I think the brand needs to show that the dynamic of the regular swimming caps is the same as theirs and the Olympics should allow their brand of caps to be allowed. I don't get why this is an issue and why the Olympics didn't approve it.

@jim smith - why are people thick, explain? If this woman needs to wear a cap that fits her hair why shouldn't she be able to? Also as you are the thick one and need some educating, the reason why caps such as this are important is because of the chemical composition of Afro hair, which unlike Caucasian hair, can be easily and severely damaged by the chlorine in the water. So yes there is a good reason for having caps like this.

@@Wavy_Godd96 actually I do swim. 8 years to be exact. And if you actually swam and payed attention to the people around you when you do so. You’d see that the black people who swim, have their hair in either a bun, or in braids. Simone Manuel doesn’t have this problem, Neither does Camden Murphy or Reece Whitley. They all either braid their hair or put it in a bun. And they do just fine. So u can take your clown shit elsewhere and go back to the circus. Cause clearly you don’t swim or even pay attention to the world around you oblivious fuck. Prime example. Annual black history meet in Washington DC. Every black
Woman has their hair in a bun and or braids. The cap is for rec, not competitive swimming aswell so it defeats the whole purpose of swimming fast. You’d know that if you swam competitively Ur probably just a mad casual who thinks they know something from swimming a few laps. But hey, I ain’t gon judge. You keep looking like a fool 😂 the Olympics have a standard. Either u meet it or don’t go. Simple. Also, I’m not saying that their isn’t bias. i think if they truly wanted this type of cap to be worn by men or women, then it should have gone through the proper channels and shown that it should be a part of the olympic head gear. You can't just say, I want to wear this or that at such a high arena. They have to make sure that it is not giving an unfair advantage to the athlete. We have to be reasonable...follow the proper steps to get this passed. personally, I think it would be a hinderance and make her slower. also, you cannot compare a store bought swim cap to the type that is used by them. totally different material. I just think we should look at this logically. And she is not the only black swimmer going to the Olympics. We are being represented WELL. I am a huge fan of the Olympics and what it stands for. I sooooo agree with you; this is unfair and discriminatory. I have stayed away from the pool for years because of this very problem; my 4 type hair is very fragile. Now, because of a back injury that I got last year, my doctor recommended that I go swimming. My first thought was: what am I going to do about my hair? As you said, the conventional swimming caps are pretty useless in giving any kind of protection for our type of hair, so I will definitely go and purchase the swimming cap you mentioned and I’ll post myself in it. A part from that, perhaps we could get a petition going, just because there are few black swimmers doesn’t mean that our rights for equality should be ignored. Thank you for informing us about what’s going on.
