  • This tune has always been a favourite. It has such a joyous defiance, an invincible spirit. I tried to find a definitive version but there seem to be so many variations of the melody. In the end I just went for how I remembered it (rightly or wrongly!) having learned it as a teenager. My mate Rory Dempsey joins me on double bass. Making videos is still new to me. I havent mastered the art of flattering camera angles or not pulling dumb/grumpy faces!

    Lovely! Enjoyed that v much. And good to see an older Olivia too - I have one Roger made for me a few years ago, and v nice it is too.

      I'm not 100% sure how old mine is but I think it was built in 1980. I bought s/h about 10 years ago.

    Lovely. Is that the standard Touchstone mandolin?

      @@jamesfloyd8504 Thanks! It’s the signature Touchstone mandolin with rosewood back and sides. It’s a bit louder and more punchy than the standard imo
