We rescued one of those from the local golf course when it closed down…it had been used as a sprayer, with a boom and tank setup in the bed. I thought it would be great to run around the farm in…it was full of Sadness as well…I traded it to a guy for a really nice Lund 12’ boat with motor thinking I had hit pay dirt- somehow we both lost on that deal…
Ross needs to invest in one of those smoke generators for finding leaks. The OMC engine that pops Cushman trackster had was a real gem. Except it ran fine until it didn’t. A fella never knew where he would be walking back from!
When I worked at Boeing they had Cushman scooters. They had a fixed bed. They had a few like yours. Some were an older style , those had 3 on the tree gear shift.
Ross, while you are standing there looking at the inert lump it sounds like an HD. 97% of all HDs are still on the road. The other 3% made it home.... As Honda Goldwing riders we had a million HD jokes and had fun teasing those HD riders when they accused us of riding "Old Peoples" motorcycles. My bride and I did a 26-day 28-state western/mid-western swing ride and never once had to repair a thing. If you want to mimic the sound of an HD, just keep saying "Potato, potato, potato, potato, potato" and maybe squirt some oil on the ground and toss a few 5/16 nuts on the ground. Toss a couple of nuts under one and watch the rider go crazy. The best thing that happened to HD was when others started making look-alikes as it forced them to get their quality up. We were camping in Springfield, MO, and looking at a guy's 2-year-old HD. I asked him why he had not cleaned the rust from the frame underneath the bike. He panicked and called the HD dealer who came and put it on a trailer. The frame was rusting through. That was one sick bike owner. Pulling jugs? If you were a Dairy farmer you might have some experience. I love how your Donkey comments on some of your comments. My dog does the same thing when I am having problems. She just sits there and says "Ruff!" Get that thing running so you and your Grandpa can have races up and down the lane. He might slip some 8v batteries in his and blow your doors.
I do a lot of these air cooled gas engines. I may possibly have a John Deere garden tractor problem. I’m sure I don’t though. The air your hearing is pretty normal as several of mine do that. It’s just air moving through that carb as the engine rocks back and forth at the end of cranking it. Your machine is running on one cylinder. There are several reasons that could be happening. Valve clearance or fouled plug are the usual suspects. It has a smooth crank not loopy so it has compression on both cyl,
Those little electric fuel pumps while way more convenient to use than the mechanical they don’t have the greatest longevity. On the plus side they are stupid cheap. Make sure if you get another that it only puts out like 2-5 lbs.
I can't wait. I can just imagine you and Chris Losey riding this thing around doing field service work at shows. What a treat. Keep away from Mike Kalsem with it. You don't want a flat. Keep us informed.
If you look back at the 60's photos of trucksters you will see a lot of them with cabs. Business useg them as delivery vehicles. Drugstores, autoparts, groceries, ect. At that time before the government got into safety crash test, seatbelts, emissions, ect. they were licensiable. Ahhh.... freedom from the nanny state.
Hopefully you can get it going soon. I drove one working for the town near me and the worst part of them was kids didn’t know how to drive a machine with a clutch. We went through a bunch of clutches on that thing
Wellll...moments of gladness and sadness. It'll run when all the stars/planets are in proper alignment. Maybe you'll even learn a few new @#@$%^ words/expressions in the process. For now have a beer and dream of brighter days!!! Even has a place for Buddy to ride along.
Better buy a crash helmet 😂. That 3 wheeler will have you and Buddy upside down in the blink of an eye . Straight pipe safely . Great video Ross , see ya tomorrow
I can't see half of the screen as your products are overlayed. How do I get rid of this please? I've subscribed and love your videos but hate the fact I can only see half a screen

This one will be fun to see running around the farm, etc.
That can be a handy item if you get it going.
