    I bought several of these after learning about them on your Channel a few years ago. I have 2 of these but they included the hight extension. One fell and it still blows air and I can turn the knob to increase or reduce speed but not to power it off. I have to unplug it. I don’t mind the white noise. Living in an apartment I prefer it because I can’t hear my neighbors but can hear everything in my home. I get tickled by people who are super annoyed by white noise. It’s great to help with sleep too. I notice they circulate very well. Direct blowing can get pretty cool. I direct them up higher and I can feel the air blowing back and moving throughout the room. I have 2 in one room blowing high and opposite each other so likely why I feel good air movement. Been using them for 3 years with no issues. I have a small one and another larger one that sits on the floor. Was just thinking the other day about getting another one to replace the small one and put the small one in my office. Thank you for recommending this brand. I’ve been very happy with them so far. I’ve never had them serviced but probably should.

    These are the best circulators I’ve ever used. Last I checked this model is still in production. The 783 today is on a larger stand and the 723 is the same thing but as a floor model. Speaking of warranties they’re replacing my three year old model 530. A really good model considering it’s not a DC version. Months back I got a 693DC and it’s absolutely fantastic! I also stopped by to let you know since I accidentally stumbled upon your channel I’ve been back on and off and I love watching some of the work you perform. One day I’ll get some more content on my channel but feel free to drop by! Happy New Year mister Jordan!

      Thanks, I'm glad you enjoy the videos. I like these fans, but I've become less and less fond of them over the years. They were top notch quality in the 90s, but the ones made today just seem overpriced to me. The motors are a far cry from they used to be.

    • @spikesurge83
      @spikesurge83 2 года назад +1

      @@JordanU You’re not wrong on the quality part concerning the motors. I’m waiting on a replacement model 530 because it was spinning slower. I’ve also had two DC models replaced and in some cases Vornado will let you choose something else as a replacement.

      @spikesurge83 2 года назад +1

      @@JordanU Well two of the three DC models I’ve been in possession of suffered from extreme squeaky sounds for 693 DC is holding up well I had one of their DC tower fans it was great until it started making a loud squeak then I have a 6803 DC and I have the same problem but the 693 DC is holding up well in fact it’s the best one I’ve had from them so far and I run that sucker 24/7 sometimes.

      @@spikesurge83 Vornado just isn't worth the trouble to me anymore. If I need a modern fan I'll buy the Lasko ones, and when it locks up I'll just oil it myself. I don't have the time to be dealing with customer service and making claims, etc.

    I took my 783 apart to clean the whole thing, including the rear grill--I thought removing the motor would be easy. Not so much.
    My big problem now is that the coil spring that puts tension on the swivel mount just fell out before I could snap a picture, I have no idea how to put it back together when it comes to that spring.
    If you find time to do a complete teardown and re-assemble, I could really use a hand putting this thing back together properly, brother, I think you're the man to do it! There's absolutely nothing available online that includes that spring and bracket assembly on the back of the unit.

    • @AxeMurderer1983

      I fixed it. I guess I'm pretty smart, after all 😂. took a few hours. It's both an incredibly simple but also painfully un-obvious technique. perhaps a video from you about this would be helpful for others, all the same.

    Do you think the short spin-down time could be attributed to the weight of the blade?

    • @Kidd-nq4fg
      @Kidd-nq4fg 2 года назад

      Not weight but pitch which equals more air resistance.

    • @JordanU
      @JordanU 2 года назад +1

      Probably both; it's not that heavy and there is a lot of air resistance.

    Good video bro i have a ton of them also i have the 279 flat panel box fan and it has a longer spin down time its an old new stock and it has the older motor its from 2001-2002 they still sell them today on amazon however vornado no longer makes that model they do however have the 270 which is the new model of the 279 i never understood why vornado have there model numbers backwards that don't make sense i enjoyed the video.

    I bought one Vornado the 660. It was almost locked up when i got it and Vornado wanted me to cut cord off, take pics of the cord cut and model number and then sent a new one. I thought WTH this is a waste, so I took it apart and it was dry as a bone, oiled and put new cord on it and it is brand new. They wanted me to throw it in the garbage.. Screw that, we have enough waste.. they don't take them back apparently!

    • @JordanU
      @JordanU 2 года назад

      That's exactly what I would have done myself. A total waste indeed, goes to show just how greedy and wasteful these companies have become. I believe Lasko/AirKing has the same warranty policy.
      Years ago I believe Vornado had you ship back the entire unit and they would REPAIR it, not just throw it out. How times have changed.
