    Improve your ability to find and recall double stops and intervals HORIZONTALLY across the neck with this golden exercise! Guitar players are typically very good at travelling vertically, but if you want to be able to break free from boxes, this is something that you must try!

    ABOUT ME
    ﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋
    Hey! My name is Darryl Syms, and uh, well, I play guitar! I mean, I do a bunch of other cool things too - hopefully you can get to know me a little bit more through some of my videos.
    On this channel, I predominantly post instructional videos to help inspire and encourage like-minded guitar players. My goal is to help you expand your musical vocabulary, to broaden your understanding of music, and to entertain. There are already thousands of guitar related videos out there, but I try to set my videos apart from the usual by exploring a modern approach, and by simply being myself! 💁♂️
    Other than music, I have many other passions such as surfing, snowboarding, nutrition, advocating a vegan and sustainable lifestyle, yoga, photography, and a mixture of other things. Maybe you're interested in checking out my website: www.darrylsyms.com ✌️
    I hope you enjoy what I have to offer, and I look forward to growing as a musician with you!
    Thanks so much for reading! 💜

      @DarrylSyms  2 года назад +1

      Yeah this is much more advanced then the first lesson you checked out 😉 Search for “Darryl Syms Intervals” and maybe you’ll find some more cool stuff 👌 The best thing you could do to save you time and avoid you from sifting through countless videos of bla bla is to join me on my website Fretwise. My CAGED Masterclass is all about intervals and will literally change your whole perception of the guitar beyond what you can imagine 👀🔥

      @@DarrylSyms Thanks Darryl, it's good, I have check marked in lesson enough of your vids for now hehe I also got a book and a good simple video of the circle of fifths to learn what chords go toghetter well . it's a lot of work when you work hard like me, the hardest part is to find time and or the energie to take the time to learn all the theory, it's not the same for every one. wich I were 16 again lol. As you get older the motivation is not always there. I would like to tell you Mateus is cool to watch play like that and impressive BUT do I want to listen to that in my car? sure but not every song will be great, good old rock compositions mixed in are what people catch on to most for example Steeler 1983 with Yngwie Malmsteen I love lately, it's his first album when he got to the US and his best lol he has never done better after that, for my taste anyway. it has great solos but not to much flash all in all , check out if you want Steve Marriott, Joe walch, Tommy Bolin, Ronni Monstrose, Rick Berringer, Paul Butterfield those guys were the best in does days. I'm just trying to help and say that I do love what you do, it's amazing how your pinky finger goes on the right notes all the time hahaha but that mixed with rock and blues could be the next Zepplin or kiss :) just need a good singer/song writter or nevermind just do what you love lol I'm like wanting to see you in this huge rock band hahaha. Let me know when you get a band toghetter. cheers and thanks again for the lessons you are a great teacher big love from Canada Québec :)

    Hey Darryl, is that a custom neck or what year is your RG? It looks like Birdseye maple, maybe you just have really good camera but the neck looks unique!

    • @DarrylSyms
      @DarrylSyms  2 года назад +1

      I guess you could kinda say it’s custom 🤷‍♂️ It’s a stock neck, but I stripped it so it feels better (but this ages/discolours - I like that). The discolouration probably gives it that “custom” look 😋

    Good man dyads/double stops definitely a fairly overlooked tool for having a form foundation that can be built on. If things like this aren't firmly and completely grasped then all the following will have gaps in understanding and usage. Just look how amazing badasses like Asato and Sharkey are with them though I think Isaiah uses more notes than double stops most times for his speedy chordal lines Mateus kills those double stops. Aho amigo!

    • @michaelcraig9449
      @michaelcraig9449 Год назад

      They are not overlooked in any way. Every guitarist uses them.

    You’re a great guitarist but I can’t tell where you are from at all. You sound kinda English, Australian and a bit American all at once. Great vid tho
