Looks like you bagged yourself a bargain there buddy, the photos of the church and the eagle were my favourites. Thanks for sharing.

That shot of the church is badass. Nice stuff man, I gotta get over to BK Film Camera one of these weekends

I loved those images! Earthy is a great way to describe it. I agree with Lou, I loved the colors of the church shot - the bird silhouette comes in a close second. I also gotta check out that film shop next time I'm in town.

I've got one more roll of the stuff in my fridge. I'm curious to see how it's going to turn out

They all turned out pretty good. Except the one that was of the hill & water picture. But all in all not bad.
My favorite one was of the bird & church.
Keep practicing. It will get better,
    Chris from Missouri

Great hike and awesome photos. Thanks for the tip on DX code hacking. I would love to shoot more expired film, but because I don't develop my own film, I just feel guilty having to justify spending money on processing and scanning a mystery roll. I have an undated 120 roll of "panchromatic" film that I want to try, but am a bit wary, but your video is definitely inspirational and is pushing me towards making that leap

Looking at the results, he probably should not have over exposed the film by one stop.

Hi, do you have any recommendations on where to get already used film from late 80's early 90's developed? My 86 yr old father gave me some of his old cameras that he no longer wanted and I think 2 of them still had film in them. Hopefully they are still good.

I would suggest googling "film lab" or "film processing" in your town. If you find a place, just give them a call and let them know the situation.
Whether they are able to develop the film will depend on what type of film it is, but there is a good chance they'll be able to.
If they can, just be prepared for some really funky looking photos. Lol
Film sitting that long can change so they won't look as crisp and clear as new film.

I shoot outdated film all the time as when I bought a load for my Local Freelance work suddenly it was all 'Digital Files only' wanted but I scanned film then all the work stopped so was left with film which went outdated ! Luckily it was stored in Fridge and Freezer. I have been GIVEN a load of outdated film -- the first batch was 'Badly Stored'-- especially the 'Truprint 200 and 400' which I had to dump . Terrible FOG LEVEL and even at 25 ASA the 200 was 'thin' and useless. The SECOND batch WAS FREEZER stored and all good ! 'Chromogenic' film goes 'Green' if badly stored as it is a 'Dye' image but you can de-saturate on scans to B&W.

That's great that you got a batch that was stored well. In a lot of cases, it can be almost as good as shooting new film.

So expired film still can be use?

    • @JacobCarlson
      @JacobCarlson  3 года назад

Definitely! But it does depend on how it was stored and how old it actually is. If it's not been stored in a refrigerator or if it's REALLY old, there's a chance it will be unusable or have some really major changes to the way it looks
