. Just built my Redwood. My headset was too tight, and my rear caliper was slightly misaligned. I had to adjust the pads on the front brake, very easy with there Tektro units. I have two extra bolts in the brake disk bolt bag. They appear to be derailleur hanger bolts, but the hanger already had bolts attached, so they remain a mystery. Everything else seemed perfect.
I inflated the tires to 40psi, higher than most people might do but smack in the middle of the Kendas' range. I was 2.4 miles into bedding in the brakes, having a very nice time and enjoying my new ride, when I had a sudden and very loud blowout of the front tire. I was only going about 10 mph and was within a few hundred yards of my house. No apparent damage to the rim or tire. I took pictures of the destroyed tube and emailed Poseidon with this news. I'll follow up regarding their response.
EDIT: Follow-up. Poseidon had a replacement tube on its way to me within an hour. Great customer service!

Always good to see a step-by-step bike build regardless of brand or type of bike; many steps are the same regardless of the type of bike. This one has lots of helpful tips to fine tune the setup, and some to make things easy that didn't specifically get mentioned, like putting the chain on the smallest cog when installing the rear wheel (I've never had a stand so I install the seat & bars, flip it over on a towel & install the wheels, derailer; it ain't pretty but it works :). Good call about checking in w/your local bike shop later. Thanks! 👍🏻

Great video. I have built two Redwood (both size large) and both required a rotor shim (in the rear) in order to move the rotor out a few millimeters. I have never needed to do this with any other bike build. I adjusted caliper on the frame, cable tension and both the inbound and outbound adjustments for each piston. Even with all of those adjustments maxed out in favor of correcting an inner pad rub, in the end I needed to shim the rotor out. Perhaps Poseidon can include (with their bikes) a free rotor shim in case it is needed.

for the money this is probably the best value gravel bike out there, a little heavy some say but what's heavy nowadays, with a few upgrades you will be planning your bikepacking tours before long

Really Liking my redwood that I just Assembled today no problems really except for the fact that the tubes don’t have removable valve cores I you can’t put sealant in them, other than that A-OK.

Note: the derailier has your rear thru axle threading. It may help to Leave it loose enough for you to play with it some and correctly thread the axel.
When tightened down, I couldn't get my rear axle to thread properly, and nearly had to take it in before I found this tip on reddit.

My Redwood finally arrived and just set it up using your video (:
Brakes took some patience to adjust correctly. But conquered nonetheless!
Other than that I had to do minor adjustments to the shifter cable. The cable was routed on the wrong side so I had to cut/press new cable ends.
After some tinkering everything looked good. Took her out for a spin and warmed up the brakes. Feeling pretty spongy but I already bought a new brake line housing per your recommendation!
Tires & wheels definitely have some weight to them. And tread is pretty aggressive. Guess it just means to ride some trails and get off the road!
Also ergonomics are funky. I’m 5’11 and got a Large. Stand over fit fine for me but it’s the distance from saddle to handle bar that feels a little cramped. Don’t see how I could ride aggressively with this bike and really lean. I guess that’s not really the point in a gravel bike though.
Any suggestions to help with this? Maybe an off center seat post? Is that even a thing? LOL

The flat bar paint job looks much nicer. Pity about the brakes being mechanical. What is the weight?

Sad to see that they keep the traditional break housing

It would be awesome to find more gallery images of the different color options so I can better decide which color to get. on the actual website, images aren't very clear and was curious if you knew a better place to go and see more images/gallery for a better representation of each color option.

4:19 Wait, the 2022 Redwood now comes with allen key thru-axles (instead of QR)? Also, thanks for the tip on the 2mm nut at 5:01, I wonder why mine kept falling out!

While watching this video I ran a price check on the Poseidon Redwood. Shocked to see $950. That's a lot of bicycle for the money. There are reasonable price point options not everybody's on a $6,000 gravel bike.

I’m highly interested in purchasing this bike then mixing in my own parts. Specifically my old Mtn bike wheels. They’re 142x12 rear but 100x9 front (the old quick release standard) but these are actually a Hadley hub with a through bolt attachment. I can source a tapered rigid fork with 100x9 but they’re almost the same price as this complete build. Do you think they will offer a model with 100x9 fork? A few companies still do but I’d rather get a Poseidon

I doubt they'll produce a 100x9 qr version, but you can easily tinker around with different forks
