“One [candidate] was Tablo and the other was RM. But the reason I didn’t ask Tablo and went straight to RM was because I thought that Namjoon would do a good job. And he had a very firm stance too. When we discussed this song, and when he asked what the theme was, I just sent him the lyrics [verse 1]. And I told him to write whatever comes to his mind. And he said, "if it doesn’t work out, you can get someone else to write it". … At first, he seemed to feel burdened. … He asked if it was OK for someone with vested rights to talk about such things. And I told him that he could write that in his lyrics. … *The lyrics turned out really well. "A round nail stuck in a square hole". Wow, this is something that only Kim Namjoon could write. I was amazed when I read the lyrics. I thought that he did a really good job. And that I did a good job in asking him. That’s what I thought.” - Yoongi a.k.a. SUGA a.k.a. Agust D [V LIVE]*
btw, Tablo as the other possible featuring for this song makes so much sense!!! i recommend Tablo's Lesson 2 and Lesson 5 with subs, that song is so so so hard and political. I'm curious of what could've been Strange like with Tablo, but really, this song is a masterpiece. I always say this when the opportunity is there lol, but Epik High and Tablo are such a big influence in BTS specially rapline. I wish there was more reactions to them.
I thought it was funny that Yoongi was impressed by the round nail in a square hole lyric. It's a common English expression, so I assumed Namjoon borrowed it from English, and Yoongi had never heard it before. Don't worry Namjoon, we won't tell on you. It's hard to impress Yoongi! Lol
Yoongi x Namjoon is just a great combo. Like they'll really be talking abt real shts that will slap you on the face like daammmn! Yoongi, the criticizer of the world, and Namjoon, the analyzer of the world.
“There is no answer, that’s the answer”, that stuck with me bc dealing with what’s happening with the present, how we’re being discriminated because of the color of skin, and how most of the cops and citizens feeling against us POCs is being showcased. It makes me think of the old saying “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks” your not born with a mind that controls you to hate a certain race your taught that from a young age and you brain adapts to that so much that instead of solving the situation the RIGHT way they solve it the way they know how and sometimes what they know can ruin people’s lives.
my parent, well.. hate certain of race, and taught me since a kid that I need to be picky with certain people.. good lord I grew up well and still not talk to them anymore dunno how many years now :) we all have a choice, we have choices, I choose to teach my own self.
*"Money is the root of all evil"* money doesn't make anyone happy, no matter how much amount you have. That's what *RM* is trying to say, well that's what I get from it.
Kind of true I guess since capitalism only focuses on making as much profit as possible. Society is all about money, which is why money causes all evil. It's just built to make you believe money will bring you happiness and to some extent it really does just because society is built like that, so I don't know about whether RM is trying to say money doesn't make anyone happy. They are indeed questioning what really brings happiness, and I think *because* the system is made for you to believe you have to get money to survive and to be happy, most people won't ever be satisfied no matter how much money they already have, because they'll always crave more. In that way of thinking, that quote is true. Another thing that came to mind while writing this and listening to the song, I think this greed is just part of human nature, but isn't it also something that we people (society) created?
Strangely enough, it was the "my feed explains me" line that stayed with me the most. We often fail to understand how much we're manipulated by what we see on social media.
We could live our whole lives in the system that pushes you to, "get a real job" and if your rich that is the best thing you can be, it solves everything. We could live our lives without questioning why things are. Why don't we open our eyes. Or we can just keep them closed and be perfectly fine. :^/ I hope this makes somewhat of sense. If not ignore my rambling. Even my brain isn't big enough to decipher all of it
hey idk if there's an explanation video but imo the lyrics mean like this; yoongi's verse meant to make people thinking hard about our life and everything, with talking about the unfair world, about the system, and etc. you will become "the woke one in the society" bc you realized how everything he said is the reality. but then joon's verse came and then how you will confused with the song. but didn't that what he said? "the world played that changes like a flipped of a hand" and that's what happened to you, you were woke by yoongi's verse but then when you hear joon's verse, all he said about how the world and life is just like that, about how the system and how for God sake everything's under control, idk how to explain it to you bc my poor English, but do you get it? that's how "strange" lyrics are so genius, you woke once but then you just "ah that's right, the answer is no answer for all of that"

When i first heard strange i seriously fell in love even more with these two people who always take this role of spokeperson for us, people who are not in their position. In his vlive, suga even said that rm found it hard to do this because he was afraid that in his position it wouldn't be fair to treat a topic like this. But it is people in their positions that should have the balls to come out and call out what is wrong with the world, educate younger generations with their words, and maybe even affect older generations. I heard this song and i was left empty inside, as if i just had the biggest argument of my life but no one won it and no one felt satisfied in the end. The cynisism we are living in right now is getting to us. I hope we find the compromised solution one day. But till now "the answer is that there is no answer."

I think the feed part also alludes back to closed eyes and being blind. Specifically when people don't do their own research on matters and take whatever is on their feed as concrete and run with it. They don't think for themselves..they are blinded by what is pandered to them and so we all end up sharing the same ideologies. It gives me the same vibe as Jhene Aiko's line in 'triggered' where she states " you brought me to an obstructed view, when you knew the picture was bigger". The problem is we allowed them to take the lead in what we see or what we think
Yeah or what I was thinking is how a square have those sharp angles which could represent how people can sharpen or enlight their knowledge, mind, view of the world on their own but then come the round polished nail which represent the system and its engraved ideology of life that comes in and 'stuck' itself in your reasoning ability, weakening someone's enlightening to society ugly foundation.
If this was in english and on every US radio then it could change a part of this world. There are so many blind people, judging a song by it's language and ready to say "you are wrong" to a genius
Exactly true one of my friend said that to me when I shared colour coded video nof strange he said his metaphor on this lyrics is poor and also said to me you feel bad when someone criticizes the person you love or adore... I didn't react becoz may be he is blind what's the use of he doesn't want to wake up
I love how this song is so deep yet it has a funny side of it because of them being so rhetorical. Also what amazes me is the fact that in his verse, Namjoon kind of answers all the things that Yoongi asked previously.
I agree you can see this line ‘Born with eyes open in a world with its eyes closed, later you turn blind” in two ways: 1. You’re getting influenced by your environment, the more you hear this is bad and something else isn’t the more you gon’ believe it 2. People around you know not to ask questions, they keep their eyes closed. But If you speak or dig too deep, keeping your eyes open, they gon’ turn you blind so you can never question anything again. Some of BTS’ deepest lyrics to date How fitting for what’s happening right now in the US. Keep your eyes open. Don’t just accept anything the system tells you.
Like I was expecting BTS have songs with a deep meaning. Lyrics that make me think about society, feelings, dreams and more. I just love how they think about different things 💜👏
When I saw that 'Top Secret' edit on your thumbnail, I immediately thought of Yoongi in that clip saying "This is...top secret you know...Top secret."😂😂😂
That's why i love FOSquad reactions. The y went in and broke down lyrics which I would never have understood THAT clearly. And also the fact that they brought that *ERWIN* (from attack on titan anime) reference, I'm crying.
This is why Suga is a genius. He speaks on topics others don’t touch on. His words and structure of his lyrics are so particular and describes capitalism perfectly and in terms and analogyies I never thought about.
*Also react to the track PEOPLE, DEAR MY FRIEND* You know what his all tracks are introspective, if you react to all its better. (OUS we suga aka agustd stans are blessed)
*"The dog collar and dog house they are busy showing off to each other, they fight the whole day over whose shines more"* is one of my favorite lines in any song, ever.
My friend and I love LOVE watching Attack on Titans because it depicts the real world so much. Its so complicated but yet, it is so true in a sense. So far, it is the only anime that portray all of its characters neither bad nor good. All of the characters are just slaves to this particular system. The fact that you relate this song with Erwin's dad situation was so cool! I didn't think of that...props to you!! :D Thanks for the reaction!
i love how they make such nice thoughts about every sentence which is really touching and thats why it is a lyric reaction [btw]just had to put out there lobe u
The translation of this video are INCREDIBLE, they really transmitted the real message, beacause the translation to my mother language was quite different and not so accureted, so i'm glad that u could watch the real message and breakdown with it so nicely. Also, love your reactions and the way u explan your opinions and points of view. Supports from Brazil :)
Before I watch the video, imma just sing my favourite parts in this song called *"Strange"* so I love *Yoongi's* part: *"everything in dust, do you see? Well well well. Everything in lust, oh what do you see? Well well well"* and I love *RM's* part, *"you think you got taste, oh baby how did you know?"* *"I mean for God's sake, errything's under control"*
I watch this video mostly to understand the meaning behind it. For some reason when I was watching color coded my brain wasn’t responding well but now I understand it better thanks to your examples and explanations 🙏❤️
I think its so crazy how BTS, and the raplime always have the right songs/albums at the right time. With things going on right now it helps a lot with healing and thinking
Namjoon and Yoongi are my biases. They are living together since 2010 even before they started to live in dorm all together. And once Yoongi said he knew RM when he's making underground rap even before they audienced for bighit. They are really the two geniuses of the group. They are so mature, and so talented. And i think that's why they are getting along well and they are the oldest version of vmin.
I think he meant everything is lost not lust* When Namjoon said "oh baby, you think you got taste? (You think you got a choice?) Oh baby how do you know? I mean for god sake, everything is under control. (You're never in charge, there's always something that controls you, no matter who you are.)
No it's 'lust'. He said "everything in dust, do you see?" because everyone is blinded by what society pushes onto you, they can't think otherwise because this is just how society is built. You are supposed to blindly follow this system, and the few people who do have their eyes open are considered sick. Hence the line "In a world with its eyes closed, a person with theirs open, isn't it strange how now they are made blind". With "everything in dust/lust, do you see?" they are questioning how a person is able to have a correct view of the world if their mind is clouded by lust, hatred, and ignorance (your eyes are covered by dust, how can you have a clear view of the world). I found something that can explain it further: In many Buddhism influenced Asian cultures, ‘dust’ is a common reference to the impurities that cloud our mind. These impurities are often referred to as the ‘three poisons’: greed (lust, attachment), anger (hatred, hostility) and delusion (ignorance, confusion, incorrect beliefs).
I love this song so much it's my favorite song on the album the beat the message just wow even my mom was amazed we were both reading and deciphering the lyrics and it made her have more respect for why my bias is AgustD yoongi suga
I realized that when RM said "The fact that that person alone has opened there eyes, is far stranger to me." is him talking in the perspective of the listener. RM and SUGA wrote this song as people with open eyes, people who question the world we live in and we listen to it as blind people, so when they come in saying "Isnt the world we live in strange?", we then say "Why are you asking questions, thats strange?"
I told you guys this was the song with the deepest lyrics, that it was gonna make you question how the world works and how we're all controlled by the system
That's why I love your reactions so much - cuz you always dig deep into the lyrics and you're being honest about your opinions, and that's admirable 💜👏
I love how you guys immediately picked up on the parallel between Yoongi's and Namjoon's second verses! It's fascinating that they show two very different attitudes towards the same problems *-* also someting to note: in the line "wealth creates wealth and tests our greed /puts greed in trial" there is a verb that is mostly used in regards to infectious diseases.
This id exactly why Strange is my favorite track. It spits reality, i've been sick of this world lately and always not finding answer to WHY and WHEN i also pull some thoughts and i still can't find an answer. STRANGE is so relatable for me
I love the fact that they're not pointing at somebody, while everybody can relate and anybody can be guilty. They literally made a song applying the saying *the best way to hide is hide in plain sight* by actually emphazising the dirt, but not specifying those who are tainted by it. Pointing out the consequences, then leaving it to others to think about who or what are the causes. That's p r e s s u r e and s m o o t h
I love your in depth logic on it. I think the way ur thinking about it guys is spot on. I also like the reference to anime so people who are into that might understand it better.I don't watch watch animes but I understood the reference you used. You are smart young men who are definitely going places, keep up the good work.
This is why I am so happy that you guys look at the lyrics, and actually try to digest and understand what it’s saying. I spent a lot of time with this song pausing to analyze each bar.
the lyrics just describe what we are living and how without even us knowing we do i just love that BTS talk about subjects that people are afraid to talk about❤❤
I absolutely love this song, not only is it done by my 2 bias wreckers but also the lyrics are saying things that only I thought about.. I literally see the world a different way.. and wish all the time that things could be different and better.. well for the first time.. after finding BTS and listening to their music, it would seem they see the would the same way. I have been binge watching y'all's videos trying to catch up. Love your guys reactions.. y'all crack me up so much! I loved your reaction to this as well, hits hard in a different way, just wish more people listened to it and the lyrics. 💜
I love that the beat you hear in the beginning and end is a lullaby tune. This suggests that this is an underlying message from the moment you’re born that you can’t escape or that you don’t even realize is there. This is one of the deepest songs to come out from anyone in BTS in my opinion. We need more messages like this to get more people woke; I think that is the answer. If we stay ignorant then nothing will ever be done.
Lou, you got me craving boba!! Thanks to the both of you for taking the time to try to understand and dissect the lyrics. This song really makes me want to just chill and think about my life for a while.
That bit on polarization is what stood out to me the most. "the one who wants peace, the one who wants a fight; word play that changes as easily as flipping palms" Right now you can see people fighting over stuff like it's one way or the other that's the correct way, when in reality there's no one way to live. We keep fighting for the one we deem best but in the end what's the difference between the one who's wrong and the one who's right, when they both become so poisonous? The answer is that there is no answer because everything is subjective.
seeing you trying to understand and explain Suga's deep songs makes me feel good and makes me wanna see more. i cant even explain what's in my head now,buy I hope you will understand...the facts that he's saing ...and when he raps it shows how much he's putting his soul into these songs. I love all of them and respect all of them, but SUGA is my bias and he's lyrics are the reason why he's my bias. love you guys, love your videos, please do more💜💜💜
Strange is the best song that’s been made in 2020 cuz like u said this is usually a topic most would have behind closed doors or with just one other person. Reason being it’s usually frowned upon to think this way or to even question politics in this way but the fact that they being the amazing artist they are decide to make it into a whole song, for those people who do in fact think this way to know that they aren’t the only ones to question the world for how it is makes this song that much more amazing and that much more eye opening is why this is the best song made and why bts are truly in fact the most amazing and influential artist to this day
it's funny for me about how you two amazed and thinking hard about everything yoongi's said in his verse but then confused at the end and want to watch the explanation. idk if there is explanation video but, yoongi talked about the unfair world, about the system, and etc and you literally become "the woke one in the society" bc you realized how everything he said is the reality. but then joon's verse came and you guys were so confused about the song. didn't that what he said? "the world played that changes like a flipped of a hand" and that's what happened to you, you were woke by yoongi's verse but then when you hear joon's verse, all he said about how the world and life is just like that, about how the system and how for God sake everything's under control, that's Ous, Lou, idk how to explain it to you bc my poor English, but do you get it? that's how "strange" lyrics are so genius, you woke once but then you just "ah that's right, the answer is no answer for all of that"
thank you so much for doing this. I think your inputs are very great and your perspectives on it are also sound right to me and they are like what I thought too, thank you again for reacting to this
I love that they are willing to talk about things like this. I’m happy that they know. So many people just live life never questioning anything and trusting blindly. I think speaking up is courage in itself.
The lyrics "Polarization, the flower that has already bloomed fully. A round nail that gets stuck in a square hole. It still rolls somehow like this." really speaks volumes. I think he was trying to say that polarization (a division between two sharply contrasting groups, opinions, or beliefs) is the solution we used to solve the problem of making the world work. But polarization (which is the round nail) wasn't the right answer to make the world work (the square nail) hence why the round nail didn't fit into the square nail. Overall people took the easiest route to filling the square hole rather than the correct one. And somehow the world rolls/works even though polarization isn't the answer. That's probably really confusing but it's hard to convey my thoughts thought text.
Them lyrics are so scary to think about, yet we live it.
omg ik
It's so true that it's scary
Suga said on recent vlive that no one could write lyrics like RM. He was talking about strange. It was so good.
I'm crying😭😭😭💙
Love RM
Love this sub-unit.
“you’re a slave of the system” and “There’s no answer, that’s the answer” hit me real hard

dude istg clicking that dna mv will always be the best decision i will ever make i'm so proud i stan the right group
Like I was expecting BTS have songs with a deep meaning. Lyrics that make me think about society, feelings, dreams and more. I just love how they think about different things 💜👏
thank you for actually reading each line and looking into it. these lyrics are so deep, it's crazy
Reactions like this is why you're one of the best on RUclips. Analysing, thinking what's between the lines.
Wish more people were like you. 💜
When I saw that 'Top Secret' edit on your thumbnail, I immediately thought of Yoongi in that clip saying "This is...top secret you know...Top secret."😂😂😂
“Don’t talk to udder people”
@@heavanaparicio5707 *Was Just About To Comment That😂*
Yehh maaannnn. 😂😎😎😎😎
@@heavanaparicio5707 yeah. And he literally says that in front of millions of people
That's why i love FOSquad reactions.
This is why strange is my fav song
They're speaking the truth and nothing but the truth
You just need to open ur eyes ❤️💜
*Also react to the track PEOPLE, DEAR MY FRIEND*
You know what his all tracks are introspective, if you react to all its better. (OUS we suga aka agustd stans are blessed)
Bow down to the Emperor Kingyoongi
*"The dog collar and dog house they are busy showing off to each other, they fight the whole day over whose shines more"* is one of my favorite lines in any song, ever.
RM is discussing things Suga said with his own experience And its deep🔥
My friend and I love LOVE watching Attack on Titans because it depicts the real world so much. Its so complicated but yet, it is so true in a sense. So far, it is the only anime that portray all of its characters neither bad nor good. All of the characters are just slaves to this particular system. The fact that you relate this song with Erwin's dad situation was so cool! I didn't think of that...props to you!! :D Thanks for the reaction!
i love how they make such nice thoughts about every sentence which is really touching and thats why it is a lyric reaction [btw]just had to put out there lobe u
when you put two of the best lyricists of the industry in one song that's what you get 'facts never told before'.
Im flipping with you. Agust D wont stop amazing me track after track.
Thanks for your deep analysis! You are my fave people on YT right now
D-2 really is a masterpiece!!! am so proud of SUGA!!
Before I watch the video, imma just sing my favourite parts in this song called *"Strange"* so I love *Yoongi's* part: *"everything in dust, do you see? Well well well. Everything in lust, oh what do you see? Well well well"* and I love *RM's* part, *"you think you got taste, oh baby how did you know?"*
*"I mean for God's sake, errything's under control"*
Personally this is my favorite song by Agust D :)
I love it how you guys dive deeper into the these lyrics. Yoongi and Namjoon are just like Lou and Ou
im earRLY early, love your videos!!!! always checkin for new ones, sending my love and support from germany
These days, Strange(korean title: isn't it strange?) & Respect are my fav songs by RM & Suga💙
I really like how yall take your time decoding everything and rlly taking it in.
always question. never stop questioning. but hold firmly to your principles and beliefs. black lives matter.
I think he meant everything is lost not lust*
When Namjoon said "oh baby, you think you got taste? (You think you got a choice?)
Oh baby how do you know?
I found something that can explain it further:
In many Buddhism influenced Asian cultures, ‘dust’ is a common reference to the impurities that cloud our mind. These impurities are often referred to as the ‘three poisons’: greed (lust, attachment), anger (hatred, hostility) and delusion (ignorance, confusion, incorrect beliefs).
I love this song so much it's my favorite song on the album the beat the message just wow even my mom was amazed we were both reading and deciphering the lyrics and it made her have more respect for why my bias is AgustD yoongi suga
do y'all realize how the lyrics of Stranger is similar to the book 1984.
Wait what please explain
@@3nj0y48 it's a book by george orwell that talks about the system and stuff
@@eleanor9513 he did brave new world and animal farm too right? Freaky stuff but unfortunately accurate
I think Dean's song Howlin' 404 is a tribute to that book too. I havent read it but that's what I heard
Namjoon read that book and talked about it on his vlive, they also referenced it on their concept shoot before 😮
I realized that when RM said "The fact that that person alone has opened there eyes, is far stranger to me." is him talking in the perspective of the listener.
All lives matter. Black lives matter. We are all the same. And this song came at the right moment.
That's why I love your reactions so much - cuz you always dig deep into the lyrics and you're being honest about your opinions, and that's admirable 💜👏
One of my favourite songs . I am totally obsessed with this masterpiece.
AGHHHHHHHHH.
React to *RM, Wale "Change"* Plis 😔♥️🙏🙏
YESSSS
YESSSSS
I read a tweet somewhere that said, "Yoongi will call you a piece of shit, and Namjoon will explain exactly why."
I love how you guys immediately picked up on the parallel between Yoongi's and Namjoon's second verses! It's fascinating that they show two very different attitudes towards the same problems *-* also someting to note: in the line "wealth creates wealth and tests our greed
/puts greed in trial" there is a verb that is mostly used in regards to infectious diseases.
every time i read the lyrics of such their songs i just want to cry
8:16 the attack on titan analogy was perfect
This is why I am so happy that you guys look at the lyrics, and actually try to digest and understand what it’s saying. I spent a lot of time with this song pausing to analyze each bar.
You guys are so smart....to decode everything with examples is so wow👍
These lyrics had me thinking for a longgggg time
You're totally right, the lyrics are so so chilling especially with everything going on in the country right now!
the lyrics just describe what we are living and how without even us knowing we do i just love that BTS talk about subjects that people are afraid to talk about❤❤
The lyrics are one story but am I the only one in love with the piano in the background
Yassssssss I've been waiting
12:44 ous be going through a whole wave of emotion lol i feel that, these boys have BARS
Listen, their music always comes at the perfect time for the world, for you, whatever. Just enjoy it right?
React to “Do you” by RM🔥
yessssss
They never made a reaction to Do You, whyyyy
Have they really not reacted to Do You? That's my favourite! That's where my username comes from.
That bit on polarization is what stood out to me the most. "the one who wants peace, the one who wants a fight; word play that changes as easily as flipping palms"
Right now you can see people fighting over stuff like it's one way or the other that's the correct way, when in reality there's no one way to live.
I love all of them and respect all of them, but SUGA is my bias and he's lyrics are the reason why he's my bias.
love you guys, love your videos, please do more💜💜💜
Same. But I can't believe people are cancelling him now
i really love this song with the messages, lessons and facts stated 😭🤞❤️
"the world played that changes like a flipped of a hand" and that's what happened to you, you were woke by yoongi's verse but then when you hear joon's verse, all he said about how the world and life is just like that, about how the system and how for God sake everything's under control, that's Ous, Lou, idk how to explain it to you bc my poor English, but do you get it? that's how "strange" lyrics are so genius, you woke once but then you just "ah that's right, the answer is no answer for all of that"
You guys should react to "So I created a song out of BTS memes" by Paw paw
6:43 I know it’s a deep song but multi choice questions is saved my grades this year 🤣
thank you so much for doing this.
I dont even know how you read the lyrics so damn fast. 🤣 It takes me like 10 mins to read one bar. Hahahah
Love seeing Lou and Ous - their minds being blown away by how deep the lyrics are and RM and Agust D rapping bars.
you guys have the best reactions/lyric dissections - keep up the good work!
That's probably really confusing but it's hard to convey my thoughts thought text.
ngl i fw the vibe of this song so much for some reason like i b multitasking while streaming d-2 and this song gon catch my attention mid mixtape
The song is just amazing 😉 and your reaction too
