    Thank you. My dad taught me a lot of stuff over the years, but he didn't have a farm so I never learned how to stretch barbed wire. I recently bought a small acreage and this video just helped me out big time. Thanks again.

    I welded up what I call "the tree". It would hold up to 3 rolls of wire that you can roll out in 1 pass. Basically a verticle pipe 5ft tall. then it had 3 horizontal pipes welded about 18" apart. Put your rolls on, then put the big washers on after the wire roll, and then pin it with a thru bolt. 3 wires worked good, fast and easy...but any more and they would tangle on the ground bad. I tried with 5....a disaster. 4 was doable but still a tangle to fight. 3 was a breeze. afterwards I ended up going back and welded up 3 rings as wire guides. The wire rolls were stacked verticle, but the wire guides would lay the 3 wires on the ground horizontally about 18 inches apart. No more tangles at all then. I ended up mounting all of this to 3 point round bale carrier that goes on the back of a tractor. I cut the spear off and went from there. With us using the hell out it for the fact it worked really good, I ended up adding a carrier for a 5gal water cooler and also boxes for carrying tools, staples and lastly a rack that could carry about 30-40 t posts at a time.

    When you are attaching barb wire to a metal post, it might be best to go around the post twice. This will keep the wire from sliding down the post when spacing the strands of wire.

    The most important part of the installation is the setup he has on his ATV to unspool the wire. This type of project is impossible without something like the spoiler as the wire spool is very heavy.😊

      Woven wire like this should probably work. You'd need to make sure the openings are small enough. Take care and good luck. www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/red-brand-woven-field-fence-330-ft-l-x-47-in-h

      In the uk we call it "sheep netting". Sheep netting with two strands of barbed wire on top, is called "stock fencing". 'Go figure' as you'd say across the pond. The best thing abt this video is the background music - it gives the content both authority and authenticity.

    • @LewisRenovation
      @LewisRenovation  Год назад +1

      Run the bottom wire first to set all the posts. If it's a long fence, once all the posts are in move it to the top and then work your way down. Keeps the barb wire from getting all tangled up
