- I review the rear wheel drive 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti and quickly discover it's my new handling benchmark in the luxury sport sedan class. Huge thanks to Alfa Romeo for providing me with this car to review! What do you think of these?

I can speak to the long-term reliability of the Giuia. I have had my Giulia now for 18 months and 30,000. No problems whatsoever. Just lots of smiles every time I drive it. Best car I've ever owned!
30k miles really isnt alot or something to brag about.
@@eastsidepb8139 Who said I was bragging? I am just a happy customer. And for those who are unsure how reliable this Alfa is, maybe my experience can help them make a better decision.
@@rosskramer5296 maybe brag was the wrong to use, however my point still stands. Anyone looking for a reliable vehicle is looking for something that will last well over 30k miles. My vehicle that I have currently has 52k on it and I haven't had an issue but honestly I wouldn't expect to especially when I keep up on the preventative maintenance.
@@eastsidepb8139 I've owned 6 Alfas over the years, and the general stigma attached to Alfas is that they rust and break down as soon as they leave the dealer lot. Unfortunately, there is truth to this as Alfas do have a bad history of reliability. So I know that many people have this in mind when they are considering whether or not to buy a Giulia. True, 30,000 miles of reliablity (now 33,000 for me) is not considered 'long term', but the initial quality and ownership experience 'medium-term' for me has been excellent. In Alfa terms, that is saying a lot! Will my Giulia still be this great at 50K and 75K? Who knows. But for anyone afraid they''ll be spending their first 1-3 years in the dealership's service department, all I'm saying is that has not been the case for me. And, relative to other new cars I have owned, the Alfa is right up there in terms of 3-year reliability. Not bragging...just a very happy Alfa owner!
@@rosskramer5296 I totally get what you're saying. I own an executive transportation company and I am looking at adding one of these to my fleet, however I worry about the reliability and as I've stated 3years worth of liability is nothing. Theres not a huge market for them in the us either so I'm also wondering now what the depreciation on that vehicle would look like. It's a difficult decision, but the vehicle does look and drive nice.
This car has a charm, something that is hard to find these days
Fuego _ facts....
Fuego _ I saw it before 😭
Yeah, it's Italian.
you prolly dont care but if you guys are stoned like me atm then you can watch pretty much all the new series on InstaFlixxer. I've been streaming with my gf for the last few days =)
@Nova Terrance Yup, been using Instaflixxer for since december myself =)
Even with all the hype & praise since its release ... this car’s handling is actually still grossly underrated. After 2 years with a Ti Sport I just upgraded to a Giulia Quadrifoglio - aside from the obvious engine differences, the QV & the base handle almost identical. And that is very, very high praise.
People can talk craps about Alfa all they want, but there is not a single person, who would drive a proper Alfa and not have a smile or face of joy while doing it
"Let's turn into this back road here" shirts will sell lol
Already available, the link is in the description :)
Hello Matt
Sam Lung I don’t think so!
tbh that is his signature phrase, but outside of the car community it would look a little weird lol
Man, your honesty with your reviews are so helpful. Integrity! I'm really thinking of buying this car!
I would. If I could.
Hey Matt, just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy watching your reviews. They’re really upbeat and positive and just very enjoyable overall. Thank you l, and I hope to see more new ones soon!
I'm waiting for him to drive a Fiero GT with at least 300hp.
Been watching you since day one.. always solid reviews, Keep it up.
I wish Alfa would give us a midrange V6 option somewhere in between the Ti and the QF, a la c43.
c43/s4/m330i killer for sure
Like audi with the a5, s5 and rs5!
Or q50 red sport
Perfect. That we had mo power and a decent sound.
the veloce is the choice i guess
Love that review, he's having the time of his life, it's so agile and smooth on the twists and bends!!
Great review Matt, I love the fact that you are such an enthusiast and enjoy cars
I just bought one yesterday and I woke up without regrets! Zippy and beautiful! ❤❤❤
me too when i used to have my alfa romeo milano and i was to park my car i was turn my head to look back my car ....its amazing the feeling i was gettin with alfa!
matt is already in love with alfa romeo giulia!
15:10 - You're having too much fun. Great review, a joy to watch.
One of your best videos. Thanks.
This review exactly mirrored my experience with test driving this car
Wow, what a stand out design, I really love this car!
Your passion for cars definitely comes through in your reviews! Keep it up man!
Thank you, will do!
I just bought mine and I'm getting even more excited to drive it lol. Just waiting on Monday to call my insurance to make sure everything is all good!
Jesus!
When did you establish the other channel?
This dude make me keep watching all of his videos ! So fun and there's alot of detail informations !
Paddle shifters A++
The number one sport luxury sedan! Excellent review!
Cars/videos like this are why I subscribe do more videos on cars that car enthusiasts actually care about. Thank you for a great video on an excellent car.
Great review Matt!
Great vid Matt! Have really liked these since they came out, though don't know if it would be for me in the future. Still good to hear your review and how much you liked it.
Great machine! My next car 100%! Great review Matt!
Great review as always. Thanks
Great review mate. I had the same level of enthusiasm when I drove it. Just bought one and love it. Great effort from the Alfa Romeo team. My only regret is that I didn’t buy the tan leather interior.
Love the split screen, Matt.
Good review Matt!
Like it👍👍👍 Anther great Review Matt👍👍👍Have the Stelvio now, when the lease is up, this maybe next👍👍👍
Thank you for being a voice of reason, I personally think in the sport sedan class this car has the best value of all of them, there’s no other sedan that can match the power numbers for under 40k msrp (2018). As for the reliability I think due to the Chrysler manufacturing it’ll be okay. I also love how all the extras all the “Assists” are options and the simplicity of literally everything is magnificent. There’s nothing unnecessary on it and it’s refreshing in this modern age.
The brake-by-wire system used in Alfa Romeo Giulia is Continental MK C1, it is first application of such system in large production car.
Infotainment: the newer version of the software has Apple Car Play and Android Auto compatibility.
I’m so glad you’ve got a good road to test it on, I can tell you from ownership when you finally do start to find the ceiling of its limits and you look down you’re going so stupendously fast! How the hell can a saloon car do this! 😂
Awesome review as always Matt. I've waiting for this one for a while but I'm glad you had a great impression. I'm really enjoying mine and after 1300 miles it's still flawless. Perfect. But you're right on point about the infotainment and the breaking. But yeah the addictive nature of the drive makes you say who cares.
Robert Astoria is yours a lease
hows the tires doing? I'm considering buy ti sport. the engine is awesome. any problems? hows the mileage?
Wait did you mean 130k miles or 1300 miles?
Is this a reliable car?
razeilednavarro lol it’s an Alfa romeo of course it’s not reliable
We need a review the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio version
Love the music in the intro!
In your quick drive video of this car I commented that you could review my 2018 Ti sport. Good that you got one to review, but would of been cool for you to use mine :)
I love this car! If it wasn’t for the awful dealerships this car sits at, I would have one....great car! Great review! 🇮🇹💪🏼😍
The bolstering is amazing. I even like how they did the red accents for the factory
Greatest Alfa Giulia video.
Just looked at this car on the lot, definitely purchasing
You are reeeeally good Matt.
It has the 'it' factor that makes it the new Ultimate Driving Machine. BMW has always had that intangible quality that made it just a better car to drive. Over the years, BMW has lost a bit of it, but the Giulia captures all of it. I had the opportunity to drive one for a weekend and I was so impressed.
Okay, let’s be real. A Porsche 911 has always been the real “ultimate driving machine”. What BMW and Alfa fight for is “ultimate driving machine with 4 doors and a usable trunk”, and it seems like Alfa’s winning.
@@alex_b_9850 Well let me just tell you one thing! You are right. 🙂
Thank you. About to get a red 2020 ti sport awd!
I'd trade my WRX in a heartbeat if they ever come out with a manual version of the Ti.
lol @ manuals
Violated Gerber Baby lol at u
They had them with the Euro quads, nothing but problems sadly otherwise same, manual everyday all day.
Alfa Romeos are art, masterpieces on wheels
Spot on review Matt. I'm 800 miles into my 2018 Giulia Ti Sport Q4 and completely agree with everything you said. Infotainment? Eh, could be better, but the 2018+ has Android Auto / Apple Car play which makes up for the ease of use a bit. Brakes are very vague, but you get used to it. Engine/exhaust sound, could be a little louder... But that's where the "issues" stop. This car is a blast to drive on the highway, backroads, and even the city. - Loving mine.
ik this is late but I believe there's a firmware update available for these that gives it Android Auto and CarPlay
this car is perfect you just don't scratch the surface!
Picked up a 2019 Giulia Sport with 6k miles and the way I drive if this ever breaks down or has issues it will truly be a miracle. When the 4 year warranty is up I won’t have more then 20k miles on it and will either sell or buy another warranty.
Unfortunately it’s brake by wire causing the inconsistent pedal feel. Did you try out any of the autonomous features?
Great review great car
Car is stunning. And totally reasonable at its price point.
We’re all here for 11:55
Sir Sparco you legend
Thanks bro
Right on! "And it takes offfff man...." Nice to see it puts a smile on his face. I test drove one the other day and I fully understand.
Excellent! Especially since we are seriously considering an Alfa Romeo among a few others as our next vehicle (Mustang, Jeeps, Challenger, etc. I really miss having a V8...). I've been asking any and all Alfa Romeo Giulia owners this same question.
What was the first thing you noticed upon sitting inside the Giulia for the first time, that makes it stand out from the rest of the segment?
Followed up with - What other vehicles were you cross shopping at the time? Why did you ultimately end up purchasing the Alfa?
The last question has gotten the same response from the numerous people I have asked. Their answer is unanimous - "Because I wanted something new and different...". They [the owners] are tired of BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Lexus, Volkswagen and Volvo's. Italian style and influence goes a long way these days compared to the usual suspects.
I hit the 'Like' button and immediately added this to my Favorites.
Keep up the great work my friend.
alfa romeo is back.....germans and japanese cars they better hide!
Great review! I for sure want to buy a TI sport, but do you reccomend me to get the performance package? I mean what does that button on DNA does exactly?
Definitely getting this vehicle. Next vehicle. 👌🏽
Can you please do a review of the 986 Boxster it would help a lot! Thanks and great video as always. 👍🏼👍🏼
I love it haha this cars dope I want one so bad definitely ready to give up my charger lol
I recently purchased a 17 base model, I'm impressed with how it drives in D mode and also the placement of the electronic speedo is the best of any vehicle I've ever owned, I like the steering wheel all the way down my seat raised a little and in most cars this will hide the speedometer not true in this car it's perfectly visible.
How is it so far? Considering the 18 model.
1. Does the info without touch bother you?
2. How are oil changes without lack of dipstick?
@@nhsplayer07 I'm pretty sure it was just about the same as the 18 as far as the touch thing not quite sure what that's referring to and the lack of a dipstick would never bother me because I'm not changing my own oil, did it once and it's a hassle so I leave it to the professionals.
Great review! Lucky to drive that car, and luckier whoever owns it. Excellent edition! I own the predecessor Alfa 159 which I love so much. Timeless looks, so fun to drive are standards for AR. Basically if you cant afford a Ferrari, buy yourself an Alfa Romeo if you can!
Matt, how was the steering feel? Was there decent feedback?
The true enthusiasts car. Alfa is so unique and classy all while being sporty and nimble. Great cars. All car lovers should own them once
Its a beautiful car
Its gorgeous and every thing he said is right on with the experience of owning this car.
Nice review! Can’t wait to pick up mine (Ti with sport package white/black) tomorrow! Now I’m thinking about doing a mock commercial video for this awesome vehicle. (I’m a commercial director/dp).
I am so so excited that the chassis that's underpinning this car, the Giorgio platform, is going to be the backbone of the next-gen Charger and Challenger. Enlarged though, I hope. Don't need a muscle car as small as a Giulia.
Real world testing have seen the TI Q2 hit 0-60 in 5.1 and the Q4 doing it under 5.
Actually, that's sounds great
"that's one of those cars thats truly addicting to drive"
What are maintenance costs on these like? Like Acura money or Mercedes money?
Cars are now using video card suffixes? Great review Matt.
Pretty sure this will be my next car!
Isn't the Giulia Brake by Wire? May explain the your brake feel issue. Awesome review as always and beautiful car.
This is one of the first cars in a log time that I am seriously considering for replacing my BMW 128i as a daily driver. Too bad it does not come in manual but it can get very pricey: a Ti configured about the same as the one you tested riches quickly $49k (and I want the summer tires, the sport pack and the dual sunroof plus the beautiful Montecarlo Blue and brown interior)...
Definitely prefer the styling over a BMW
Will hold a gear at redline in manual mode? Or does it upshift for you?
I’m glad they didn’t pipe the fake engine sounds thru the stereo like some manufacturers are doing .
Matt! I think the volume nob is supposed to be loose, I believe you can skip songs by pushing the nob left or right? I am not sure, but I saw in Doug Demuro's video he explains it.
Were you driving around the Peters twp/Upper St Clair area?
Would you choose this or the supercharged XE?
Did they improve the brake situation in the 2018 model year?
Thanks for the great review, Matt. I'm strongly considering the Giulia Ti with AWD because I live in NE Ohio and want something I can enjoy all year round. My current BMW lease is up in 2 months. Decisions, decisions...
What did you decide?
Beautiful sedan, the Germans should hire some Italian designers from Alfa to design there hideous sedans..especially BMW.
Mercedes needs an Italian designer. Modern Mercedes all look the same.
They actually did that a couple decades ago with Walter de' Silva, who designed the Alfa 156 and 147. And they relegated him to Seat. :-/
Nero 675 BMW is not German.
bubelaJC actually it is so I don’t know what you’re going on about
The Germans are less hideous than the Japanese. That front end on the Lexi are especially heinous.
Hi Matt, considering leasing this for the wife. Is the manual mode fully manual? As in the revs will bounce off the limiter if u hit them? Thanks!
Now this is real luxury
two minutes in and i had to pause to say holy shit, that interior scheme is amazing! I have the metallic black giulia with the cream/wood interior. as much as i love the elegant look of it, that red and black sheeeeesh. that's hands down my favourite colour scheme.
Think I’m trading my focus st in for one of these pretty soon here love the car
nice!
I'm glad that it has been reliable for a week. XD Anyway seem like a GREAT car.
I love this video but will kindly point out that the gear selector in the Guilia and Stelvio is almost the same as that from the Levante. Hopefully it works better!
Does that car have wheel spacers? Because the normal giulia TI wheels in the back are not flush they are in set.
hey weird question, what is your comparison between this and a c300 in sport mode??
It's clean!!
Amazing car exciting, thank God there's something new ,so sick ofthe german cars.
Stop worrying of reliability it has a warranty.. its a hot quick affordable car
when I'm 2hrs away from dealership.. Reliability is a concern
even buying a used one? i’m thinking of getting a 17 but idk if i still get the warranty when buying used?
I need to see this car in person. It looks like it should be expensive, used,. But it is not.
Davison Thomas luxury cars depreciate faster although i see your point. the car is beautiful lol
I NEED THIS DAM CARRR
Seems like a good car!
Alfa Romeo....It’s a substitute and much more to an ultimate driving machine. Competitors need to step up the notch. Wait for the 6C.
This was an excellent review. Have loved the style of this car. Would like to get one after my cruze is paid off. My only concern is reliability. Any alfa owners? I own a land rover as well so I question that lol
I got 5.1 seconds 0-60 on my 2017 giulia ti sport pack q4 4.9 with 1 foot of rollout according to my dragy. Not bad for a 4 pot. I have the same tires on my car, PS 4 AS, besides rotors and pads my car is stock.
