A lot of folks don't realize it but skeeters are actually the state bird of Missouri. Steelville has obviously come up in status, having it's own coffee shop and all. It used to be little more than a U turn with a mayor. Great vid, great music, great ride and a great chunk of Americana!
Lol I can't recall the last time we've encountered mosquitos that bad. Yeah I can imagine what the town has probably been like in the past. Appears they are now trying to capitalize on the float trips claiming to be the float capital of Missouri. Thanks for watching and the comment!
Awesome video...welcome to Missouri! Not as flat as Kansas!!! HAHAHAH steelville is beautiful though. looked like you guys had a good time. Thanks for sharing
Our first time in this part of Missouri. We took my Mother there to visit friends of hers and of course we brought the bikes. The MTB trails were relatively new. I should have explored more of it. Looked like the harder trails may have had wood jumps and berms. Thanks for watching Josh.
On this particular trip we were taking my Mother there to visit friends of hers and just brought our bikes with us. So we didn't really choose this as a destination. I did look at the area on Google maps to see how easily we could get around on bikes and spotted the MTB park on the map. In the past we would typically plan our trips to ride rails-to-trails and would go to the Rail-to-trail website and just find rides there. We were trying to ride in every state so we'd look for rails-to-trails in states we hadn't yet ridden. Prior to the internet we'd buy books that listed MTB trails and rails-to-trails. We're not riding as many rails-to-trails as we used to now. Some trips now are just to ride around a city and check it out. Once we pick a city I'll look at it on Google maps to get a little bit of a feel for it. You can set Google maps to show bike trails and routes. Also I might do a search for the city's name and "bike paths" to see what comes up. We've ridden now in 43 states and in Canada, and multiple times in most if not all those states. I'm really don't like to plan trips and am no that good at it. Sometime we just kinda wing it. Maybe have one destination in mind and just figure it out while enroute. That probably wasn't the best explanation but hopefully you get some idea of what we do. Thanks for watching!
Holy cow! you two were so close to me I'm surprised I didn't hear you pull up! LOL. Steelville is a nice little get-a-way town. Hope you enjoyed your trip.
Thanks for the vid old sport, really enjoyed it. Nice to see what other folks countries look like from your perspective. Stay groovy 🤙🏼
Thanks Ian. This is the next state over from us and about a 6 hour drive. It's really hilly compared to the flatness here at home.
Looks like a pretty neat area. Some parts were reminiscent of your home turf. Thanks for bringing us along! Take care you two, and have a great week!
It's nice every now and then to go someplace with hills and give the legs and lungs a little workout. Thanks!

Thanks for watching. Randy does a good job with the music.
Enjoyed, good music too.

Thanks. Our first time to that part of Missouri. Yeah some pretty steep climbs. Was a really nice area.
You make the best videos
Thank you! We appreciate you taking the time to watch.
I’m kind of surprised by the amount of rocks on the berm of the mountain bike trail.
Cool video. Looks like a fun place to visit.

Grest video, thanks!!!
Thanks David. We appreciate you taking the time to watch.
Ever since the pandemic I always ride with a mask. I've found they're great for keeping the bugs out of my nose & mouth while riding!
That's smart. In cooler weather I do wear one of those neck gaiter/buff things and it helps with the dust on the country roads. Thanks for watching.
I need to remember to mask up.
@@nova2591 just a simple cloth mask will do. Doesn't have to be a fancy kn95 or whatever. It's the best riding lifehack I've found in a while.
Really cool ✌️🙂🤙
Thanks for watching!
@Locojoe I always watch and enjoy, often forget to comment 🤦🤣👍
Love that Schwinn Sierra. Cool bike.
Thanks. I’ll be sure that Nova sees this.
Curious as to how you two plan trips like these and find the trails beforehand. Looked like a great time.

@@Locojoe That's as good as an explanation as any. I might need to do that myself whenever I plan a trip elsewhere. Thanks.
