    I don't exactly agree with the "more weight on the waist line = better" philosophy. While it is good to slim down your plate carrier, I do practice the "more weight on the core" way of doing things.
    Reason being that I find it A LOT harder to move through doorways *FAST* if you have a ton of shit on your waist. It doesn't automatically apply to most sutuations though because with one of those newer gucci tegris belts that slim you up a bit, it could be said that your philosophy would be reasonable. But what I find, and I'm not trying to be condescending here, is that you're moving a little slow when doing entries through thresholds, and putting a ton of stuff on your waist, maybe even double decking mags would be fatal. I have personally tripped because of double deckers and how much more stuff could you actually reasonably put on a belt other than 2 pistol mags, 1 rifle, maybe a dump pouch if you're airsofting, meds and your holster with an extra tourniquet? Not to mention if you're wearing a war belt without neorprene, the whole thing would spin around like a hula-hoop. Just to add a bit more, when moving in an out of vehicles, old vets with lower back problems would scream at you if you have a massive ifak at 6'oclock if you know what I mean. Just my 2 cents. Hope you don't find this offensive or something like that.

      Wow, you hearted my comment. Now i feel bad for being a bit harsh with my comment lol. I might sound like I'm complaining about everything but it's only the weight issue that I have a problem with really. the Entire video is incredibly filled with top notch information for people looking for a good guide for belts and direct action gear but what my comment is about is just my observations. Hey, maybe my methods are flawed since I'm not an operator but I hope I could at least provide you with my perspective.

      Don't feel bad man. This kind of comment is exactly what we all need and what we highly appreciate. Every small bit of experience where you can learn from pushes us all further in getting better at what we want to achieve. Fresh views on these subjects give new perspectives and can actually help others.
      The "more weight on the waist line" principle is something we actually picked up from instructors we have trained with in the past & was very sensible for us. That's why we included it in the video. We do want to mention that this principle may not overwrite the fundamental factors we talked about (easy accessibility, mobility efficiency, minimal stuff).
      Of course double stacking pouches on one another is something we avoid as well, because it makes you way too bulky especially on your 3 o'clock. But we've already seen configurations whereas other equipment is carried in smart ways. For example:
      - Extra AR mags double stacked with a PI mag or a flashlight/multittool on the 5 and 7 o'clock
      - A knife on the 1 o'clock
      - A magnet next to the buckle to quickly dispose of empty mags
      - A slick dump pouch stacked on top of an AR pouch
      - A dump pouch on the 3 o'clock below the mag pouches with an extra MOLLE panel
      So, there are many more options that have proven to be effective for different people. This all of course depends on what you need & what you aim to do with it. 🤙 | Viper

    Got some pistol and rifle pouches from direct action a little while ago to change my belt set up .Very much worth it, and also love the different colors they offer (quite a fan of the grey)
    It is also very handy that the rifle pouch can fit several types of mags, so you dont have to hassle with changing pouches when using different platforms

      Agreed, they did a great job on designing those pouches. | Viper

    Nice vid bros, DA equipment is really worth the bugs, for sure. I use the DA TYPHOON chest rig in combination with a TT gun belt, pistol mag pouches by Templars Gear and rifle pouches by Pentagon, they fit also my G36 and AK :) As always, a great inspiration for spending money on the cool things of life :D

    On the tourniquet pouch is it trauma shear capable or where would they be worn

    • @ReconBrothers
      @ReconBrothers  3 года назад +1

      Not on the tourniquet pouch itself, but it can be worn inside the IFAK. If you'd prefer to wear it more exposed, shear pouches also exist: shop.reconbrothers.com/product/direct-action-shears-pouch-modular-custom/ | Viper
