wow she's really beautiful.. i have the platinum one with darker a little gothic theme but i think i prefer this pink tokidoki barbie because of how lively her color scheme is. im curious, is the sequence sewn manually? i dont think a sewing machine can do That
For a minute I thought it was an IntegrityToys Doll, it's so different from everything Barbie does, it's absolutely beautiful and fun, I only can think on Harajuku Fashion. Somehow I also had a flashback on some of the fun print dresses from the SS 09 collection of Versace but this Barbie is way more saturated, love everything about this doll 😍😍😍😍😍
I toss Pink and Black label boxes. I keep the others as I rotate all my dolls who are on display and like to put them back in their respective boxes when they are resting :)

I'm kind of disappointed in this doll. Visually she is stunning, but it really bothers me that Mattel chose to work with an Italian fashion brand while trading off the clear western popularity of the East Asian aesthetic. Let us consider the history of Mattel's manufacturing locations which include Indonesia, Thailand, China, Philippines and Japan. I would have preferred them to work with an actual Asian fashion designer if they are trading on the popularity of Japanese aesthetic rather than a European one. No shade to Simone's designs here - he's great at what he does. I feel like this was more of an...insensitive collab on the part of Mattel. Your trip to Tokyo may have a stop off in Rome...

The sequins are sewn onto the fabric. It is done by machine. There are industrial sewing machines which are designed to sew on sequins.
