For me this song is about people, who try to hide their pain from others and themselves, who are used to suffering on their own. I have this problem myself and now I try to break out.
I have C-PTSD, which is like PTSD, but with the complex part of it being prolonged abuse. I hide my emotions often times, and it's difficult to open up to a bunch of people. My family, my close friends, even some of my coworkers know I'm dealing with surges of stress from what I've been through.
