    Btw since you love Claudia so much and doesn't know about the source book: unfortunately Claudia cannot not die in this story. IWTV (the novel) is written by Anne Rice after she lost her 6-yr old daughter to Leukemia. Claudia is inspired by her daughter. She's Louis, her husband is Lestat (Lestat's name should have been Lestan, from her husband Stan Rice, but she made a typo). And just like Michelle's, Claudia's death will haunt and change Louis and Lestat the rest of their undead lives. IWTV is ultimately about grief and failures of parents.

    Exactly, I believe Least did try to stop it. If you remember Armond said in the 70s that Least could come chasing after them again, if he he was trying to kill Louis he wouldn't be still chasing him. Least wouldn't have cared if Louis was hurt. I didn't believe that Least beat Louis the way they showed in season 1. Because if they were alone for 7 years and Louis kept refusing Least, Least could have S/A Louis beat Louis before then. If he stayed all those years and he never once harm Louis.

      the dv we saw between lestat and louis was literally from claudia's journal. nothing changed about the fight scene. they just showed us what happened what from we didn't see in season 1. they didn't show us what happened between them in the room and now they did. and he still dropped louis from the sky. we have no reason to believe it didn't happen. and lestat literally admitted it.

      Yes, it was from Claudia's diaries, but the way in which Louis framed it was that Least just over powered Louis and beat him to a pulp. It clearly didn't happen that way, Louis in fact was being the aggressor. Louis was threatening Lestats, Least in fact was doing everything to not fight with Louis. He said to Louis I'm trying to restrain myself. He didn't want to hit Louis. Louis kept talking smack and saying stuff like he was going to cut his head off and feed it to the lions. Just as he did said to Armond back in the 70s, and it wasn't the drugs, it was Louis true feelings coming to the surface. The drugs just allowed him to speak unfiltered. Even as Least sat on the floor face all bloody he didn't care if Louis beat on him, he was willing to accept that just to have Louis stay. That really sad, I wanted to cray for Least, he just wanted someone to love him so badly that he was willing to be abused.

Recall when Santiago picked up Claudia's diary up out of the rat ben and said, thanks for the kind words you said about me. She asked, how do you know what I wrote and he told her he read it just then, writing fun of her. We don't know what powers these ancient vampires hold. And why won't Armond change things to keep Louis under his spell, and it's not like Louis read her diaries until she was gone, and whom do you think he got them from. I believe Armond set the whole thing up.

    Yeah, Louis develops claustrophobia after his experience with the rocks and coffin... Some other fans think that that's why they don't have coffins in Dubai... I mean it could obviously just be because technology has advanced and stuff. And so the windows can have sun protection like they do now.
    But I definitely agree with the people saying that it's potentially due to Louis' claustrophobia that he won't sleep in a coffin anymore in current day.

      @cullenarthur8879 3 месяца назад

      I've noticed that part of the story is inconsistent. The coffin part. So all they really need is a darkened room? You don't need technology for that. That means all vampires have needed this whole time is a dark place to sleep. I never understood why a coffin was necessary. What makes a coffin anyways? Would any big box work? How about a closet?
      Good point about Louis claustrophobia. That is probably why he doesn't sleep in a coffin.

    • @AnxietyRat
      @AnxietyRat 3 месяца назад

      @@cullenarthur8879 yeah, I think they just have to be away from direct sunlight in the darkness. I think coffins were used because of tradition, IMO... And to further nail down that they are undead.... Because yeah there's literally NOTHING special about the coffins they're just regular coffins that humans use. 🤷‍♀️... Other than when they got special ones that lock from the inside.... They just need to hide from the sunlight. Which is why when they don't have a coffin they bury themselves under the ground. It's not the coffin that necessarily protects them they just need ANYTHING that will completely protect them from sunrays. So a closet probably could work if it didn't have any cracks to let light in!...which isn't how most doors work.... But if they found a special door ... It would work.
      I don't really see it as an inconsistency. It's a thing in a bunch of different vampire lore... And absolutely is a thing within Ann's books. As far as I understand it... The coffins aren't special...and vampires use OTHER methods to hide from the sun when they don't have coffins in the books, from what book readers have told me.

    • @AnxietyRat
      @AnxietyRat 3 месяца назад

      @@cullenarthur8879 also to answer your what makes a coffin... a coffin question... Coffins are technically kind of protective, in modern-day anyway. Sometimes they can be airtight with a seal. But even before those modifications they probably were still seen as protective of the body rather than just putting the body in a shroud in a hole... Do I think that's why vampire lore evolved to see coffins as protective against the sun because they do kind of slightly protect a dead body... From like bugs and shit ...I don't know. The logic just makes sense to me. Probably any old box would work. But coffins and caskets are usually specific sizes and shapes. So they are ✨special✨ boxes for dead bodies... That's really all they are. And they're just deeply associated with death in our society.... And so it makes sense that there's a connection between coffins and vampires because vampires are connected to death within society as well. 🤷‍♀️ In my opinion it isn't a random societal connection... The connection makes sense.... Idk just my thoughts about it.

    • @Kirby-gu1lf
      @Kirby-gu1lf 3 месяца назад

      @@AnxietyRat it's funny I used to think vampires automatically will need sleep during the day in addition to protection from sun. That does not seem like enough though.

Broken people do not make good lifetime partners. PERIOD. Also, Lestat understood the inherent cruelty of creating a child vampire, having never grown into a semblance of humanity and only having the vampire instincts to direct one's behavior and perspective. To never have the adult things in life because you are trapped in a prison not of your making. Lestat was in the right and was being compassionate, amazingly. I love that you took issue the spoon. I mean, with all the murder, gore and disturbing things we saw, it shouldn't be a big deal, but it is, isn't it? I find this "civilized" blood drinking the hardest to watch, I actually felt a bit nauseous with these scenes. There is something very unsettling about the gross act of drinking human blood being delivered in such a mundane, "clean" and superficially dignified manner.

    It didn't take Lestat twenty years to apologize for dropping Louis. He had been apologizing the whole time they separated after that. Don't you remember all the gifts and apologies he sent Louis for years after? That's one of the things I dislike about Claudia. Lestat was giving a heartfelt, emotional apology to Louis, going off script in front of the whole coven and audience, and Claudia is in Louis ear telling him not to accept it, that it's too late. She has always tried to turn Louis against Lestat. She manipulated Louis into attempting to murder his love. If it weren't for Louis, Claudia would have burned him.

      Even Lestat said in this episode that he did not deserve Louis' forgiveness. Even Sam Reid said in a new interview that Lestat did something unforgivable to Louis! Claudia was trying to get her parent away from an abusive partner. What so dislikable about that? If my dad was abusing my mum AND me, I would try to get her away from him too. And she didn't have to manipulate anything, Louis had enough of Lestat the moment he found out he was still banging Antoinette.

      @@klowwwww Lestat knew that what he had done was unforgivable. He wasn't asking for forgiveness, he wanted Louis to know that he loved him and that he was truly sorry. Claudia couldn't have that. I don't think she thought that they would make up and run off together at that point. She just couldn't even let them have that moment of understanding and closure. She was always in Louis ear telling him to leave Lestat. Lestat had been there for Louis for seven years while Claudia fucked off and left Louis heartbroken. Yes, he had a lover on the side, but who could blame him? Louis only threw insults and vitriol at him, when he spoke to him at all. If anything, Lestat was being abused by Louis at that point. But, Lestat stayed by him. And then Ms. Claudia strolls in after seven years and tells Louis he should leave Lestat. She wasn't a child. She knew damn well what that would do to Lestat. Like Lestat said during the "trial", she sensed the fragility in their relationship, and like a good predator, went in for the kill.

      @@cullenarthur8879 What? Louis never abused Lestat, if anything he DESERVED everything Louis did to him and even that wasn't enough, even Lestat accepts this in the trial, he was a shitty abusive cheating partner and you expected Louis to just take it all in to prove he loved him? And Claudia wanted Louis to leave with her and he didn't accept it, she was tired of seeing Lestat being awful and Louis being blinded by love therefore she left I mean who wouldn't have? It's not like she did it selfishly she wanted to live her life and Lestat couldn't even let her do that because that's just how awful he was. Claudia and Louis were 100% victims of Lestat not otherwise and like I said before he accepted this, why is it so hard for some viewers to also accept it? Why do you wanna make him look like a victim so bad when he never was and he HIMSELF knows he wasn't?

    • @cullenarthur8879

      @@gemalost5377 Louis said himself in the first season that during the period Claudia took off, he took cheap pleasure in provoking and being shitty to Lestat. When he wasn't ignoring him completely, he was taking shots at him and insulting him. That's called emotional abuse. If Lestat were a woman, and Louis were treating her like that, everyone would be calling Louis abusive and calling for Lestat to leave him. Lestat stuck with him through all of it. All Louis was interested in doing was trying to find Claudia, and completely ignored Lestat. Then, like I said, Claudia comes walking in with some half ass apology and tries to get Louis to leave the man who stood by him the whole time she was gone. A man she knows has serious abandonment issues. She always knew exactly how to stick in the knife and turn. People seem to want to make Claudia some kind of hero, they forget all the shitty, psychotic things she did. She collected parts from her victims as trophies, wrote down their last words for her own amusement, and kept half dead people in her closet. Even for a vampire she was sadistic.

      @cullenarthur8879 I won't entertain this for too long because you're too obtuse to understand but all of this is making me think you're trying to make Louis and Lestat's relationship sound like it was "mutually abusive" when first of all mutual abuse does not exist, nor in real life and for sure not in fiction. Louis is a very flawed character and yes he did bad things but he was more neglective towards Claudia and in a way is also responsible for her fate (hell Claudia wouldn't even be a vampire if he didn't beg Lestat to turn her out of guilt and desperation) but you will never convince me he was "emotionally abusing" Lestat, he was depressed because his daughter left because of him and Lestat. Also, I never said Claudia was a hero, no one in this show/books is, Claudia was just a girl who got turned into a vampire against her will and was just trying to live her life, none of her actions were out of selfishness or manipulation, she LOVED Louis and wanted to save him from Lestat but when she realized it was in vain she left to try to live her life somewhere else but was later forced back by Lestat...if you had someone you love who is in a toxic relationship and you tried to make them see that would you call that manipulation or simply trying to save someone you care for? That's what Claudia tried but failed (twice). Lestat's past trauma and abandonment issues do not excuse the way he treated Louis and Claudia, Lestat was a victim in his past then later became the perpetrator and Louis and Claudia were his victims, period.

    In terms of visuals, I'm not a big fan of the sun effect in this show. The dust/ash looks and sounds like sand, and it's a bit weird how it flies off their body. This may just be a personal bias, but I prefer how it was done in the movie (which was faithful to the book). Once Lestat escapes the coffin, he finds Claudia and Madeline imprisoned in a room with no roof -- except he doesn't find them, he finds piles of grey ash that look perfectly like them, because their bodies had instantly turned to ash (with Madeline holding Claudia like a mother holding a child). He touches them, and the ash falls apart in his hands. Their murders were also a lot more sudden in the book, with a lot less foreshadowing (or I was too young to notice it, lol), so it was all VERY shocking. I read the whole book in a single night I think, and I was shambling around the next day, very sad and also very tired 😆
