These men are very articulate, Knowledgeable, and funny. I think they're all great conversationalists. I could listen to them all day. I prefer the genteelness side rather than having opinionated and nervous people try and talk over each other.
+Laurey Shumaker "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wise people so full of doubts." - Bertrand Russell No fools or fanatics on the panel this week.
I'm reminded of a different quote. "...for evil men to accomplish their purpose it is only necessary that good men should do nothing." This was a panel that entertained the idea that a man who couldn't be bothered to staff his government was a latent authoritarian. Meanwhile, REAL authoritarianism around the world has never felt so emboldened - and this show didn't even touch it.
The consequence of not having any Republican politicians-idealogues who lie through their teeth so that everyone else (including Bill) has to correct them/argue with a wall.
One of the smartest things I have ever heard in my life. "If the only reason you are moral is you think you are being supervised, I don't want to know you". Hope there are enough open minded people that hear, and understand his words & thoughts.
Today the truth has to be funny (and maybe sweet). If it's sour, most people couldn't stand the taste. For those that have harder & more refined testes I salute you.
Really? But it implicates that every theist acts moral only because of supervision. And this is as false, as saying that every atheist acts unmoral because of lack of it.
no, they were talking about people who think that atheists are not moral because they don't believe someone is watching them. So the original commentator was saying that is the only reason someone acts morally, is because they afraid of hell, then they don't want to know that person. Because they aren't acting morally because it's the right thing to do. They act morally because they are essentially being threatened.
Bill's best hour of the year by far. John, Fareed, Jim, and Mr Dawkins were very informative, funny, and guests that you can only wish to get every week instead of people trying to out holler each other to make their points. And of course the Putin shot in New Rules getting a hum job from you know who was "classic" Maher; I thought I'd die laughing when that caption came on. I like it so much more when Bill only has two guests every week instead of three at the table
Greetings from Venezuela Bill, love your show. I would like you too address the dire situation we are living here in Venezuela some time in your show. Wee need you on our side
yea i watch vice news i am so sorry to hear of your plight maduro is the problem he's not smart enough to be president he seems like a moron doesn't belong being president and he's stealing your democracy
Ladygothii12 It's genuine, honestly. I can't imagine what it must be like for people in Venezuela. They're living in what is very close to a dictatorship where 82% are below the poverty line and money is worthless. It sounds awful.
I have worked in healthcare for 16 years, in an area of profession where not only do I care on medical needs of my patients, but I must focus on their dignity and integrity and strongly dignity of life. Im not open with my atheism, nor do I hide it. If someone asks about my religious beliefs, I am open and honest. They seem shocked. "But you are so kind, thorough and empathetic with your patients. You are so wonderful with these people." Of course I am. I have only my own conscious to answer to, not some make believe sky daddy.
That Jon guy is amazing. Funny, witty, and always accurate and intelligent. Truly impressed with everything he said. I hope he becomes a regular guest on the show. I'd love to see him go up against some guest like Rick Perry or Tomi,Lahren etc.
Fareed Zakaria, Jon Meacham and Richard Dawkins make for a perfect panel. They bounce off each other very well and are clearly intelligent people. The conversation flows very well and it's truly entertaining listening to them discuss things. Bill's usual panel often shout over each other, or are only aware of niche topic and throw that topic constantly into the mix as the panellist has no other topic mastery - this leads to episodes which you don't pay attention to the discussion much as it's just a shouting match. Lets hope Bill brings these folks back onto his show again :)
Really good show this week with Bill looking and acting more focused than lately. In focused I mean getting his neck hair up and speaking more on point! We need Bill in form all the time! Can't let things get to far out of wack politically!
The Meach!! Having a go at stand up?? He is knocking the jokes out of the park. Loved this panel. No one representing the counterpoint, but I could listen to these intelligent people talk all night long.
Sorry he didn't give Jim Parsons more opportunity to talk about his upcoming documentary.......I think Biill was so pleased to have him on he forgot to get to it sooner.
I'm pretty sure the face Jon Meacham made when asked about Trump's grasp of history was the Number 9 on the pain assessment chart you get at the hospital.
Hello Mr maher! I hope this gets to you , I've never seen you before except for that episode of family guy where Brian writes a bestseller. I've been binge watching you this whole week :) :) You think the American people are stupid. While I agree we are largely ignorant I don't think we're stupid. My question is; WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE? I hope you find this is good health :) Have a safe day everyone.
Yep. Like the warning on a plastic bag that it 'is not a toy' and should be kept out of the hands of children, there's a precedent for every prohibition. "Woah.. woah woah woah! The goat for milk and meat, Stan.. no no.. no fucking the goats! I know I didn't say anything about that in the .. ok.. no, ok, Stan.. here.. No we're writing it down, Mildred! Get out the quill. Happy Stan? Ink's expensive. God, it's the cousin fucking thing all over again."
I'd be interested in knowing why, because in my view Dawkins and Hitchens do not agree on a lot when it comes to politics. Like the war on Iraq and the so called war on terrorism.
gorginhanson There's no fucking way you're not trolling. Dawkins is RICH with intellectual originality. He and a handful of others are spearheading the science communication field into young generations and vastly outdoing most of his lecturing predecessors following the same legacy of the likes of Sagan and Asimov. You're out of your fucking mind and I'm goin' to sleep.
Here's another thing people don't know about the book of Leviticus - it only applies to the Levites. If you're not a Levite, doing something it says not to do in that book isn't a sin if it isn't in any of the other ones.
3:02 The "Thou Shalt Not Kill" commandment REALLY means "Thou Shalt Not Murder", or, in other words, "It Is Against The Law To Kill People Illegally." Really revolutionary stuff there, Moses.
These men are very articulate, Knowledgeable, and funny. I think they're all great conversationalists. I could listen to them all day. I prefer the genteelness side rather than having opinionated and nervous people try and talk over each other.
Laurey Shumaker I cannot like this comment enough👏👏

Laurey Shumaker Fareed makes everything better 😊
The consequence of not having any Republican politicians-idealogues who lie through their teeth so that everyone else (including Bill) has to correct them/argue with a wall.
Jon Meacham is lovely. A great mind, a wonderful sense of humour, so articulate, with a cheeky smile.
I swooned too
I love this respectful discourse and rhetoric. On touchy subjects, they still manage to have strong opinions without being bullish. Great work, gents.
Great cast of guests this week.
yea jim was a little of out his depth, pretty sure they brought him on for the levity.
Jim seemed upset by Bill's refusal to apply the term 'brave' for patients in Bldg 10
Fareed Zakaria is NOT an "Islamist extremist." The most you can all him is an Islam apologist.
Most christians don't read the bible as well as non-christians.
Jon Meacham isn't funny, he's sense of humor is very strange.
One of the smartest things I have ever heard in my life. "If the only reason you are moral is you think you are being supervised, I don't want to know you".
Hope there are enough open minded people that hear, and understand his words & thoughts.
that was funny and true
Today the truth has to be funny (and maybe sweet). If it's sour, most people couldn't stand the taste.

The problem is atheist don't have a definition of morality and religions do. You can't define morality without defining the immoral.
Fareed Zakaria is a boss and I love that he looks like an indian Willem Dafoe!!!
jon meacham is a funny guy, breath of fresh air for his tribe
Bill's best hour of the year by far. A smart Christian, Muslim, and Atheist all getting along intelligently reminds of the good days.
OMaster Flash who’s the Christian
Sammy Hewson, the episcopalian guy.
Maple A.
Think he was being sarcastic
Yet two of them think the other two are going to hell.
When were these good ol days you speak of?
Greetings from Venezuela Bill, love your show. I would like you too address the dire situation we are living here in Venezuela some time in your show. Wee need you on our side
yea i watch vice news i am so sorry to hear of your plight maduro is the problem he's not smart enough to be president he seems like a moron doesn't belong being president and he's stealing your democracy
Brandon Medeiros sounds familiar
pedro trivella It's awful what Socialism did to your country. Wish you the best.
Matthew Butters please spare your backhanded condolences
Ladygothii12 It's genuine, honestly. I can't imagine what it must be like for people in Venezuela. They're living in what is very close to a dictatorship where 82% are below the poverty line and money is worthless. It sounds awful.
"If the only reason your moral is you think your being supervised, I don't want to know you" 😂😂😂. Agreed.

THIS PANEL WAS FUCKING AWESOME. best episode in a while
Maher is back ! Last weeks episode had me questioning the future of the show . Bill Maher is back New Rules was epic !
+Raliek126 Last week's episode was his first after vacation, so cut him some slack for that one.
Great to see Fareed having fun here.
Best fucking panel ever!!!
Great panel Bill, one of your very best!
Best guests tonite, jon meacham and fareed zakaria. Thx
This episode made me very happy! :)
I would love to see Dawkins having a guest role in The Big Bang Theory
I love the Athiest guy's bird tie.
Really good episode this week. Meacham should run for office.
That Jon guy is amazing. Funny, witty, and always accurate and intelligent. Truly impressed with everything he said. I hope he becomes a regular guest on the show. I'd love to see him go up against some guest like Rick Perry or Tomi,Lahren etc.
Chad Vital Very much agree. He's been on a few times over the years. And lately I've seen him on both CNN and MSNBC.
"Kind of like an celestial Trump." *smirks and leans backward*
I like these guys.
This isn't a panel. This is an avengers movie. Great show.
I could listen to this particular panel for hours on end. Seriously.
Please please run for president bill!!!! It sounds good president Maher!
This is the best panel to date. Thanks Bill
Fareed Zakaria, Jon Meacham and Richard Dawkins make for a perfect panel. They bounce off each other very well and are clearly intelligent people. The conversation flows very well and it's truly entertaining listening to them discuss things.

Very glas to see Rcihard Dawkins back. It is good to see he is well .
Such a good episode. Great guests. Looking forward to next Fridays show.
Thanks Real Time with Bill Maher.:) "The main point of the New Testament is being nice to poor people and to be suspicious of rich people.":D
Jon Meacham is great at communicating the message. Not once i felt the liberal smugness we usually see on many liberals.
Really good show this week with Bill looking and acting more focused than lately. In focused I mean getting his neck hair up and speaking more on point! We need Bill in form all the time! Can't let things get to far out of wack politically!
+Lorenzo Lee Last week was his first show after vacation so you could expect him to be a bit rusty.
redlightmax True, true, true. It was great to see again. It's funny how you miss things you didn't even know you've come to depend on.
This episode is my favorite for the year already.
fantastics guests this week, including jim parsons. a good mix - and funny ~
Should've changed "Morality" into "McMorality" to complete the McTheme.
Jim is so precious. So lovely.
JIM would do an excellent STEPHEN MILLER in a SNL spoof!!!
billy kobilca true af
"Celestial Trump" was the best line 🤣
I’m a Christian but Bill Maher and this round table are hilarious
" _If the only reason you are moral is because you think you are being supervised I don't want to know you_ ." Thank you Professor.
You would not want to know nancy pelosi.
The Meach!! Having a go at stand up?? He is knocking the jokes out of the park. Loved this panel. No one representing the counterpoint, but I could listen to these intelligent people talk all night long.
"Sheldon" must be having a nerd-gasm sitting next to Dawkins. lol
Science strives to overcome ignorance. Religion perpetuates and exploits it.
Sorry he didn't give Jim Parsons more opportunity to talk about his upcoming documentary.......I think Biill was so pleased to have him on he forgot to get to it sooner.
Richard is fantastic!
0:17 "Chump's grasp of history"?! With those tiny hands, he can't even grasp the last hour...
Richard Dawkins, Jim Parsons, Zakaria, Meacham damn he had had some really smart guests back in the Trump era😮😮
I'm pretty sure the face Jon Meacham made when asked about Trump's grasp of history was the Number 9 on the pain assessment chart you get at the hospital.
This episode is a great improvement.
Agreed
Bill was a little touchy feely tonight lol
great cast tonite bill
The line is not between believers in god or non believers, the line is between unjust government and just government.
the correct translation of "Thou shall not kill" is "You shall not murder."
Thank you Mr. Dawkins. That shit was funny.
"I think I know why you're happy..."
Hello Mr maher! I hope this gets to you , I've never seen you before except for that episode of family guy where Brian writes a bestseller. I've been binge watching you this whole week :) :)
You think the American people are stupid. While I agree we are largely ignorant I don't think we're stupid.
My question is; WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE?
I hope you find this is good health :)
Have a safe day everyone.
Overly simplistic yet I know that they better. They know the background behind all of this.
Man, there is a bunch of really good standup material here!
Sheldon Cooper AND Richard Dawkins! MAN!
great show
what did the Solipsist say, when he was told the funniest joke in the world? "hahaha, I'm so funny!"
Epic tie.
GOLD Mr. New Message
Knocked it out of the park, kid. Well done.
GREAT panel!
Even though I don't particularly agree with Hitchens and Dawkins politically, I have tremendous respect for them
Tyler Leech amen
I'd be interested in knowing why, because in my view Dawkins and Hitchens do not agree on a lot when it comes to politics. Like the war on Iraq and the so called war on terrorism.
Dawkins is so massively dull. If you've ever seen him talk with other scientists, he never has anything original to say.
gorginhanson science is not show biz
gorginhanson There's no fucking way you're not trolling.
Fareed Zakaria looks like a character from the cards of that lie detector board game.
I would love to see John McCain on Bill's show!
very smart people at this table, theres even a physicist
Love Mr.Dawkins !
Great Panel! Great show!
Here's another thing people don't know about the book of Leviticus - it only applies to the Levites. If you're not a Levite, doing something it says not to do in that book isn't a sin if it isn't in any of the other ones.
The problem is not the existence of both rich and poor but who is rich and who is poor
Great panel this week
Great show last night!
Preach Brother Dawkins Preach!
Heyo, Meacham's funny. Like legitimately hilarious. The Meach!
Really enjoyed professor Dawkins!
High quality guests !!!
2:21 Ben Shapiro was quieter than I expected.
[crickets]
I'll show myself out.
He said trump wants mitch to bend the knee lololol
I like Dawkin's tie. Birdies.
Zakaria is awesome!
I’d love to see that whole episode
3:02 The "Thou Shalt Not Kill" commandment REALLY means "Thou Shalt Not Murder", or, in other words, "It Is Against The Law To Kill People Illegally." Really revolutionary stuff there, Moses.
"Kind of celestial Trump" Bwaaa Haaa Haaa... I blew coffee out my nose!
i love bill he
Classic Jon Meacham spitting fire
Last time I watched Sheldon on RUclips it was a Fun With Flags episode.
I had no idea that Meacham had such a wit! But it makes sense, most brilliant people are.
I will buy the Dawkins book
Bill, I love your show! I've watched every week for years. But can you please have more females on??
fareed is a very intelligent person, should become an advisor
is a great man
Dawkins! Yeah!
I'm sure the producers coulda picked out questions with some more depth. Every question: "what do you think of Trump.."
update from the future: McConnel has kissed Trumpy's tiny ring on his Tiny hands!
When Sheldon is not the smartest in the room...
