This was my favorite 1 on 1 joint, Essence got their man this night. Funk was on point this night. Classic Maverick Room show. I need this 1 here family.
Sugar Hill screwed over ALL their artists even, Trouble Funk, who ended up signing with Sugar Hill. Trouble Funk (don't have the rights) to none of their songs including Drop Bomb, Pump Me Up, Hey Fellas.....
Whoever was playing that synthesizer is extraordinary ..it made this version of the one on one sound well crafted …Rare Essence of Se Dc will always be in my hall of fame ….77 to 1981 were my cherished years listening to them on memorex @ tdk P.A Cassette tapes …I still possess them all as clear as a record ..lol
I bought this from KINGOFTHEGOGOBEATS and the whole tape is crystal clear. If KINGOFTHEGOGOBEATS put "Doing Da Do" and ya'll hear Jungle Boogie and White Boy their solo parts on "Doing Da Do" you'll be like whoa..Go-Go was really cranking.....At 44yrs old I still love this performance from R.E. my 10yr old even like it. RE turned down a record deal with sugarhill b/c they wanted to keep it right here...RE knew they were too good to go to NYC.
Marky Scotty and Godfather got there man that night if you know Bones of Simple City Crew you Know were to find him he standing down in front of them 3 of the best keyboard player in go go Rare Essence for life love y'all 💯💯💯

Do you here lil Benny
He don't rap like this no more. He trying to fit in the younger crowd. He already original. Just stick to this / that his original flow.
You get to hear the legend Jaz Funk (SE DC) tell the legendary Sugar Hill records we don't need you. They didn't either. #classic
