- I've been playing with the USA at battle rating 5.3 and I'm finding this BR quite straight forward. I was struggling to being with but then I just started winning games. Granted, I wasn't the person leading the charge or topping the scoreboard but I felt as though I was making good decisions and being a valuable asset to the team. This is a bit of a longer video today so let me know what you think/ Enjoy!

if your facing any arty like the m109 or m109g it can be penned by your 50s remember a us plays best asset is not the tank but the 50s
best asset is the amount of 1000lb bombs your planes can carry lmao
i just did the most insane thing ever in the M109. I killed a jagtiger and a FW190 with my he shell at the same time somehow
Let me give you 2 fun tricks :
1) You can bind roof machine guns to a key which allows you to "climb" into it. That means you don't need to turn the whole turret in emergency situations like with the truck at 14:08 + you can shoot unarmored vehicles from complete cover since the MG is above the tank. Just don't forget to bind another key to come back in the main gun (you can also do it with secondary guns such as the 37mm on the T1E1)
2) If you need armor in a situation where you need to push, you can abuse the T1E1 reverse gear and drive it in reverse making you soak up shots like crazy as long as they don't shoot your turret

I use ctrl+space to climb into machine gun, and ctrl+LMB to go back. Makes sense as it is just ctrl + the key I use to fire that gun. I also have fire secondary guns at E, and switching to them with ctrl+E
I would love to help you through your grinding, and i love your videos :3 so here's a few tips of mine (source: pls trust me i know what i'm doing-):
1: You should check your surroundings more often, specially when advancing to the middle-above parts of the map. A good eye can save your life in multiple situations.
2: As other people have said, use your stabilizer more! The stabilizer that the US tanks use (at least in rank 2 to 3) is a Gyrostabilizer, which breaks at 25kph. You don't have to do a cold stop in order to use the stabilizer :3
3: Forget the leaderboards. Just play the match, and use all of your knowledge to the max! You don't have to pressure yourself into always being first, with 10 kills and whatnot; Whatever gets you above 1k of RP, do it! Your grind is what matters the most at the moment, not flashy games.
4: I noticed that you use the "turret lock" when you're turning to engage... that is a habit that *i personally* would get rid of. It doesn't matter what parts of the hull you have to expose while turning; As long as the barrel points at the target for a hit, it's enough.
Those are only a few things that you should keep in mind while grinding, and i'd feel honored if any of this helps you :3 as always, love your videos!
Tho you do have to agree that some Russian and German anti air can pen almost all shermans on the sides, that’s the main problems with high penning AA. Most of the .50 cals mounted on us tanks and take down planes by themselves, it’s why most players hate the .50 cal. It can help in almost all situations.
if you are in a half well armored vehicle you can push KV-1s. They dont have such good cannons. Like in the M4A2 you can push him.
The KV-1s has the same gun as the T-34 which can go straight through the Sherman. You shouldn't push a KV-1 but rather bait out his shot since he has a pretty long reload, then pen him in the lower front plate, which the Sherman can do without problems.
@@wallachia4797 nah the t34 doesnt go through a Sherman like butter. A pz4 with a long 75 does. On the move and with angles, the Sherman should definitely push a kv1 and use the Stab to get a turret shot.
@@TheGXDivider Literally go play the T-34, you will frontpen shermans at close range without any issues.
The KV-1 with its taller silouete shooting from above, negating even more of the M4s armor will have even less issues going through.
@@wallachia4797 I play sweden so I have access to both t34 and Sherman. If you angle a bit, the t34 won't pen the m4.
And KV1 has a weak ass gun.
Meanwhile, all RU tanks are easy right side turret
@@TheGXDivider Most American players don't angle though. The KV1 has the same gun as the T-34, except it shoots from a higher position.
Russian tanks you either shoot in the turret ring, cupola, or under the gun. The turrets are in 90% of cases volumetric black holes that absorb everything.
Also bro i feel like ur putting a lot of pressure on urself to help the team and finish higher on the leaderboard. Honestly I’ve found that as long as you can reach 1000 score u’ve helped the team. Many games are won by having more people attain 1k than the other. Also big tip, american cas at this tier is fantastic, if ur not using the m19/m42 or drop the chaffee for an f6f or p47. Even at this br these planes are very effective cas with their loadout and they can help take down opponent cas
That’s true, but hey don’t forget that you are new and still learning, but once you’ve gotten use to the mechanics and knowledge of the tanks you face or using you’ll have a easier time. The first time I got a nuke was some time ago, and I’ve been playing since early last year and just now made it to rank 5 (took a long break). But once you get better you’ll see yourself getting 6 or more kills everytime instead of 1 or 2. Then you’ll hit the nukes, don’t rush, let yourself learn.

it's painful how many games my team has lost by not simply looking at the map when I ping a light tank that is sitting there wiping the floor with us
Not much you can do with a blind team, it's frustrating but try not to take it hard on yourself as it's something shockingly common in WT
Your gameplay however is getting better and it's cool to see you improve and learn the nations you play with each new video :)
Just a note on KV and IS series of vehicles
It is GENERALLY better to shoot the lower front plate except for the ISU152. It gets you more consistent results.
You can of course comfortably get through the ufp, but its a comparatively smaller and more difficult target to hit.
Don't worry about relying on teammates, over half the time they will ignore anything you say, especially german players.
Can agree, my main experience is the us tech tree. I just made it to rank 4 in Germany and I’ve seen what “German mains” truly mean
Man its insane how sometimes people can be so blind they dont see a WHOLE EBR/M18 flanking the teams spawn
for panthers you wanna shoot em dead in the center if you catch em side on usually it would detonate the ammo or kill the crew, also for tigers if they’re angled go for the cupola and then use your 50 cal to destroy the tracks so you can get em on the side. But great video as always, it’s always funny and relatable to us WT players who aren’t that good.
The Tiger 1 H almost has the cupola removed, tho you can also remove the barrel since you have the stabilizer. Then go for tracks.
you have to remember that tiger E does not have a weak cupola

Your videos are really good! I usually play arcade unless theres some special task. But even in realistic, I can play the US at this br similarly and get the same results. Your mobility is not the best, but pretty good; If you know where the enemy team is approximately, use your speed to surprise them. Move when you can. Revenge bombers will have a hard time finding you, the enemy will have a harder time pinning you down (even if this means retreating), and your enemy occasionally will not be able to shoot your for one reason or another. Once you get smoke shells, hull-down is your best friend. Blind enemies, have good cover to retreat to quickly, never underestimate your gun depression, and use your good stabizer + decent transmission for quick shots. Also, stick with your teammates in slower tanks, your armor isn't good enough yet, so you can abuse your enemies reload time with teammates. Finally, never forget your MG. If you aren't giving away your position, then you can mark enemies for your teammates, or find them through concealment. If you are confident that you will not cause a plane to come after you and your teammates, take potshots; your 50 cal will surprise you. It'll give you more rewards if you hit them when they are already going for you. And especially if you get the credit for the kill. Luring them in also works if they only have guns that can't penetrate you, and your teammates can also shoot at them too.

14:21 one of the biggest bonuses of US tanks is the .50 cal space bar is your friend, you can even bind a key to control it directly and just poke your .50 over cover and shoot the .50 will shred light tanks even at top tier

Quick tip, try to remember to 50 cal vehicles, if you cant pen them, you can at least shoot out their tracks or wheels. Also I am once again asking you to play the l62 anti ii with the SAPHEI rounds. One last also, is there a chance that you could sometime play with fans? I would like to play with you, even though I dont really do war thunder content.
quick tip for shooting as fast as possible, instead of spamming left click to shoot, you can hold the shoot button to fire the milisecond the gun reloads. loving the content, keep it up!

I just had the exact same experience using usa5.3 last week. It wasnt working and then it was. I think it just took me a bit to adjust to the playstyle as opposed to german vehicles as well as getting aphe for the t1e1 and the sherman
Ebr's are funny little guys, they will murder your whole team if left alone for too much
So while american tanks to have stabalizers and that is useful for firing on the move it actually helps get your gun on target faster when stopping which gives a huge advantage against most enemy tanks which do not. Granted this becomes less important at this BR as most opponents you face will just be sitting there waiting for you or so far away the can stop and shoot before you can see them but its still good to know
M36b2 gets heatFS at 5.7 with like 350mm of pen u should definitely give it a shot

Against KV1s go for the lower front plate. With the long 76 you can go through almost every time and one shot them
From experience (as a french tech tree player in wt) is that you should never relay on your teammates except if yous are in a squad together but other than that never trust your teammates, also if you want tips on fighting french tanks I can help.
You can just go straight through most French tanks, the armor is hilariously bad on most of t hem
@@jozefdobrovodsky2932 true and some tanks from 3.0 to 6.7 are American tanks but it’s the auto loaders and the glass cannon tanks that make France annoying to fight sometimes
If you're facing something like an E.B.R or an M109 they can both be penned by your .50 cal on American tanks
if you find it tricky to pin something on the map then you can just press ALT and move your mouse over the mini map

To be honest the T1E1 was most fun tank to play, the second cannon comes in handy in so many situations. Sad thing is that im currently at 7.0 and the situation overall hasn't improved at all. I guess that its just the USA tech tree being bad compared with others.
Anytime you are facing a Kv1 aim for the lower front plate it almost always one shots them so long as your gun is a 76 or bigger

From what I understand the m6a1 with the good reverse gear as an electric gearbox that lets it reverse like that

Use for the T1E1 the he shot as secondary because in is better against light tanks or light armored tanks.
at 0:52 I am a little sure you can 50cal the E.B.R start using the 50cals its great at killing light tanks sometimes.
9:37 that wasn't lucky, that was actually a skillful move right there! Know that, with some tanks such as the Sherman and the T-34, you can bait shots with the front of the hull when angled. After that you can usually push back and get the kill

Hi I was going to recommend the USA tank T14 it’s a stupid strong tank at 4.7 I played a game wasn’t even trying got 13 kills 3 caps and 0 death if you have it you’ll have fun in it
you remember that stabilizer. it wont be coming back at 6.0-7.0.
most tanks at 6.0-7.0 in america lack a stab, some might have it.
Most light tanks like the ebr, puma, and AA can be killed by 50 cal also welcome to 5.0-7.7 the pain of American tanks
7.0 us is pretty good with t29 (premium), t34 and m46. I also add two 6.7 to the lineup,T26e5 and m26. Although others might prefer t92 and m50. They just aren’t my style

Some advice for playing Germany at 5.3 or .7 you aren’t supposed to be aggressive because of your great gun that you can use at long ranges. And always angle
use your .50 cals for light tanks instead of just waiting for your main cannon to reload or turret to fully turn

I was told to start on Germany as it's good for beginners. While I agree I have been noticing I have gotten the germany blindness. It's frustrating but im working on trying to fix it.
@@ToxicMinecraftV2 Germany is not good for beginners, although it has good tanks early on, you'll soon discover a lot of their tanks are worse than their counterparts in other techtrees.
Also German players aren't blind, that's just an American a stereotype. That EBR had very good positioning and knew who to kill as not to get detected, which is common for French players.

No, you did not say anything about the EBR, that is true. I was just explaining why for example, the Germans in the video were not blind, but simply outskilled by a French player who was pretty good.
I have 1700 hours in this game, other people probably have a lot more than that but at least from my experience I can tell you German players are no more good or bad than other nations' players.
@@wallachia4797 No, Germany tanks are not worse than counterparts at their BRs. Panthers wreck their same-BR American and Soviet counterparts : almost as fast as a T-34, hull is impervious to shots frontally and the turret still has more armor at its weakest point than anywhere but their literal strongest points, the penetration and ballistics are much better on the german long 75mm than on the american 76mm or the soviet 85mm, and when driving at cruise control 1 setting it is stable enough to accurately shoot on the move, like a mini Sherman stabilizer.
Germany players are on average the worst and it's not a stereotype. Anyone with a brain who plays Germany and then another nation will find out that when playing Germany their team-mates are consistently more prone to tunnel visioning, missing calls for backup and enemies marked on the map , and that 80% of the times someone blocks their reverse, pushes them out into the open, or rams them at spawn, it's a German vehicle. It's especially apparent when playing a minor nation like France since you flip-flop between being on Germany's side or against them with every game, making the difference even more obvious when you get several competent teams when on the US or Soviet side for each competent Germany team you get.
It's a mixture of Germany being a favorite for beginners due to the popular notion that it had the best WW2 tanks, and that a playstyle based around high firepower and, later on, tough armor as well, incentivizes self-centered gameplay and deincentivizes learning the enemy's behaviors and weakspots since you can almost always kill them with a center-mass shot.
Germany is both good and bad for beginners : the high penetration and lethality of cannons makes it easier to contribute to the game in early BRs where everyone is most likely also inexperienced, but the overconfident and complacent playstyle that it incentivizes becomes less and less competitive up the ranks as enemy players get better at flanking, shooting weakspots, spotting campers and snipers, and acting in coordination with other players.

You don't use the 50's enough. That said, I struggle at 5.3 with the US. I do better with Russia 5.3 even though one of my lead vehicles is the Russian M4A2 Sherman where I have a better KD ratio for some reason.

Ive played this game since like 2012 or 2013 and still dont know why the 76 shermans are all at diff BRs. Having a cast hull vs a welded hull is literaly a 5% difference in armor value . But at this br literaly maks no difference. And the modest engine power difference isnt worth a 0.3 increase. And the m4a3 has apcr (which doesnt have its historical armo pen values ingame) has wider tracks and a 500hp engine so its at 0.7 like snail calm down

@@ksawerds the way they balance vehicles hasn't ever been clear . They say it's battle efficacy but that doesn't explain why the jumbo 75 and 76 are so high, why the 76 Sherman's are all.diff brs. The t20 going from 5.0 to 6.3 and the only change to i was getting apcr after it went to 6.3 because it sucked ass. T14 rank 3 premium being 4.7 despite the kv1b being 4.0 but just better overall because it doesn't face high velocity cannons. I'm sure there's far more perplexing examples from other nations .

I don't see you using your machine guns that much. You could've killed that EBR if you used them.
The American 50. are particularly good, and the enemy ping that appears when you hit someone with the machine gun works a lot better than the map pings when it comes to convincing allies to help out.
i used to suck at realistic. But youtubers like you, spookston and oddbawz made me better. and also you were losing cuz american 75 mil solid shot is the worst thing in the history of the game.

Idk about y’all but it seems like the 76 Sherman’s have gotten a little too strong being able to pen an angled tiger and what not
I was surprised at how little problems I had with all the usual problem tanks for me (Tiger’s, KV-1’s, etc). I’m not complaining though! 🤣
