I love the reaper cookie emote. It is a reference to the old "Cookiewatch" stop motion films Overwatch did for the holidays early Ow1 where Reaper and Tracer fought for Santa's cookies.
Also, I love how in D.Va's EDM skin, the fully charged ult at the bottom glows RGB and cycles, and it even shows up on the killfeed.

I actually REALLY enjoy the whole tech vibe that they have gone with in ov.2. I just kinda hope that they make the battlepasses more themed to a specific time or season:)
Honestly I think it’s quite smart that they came out with the gimmick-y themed seasons instead of the season themed seasons. I feel like when games like fall guys and fortnite do this it holds them back from better ideas and leaves players wanting more than they can provide
@@jaquaviusvonquayquayiii5463 agreed. I mean, I don't mind winter/summer themed skins but over the years I got just tired with costumey Halloween skins, Christmas skins and Chinese new year skins. Those skins were nice, but I just didn't like to use them that often since they felt like costumes. Always loved the ones released during the anniversary event or even the summe games event since some skins were summer-related.

Just a heads up: Kiriko is available on level 1 for OW1 players and premium battle pass owners. Other players need to unlock it at level 55.

I think I saw somewhere that it doesn’t stack. Granted, unless you kill 76, you’re pretty much dead anyway. Now reaper point blank or hog, with K-Fox ult. Scary lol

Andrew, please make a guide on how to play the game as a team, my friends just picked up the game and they kinda need it, rushnd down alone as healers or dps, not very fun.

Holy…I wasn’t sure if her ultimate was actually gonna be good. But that opening made it much more obvious just how much of an effect it has.
It also shows that it shouldn't be overpowered if you have good positioning, just like a Baptiste window.

I just hope that the battle pass isint too grindy for 10,000xp per tier
I expect it to be the same as current player levels. So about 3-4 quick play matches for 10k xp.
Also you can earn XP via daily and weekly challenges. I don't think it will be too bad.
That Reaper Cookie Emote is a reference to the Christmas Animation Blizzard made :)

she's a sup that has movement abilities and can make plays, give it a week or two before enough DPS players cry and she gets the Brig treatment.
The cookie emote is actually a throwback to an old overwatch stop-motion animation. Where Reaper wants a cookie for Christmas.

When i first saw genji's mythic skin i was like "ok that's cool. Don't really care that much but i'll work to get it." But after seeing the customization I WANT. I wish you could set skins to favorites and then choose a setting that randomizes between your favorite skins.

Like the new one will sometimes show if u died to an ability, and it doesnt often tell u if u were booted off the map, I'm gonna miss seeing 3 BOOP kills in the feed

Don't. That's the mentality people need to shake off. The core game is free. That's the main event. The skins are just really good-looking garnish, but not worth your time or money unless you decide they are. You certainly don't need to unlock everything in the game to have fun with it.

I'm worried about the monetization. Battle passes are already a commitment mechanic and it seems like it doesn't even give you back the credits or overwatch coins or whatever to buy the next one. What I liked about ow1 was that you could unlock (almost) everything in game without real life currency and it seems like in this case some of the cosmetics will be gated behind a paywall :/
It's necessary though. Overwatch 1 wasn't getting any new content at all because it wasn't profitable. At least now it's there and you can choose whether or not you want it.

The Reaper emote is a reference to that christmas short where reaper and tracer are action figures and reaaper is trying to steal a cookie, then fails, then gets a cookie from santa.
The short is called "Cookiewatch" btw
So is the entire battle pass purchasable with game credits and not real money? Thats great, my favourite thing so far about the game are the redesigns and im super curious about the customizable skins, i think ive underrated the game till now
it takes you 4 months of free playing grinding/saving up credits to buy a single season of battle pass.
The Battle Pass is available for Overwatch Coins. That's the new currency, not the Overwatch Credits which is the OW1 currency.
Overwatch Coins can be bought or earned through challenges. However you will not earn enough coins in one season to buy the battle pass.
You'll earn like 540 coins completing all missions in the season. So you could buy the battle pass of season 2 at the end of season two with the coin rewards from seasons 1 and 2.

14:00 Kenneth, i think you are absolutely correct: Genji.ver1 is naked. most of gen1 has its surface replaced with something "beefed-up" (hoodie, sub-baggy pants, padding/armor on arms), but his head is pretty much unchanged, arguably bc it already had to be armored as a highly mobile and lightweight ninja. Feel like gen1 was genjis new set of "skin" after he was nearly killed and saved in his lore, so now gen2 he put some actual modern "clothes" on lol

While I’m glad the RNG aspect of loot boxes is gone, by removing them entirely I’m worried about our options for earning coins to spend in the shop, and how reliant we’ll have to be on the battle pass or micro transactions.
Do you know if there are other methods available for us to earn resources as we once did with playing certain roles or leveling up?
as far as we know you can earn 60 credits per week doing challenges, which means you can buy a skin (2000 credits) after playing about 33,3 weeks straight or 8.3 months.

The value doesn't seem bad at all compared to what you get from battle passes in other titles. Looks pretty good so far, I'd say.
The BP is pretty fair.
The real ripoffs are the shop and the option to skip BP-levels.
Obviously all of this is optional, and to be fair: "whales" can't spend unlimited money on the game. Heck the old lootbox system was more expensive for those that actually bought loads of boxes.
@@peterpan4038 I get that people have concerns over skin prices, but the battlepass system is still miles better than what we had before. To get a specific skin from lootboxes you basically had to roll the dice over and over. At least now you can see the skin, assess the price, and make an informed decision. If you decide the skin is too expensive, you can choose not to buy it and continue playing the game as much as you want. You don't NEED the skin, you only WANT it.

Veteran players with way to many hours of OW1 playtime all scream "yeah, but you could just play the game to earn currency/ loot boxes". What they forget: it would take a new f2p player AGES to earn all those old skins even if the system hadn't changed one bit.
That and the devs added very few things to OW1 lootboxes past launch, compared to the amount of stuff that is going to be released in the OW2 system.
People bought loot boxes worth literal billions... that system was rightfully condemned as well! Veteran players just forget that part OW of history because they already got all the lootbox stuff.
The OW2 f2p system naturally is a bit less generous with the free stuff than the payed OW1 version. But the 40$ game OW1 robbed plenty of credit cards too, loot boxes are nasty for people with lacking self control and kids in general.
@@peterpan4038 The BP is fair except for the Kiriko part, locking "early acess" to new heroes behind the pass is pretty scummy.
@@peterpan4038 this ain’t true though, with the loot boxes you can get shit for free, with the battle pass you are locked behind a pay wall, and if you want to argue this are gone forever once events are gone, nah, the anniversary events allow all skins to be unlockable and each event allows you to buy previous skins and shit from that one event
Not to mention lootboxes are so easy to get, you get 3 from the arcade if you win 9 games, 1 per level, and you can even get loot boxes just from playing a specific role in qp or competitive, or even then you can get coins easily and buy the skins you want FOR FREE
My favorite part is how the game isn’t even out yet and those skins are 31% off😂
