What was the point of the paint or the cut line. All you needed was the hole.
prob to mark the distances between the screwdrivers ( different weights) but then again equal distance wouldve worked too
@H3llSkullnaaaaa
Slides in easier. ,oohhh yeaaa baby
It got you to comment, page interactions
@joshhorn5131 true
Nice! This technique is called "over-engineering".
in layman's terms, dumb as fook
とても素晴らしいですよね!
無駄なものほど価値があります。
動画にするためにものづくりをする、目的と手段が逆になっていますよね。
Nah its call waste of time 😂
@americoramos1616 That’s… what over-engineering is, essentially.
Das mus man studiert haben!!! So was umständliches!!!
I don't always paint my tools when organizing my work bench, but when I do, I make sure the whole world sees it.
I want to take this opportunity to say this: 😆🤣😜😂
Spray chalk.
Maybe a bit of misplaced criticism.. he used spray chaulk. Does anyone see paint at the end? okay..
@musicman1685 Yes I do.
I used to paint mine pink... No one stole them...
If you like to make things unnecessarily complicated, this is a good idea.
Yes as a pencil mark would do.
my engineer!
People on RUclips LOVE to do that, I've discovered
@richardsoane6192 You´re absolutely right, I would have chosen an orange spray and apply snoopy stickers on it. A nice birthday present, eh´
Most woodworkers spend more time making stuff like this than anything else
I just put mine in a tool box. That’s why I bought it.
But is it a blue toolbox?
Thanks for letting us know how you did it. How else do you do thing? We are all dying to know what the youtube commenter does.
@PaulF72-busted! 😣
@Timmy3Tone I bet you're a blast at parties.
@Timmy3ToneI mean you could have just kept scrolling g but you left a stupid comment instead neat
You painted the screwdrivers?
That's a chalk spray
It's can get wipe like the wood
You ever turn someone into a newt?
They get better...
@Ursicus-td8zt legendary pull
which is fine... it's not like it denigrates the quality of the tool.
that's one way to add extra steps to a simple job.
How to watch tutorial videos:
Step 1: Spray maskout paint on your screen.
Step 2: Wipe the maskout paint off your screen.
Step 3: Tell yourself "this was totally necessary."
Step 4: Watch video.
Now I can store my blue screwdrivers in ascending size and shape !!😂😂😂😂
Hahaha too many genius ideas on RUclips 😂😅
@bansibs You watched him clean dry paint off of wood and you're worried about the metal?
You and the comment you replied to are both fools.
I store mine in a 3 dollar Temu bag. Waited 10 days and was sorted. Hardly had to do a darn thing 🫡
Should be sorted by colour, like books in a library!
Just dont put them next to the purple ones
Great use of a scrap piece of wood. I personally like the french cleat.
That's what that's called ? I'm no carpenter by any means. I've been making those forever. Never knew the name.
I like the way they missed an opportunity to have flexible modular storage by only putting the support piece on one bit of wall instead of full width
@My-Name-is-Mud-1969
Морзе . Так , вроде бы .
I agree. I suspect most of negative Nelly commentors had, or still have no idea what a French cleat is.
My brain 😂 was waiting for something complicated made simple. I got the opposite.
You can always get away with math, but if you can go faster why do it. With this paint job it ensures that all the screwdrivers fit well without having to measure each of them.
French 'cleat'. Nice work
Love a French cleat! I have one rail running around the top of my studio to hang tools, brushes, paintings, etc.
You just unlocked a really old memory. When I was a kid back in the early 90s my dad made my little league team a bat rack that would hook onto chain-link fence that was a supersized version of this. My dad was a real handyman. He did all sorts of handyman stuff for the league. I still remember after we started getting all this stuff he made, other teams started getting them.
Cool now show all the tear out.
And explain why you couldn't just drill a bunch of evenly spaced holes.
bro SHUT up.
And, he ruined the screwdrivers by spray painting them.
@vshah1010 Ruined is complete hyperbole. He painted it for engagement bait, and it very clearly worked as intended.
@vshah1010 LOL.
1.) Not ruined
2.) You're a whiny little fella
It is a tool holder. Why would you even mention the tear-out on the underside?
I use the Screwdriver draw in my tool chest. I keep my hammer is the hammer drawer....
If I use drawers, things I put in them will stay in that drawer. Never seen again until the day that I move 5 or 10 years from now.
跟我一樣
我就算放在抽屜
幾乎也是常常用的到!
說真的,也不難找!
Draw?
only good until a relative buys you a screwdriver for christmas ???????
l just let mine be free range on their own tabletop.
I've heard free range is healthier for them.
Definitely sustainable and cruelty free😂
lol got you to paint you tools blue!
Don't blame him, everyone has his own way of doing things, end result is perfect 👌
😂 not everyone should make a vid about doing things… how they do them
The way you present is top notch This deserves recognition.
Actually, I thought it was sweet that he built a little nest for his screwdriver family.
It's a pretty dysfunctional family.
What must it be like to only have 6 screwdrivers?
His dad: "Who the hell painted all my screwdrivers?!"
Why paint the screwdrivers?
It is just chalk spray and comes right off. And obviously it made the lines so he could see where to cut
So that's how you find your screw drivers when you need them
You can buy a plastic one at lowes for 2 bucks Mine is 25 years old.
😂 I always throw those screw driver holders away to bulky for my liking plus I have them in a tool bag to make them portable
He's doing on a super low budget as he can't even afford a set of matching screwdrivers
Igen, legyünk igénytelenek, te majom.
Mine keeps falling off the walls from the weight, 😢
@aaronfromnz1 😂😂😂😂😂😂 do they have to match to do the job
This would require me being able to find all of my screwdrivers when I’m looking for them, which we all know isn’t happening
Great for your 5 best unmatched screwdrivers you found
Everyone saying this is “over engineering” has not spent enough time in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
If you have workers of various heights, no you cannot just “add a hole and you’re done”. Imagine being 5’ woodworker and you try to pull out an 8” screw driver? The slot is needed.
When you have that continual improvement mindset, the paint makes sense over standard measuring methods if it could save you even a couple of seconds per jig/ tool holder/ whatever.
Honey. I worked as a manufacturing tech at a gas purification company for 4 years. Our products were made to clean room standards for microchip fab intalls.
Not only is this over engineered, but it's sloppy.
The resting holes aren't counter sunk, the center lines should be measured rather than spray painted, the entire assembly sticks out from the wall twice as far as necessary, all while there are better off the shelf options.
But you're the kinda guy who thinks, "why buy a solution when I can put my community college accounting degree to use and pretend to be someone who works for a living" yeah?
Ridiculous
Completly absurd.
@JimTArmesgas purification for 4 years, then you should know better than most: when auditing season comes around they love to see standardized practices that produce repeatable results. Items like this screw driver shelf is a good example of that. Unnecessary on the outside but practical within the company. If it can help maintain 5S policy, the auditor will be happy. And it’s not sloppy if the other tool mounting shelves share the same system. Not that it matters, but since we’re highlighting our credentials I was an Engineer at a medical company for 7 years, then 2 years engineering in construction, then 2 years in defense where the pentagon would audit us bi-monthly. Now I work in casted pumps used in oil/gas and also casted agricultural equipment. I would’ve loved to work directly in gas so I could be rich but I wasn’t smart enough to
@PolicyReport-rt3pwyeah silly college! 😋
OK, but during a project like this, you just know there'll be some reason you have to get another screwdriver.
Nobody needs 7 screwdrivers! Ar fi o nebunie!
How else are you gonna get paint all over your mismatched screwdriver set?
For those that failed basic math😂😂
Here... genius = someone who spent too much time thinking about improving something that didn't NEED improving.
...
FYI- people on stimulants do this FREQUENTLY! 😂 😂
And people that come to comments to whine - are whiny little liberals.
Ive never seen one without most screw drivers being missing.
You know, I can’t lie when he first started to bore the holes. I thought he was installing magnets.
When you can't find a pen or pencil, or anything that could make a mark, but you have a can of spray paint.
I counted six pointless steps and two unsolved problems.
When you're bored and have half a day to waste your time
the paint line is a nice trick to get more viewers engagement. The more engagement the hightest rating in the RUclips also..... and I am here commenting !! lol
So many comments read like the video is titled "THE ONLY CORRECT WAY EVER IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD TO DO THIS ONE THING"
For those wondering. The purpose for painting the screwdrivers were to make a matching set 😂
I expected all the screwdrivers to still be blue. 😅
To pull straight put instead of having to lift up to pull out. Paint was to make sure the slots were wide enough that the screw drivers could slide out easily. Means you have more usable wall space for hanging other tools, and saves time everytime you grab a tool, and makes removing and replacing tools easier
This technique is called, "Content Creation" the act of overdoing something to stretch out something that didnt need stretching out
I’m struggling to understand why you added like 3-4 extra steps that were pointless to the process
Brilliant drs. Mow theres s guy who cares about his tool and keeps his garage/workshop tidy. Very practical too. 👏👏👏👏👏
two parallel planks would solve this problem in 5 minutes
And he`s the time to clean the paint off his tools too ! What a guy.
I can’t imagine having this much time to do that.
This is why hardware stores keep spray paint in the locked cabinet
So…a pencil was too much work, whereas painting them, then cleaning the whole thing made more sense to you?
Perfect gift for fathers day, organize dads screwdrivers
wow, and here I thought a ruler and a pencil was the way to solve this. Guess I'm not smart enough.
Nice hack for getting blue screwdrivers and a board to hang them in all in one job.
1. Watched the vid...
2. Thought about the comment section before looking...
3. Said out loud "this is not going to end well"...
You guys did not disappoint.
Das dümmste was ich seit langem gesehen habe
Super clean
Love the hanging method
This is an example of how to turn a 60 second job into a 30 minute job and use way more supplies than necessary! Geez!
how to make a simple task harder than it needs to be
So much extra effort put into your 7th grade woodworking class project. I bet you got a gold star that day.
Awwwwww are you butt hurt? lol
Is it just me, or did the bench saw sound like the alien signal from Close Encounters!!!???
Nice hanger, at least. The strip on the wall that has the angle where the screwdriver rack was hung on..you can do whole rooms with those hanging strips; theyre sturdy, and because the item you're hanging is not nailed to the wall, you can switch all your cabinets and racks around with little effort. I saw a whole pantry made with this same system, and it was awesome, the homeowner had unlimited ways of rearranging the entire pantry, simply and easily. Show more of that!!
You can just skip the preparation to the DRILLING secrion 😂😂😂😂
Jesus just put them in random places around the shop like a real man
Genius level 🤣
That fabrication was made many moons ago
In steel and wood give me a break genius level
I use a magnet on the pegboard behind the workbench. And the drawer in a toolchest for the good ones.
The things they come up with when trying to convince their wives all that equipment was a good investment.
the vid would have been funnier if at the end when he puts the tools back the rack he made. They still had the paint on them from laying them down to mark where too cut it hahaha
The idea is exactly what I needed I learned a lot from it.
Man really said “it’s the simple” and kept it pushing
People hang screwdrivers? I mean I guess this concept is transferable to tools that actually make sense to hang but like … toolboxes should have a drawer very capable of holding these lol
I'd need to make dozens of them to store all my screwdrivers!
Why do it the easy way if you can make it twice as complicated!👍
Dollar store sell it for $1.25 ....😅
French cleat! Love it!
When you have everything you need except a tape measure
I love the floating shelf with the cleat in the back but you make such a great shelf and then don't sand or finish it? I dunno. It's kind of fancy engineering to just leave so raw. But I love your skills.
that's why all my screwdrivers are blue... SON!?!!!!!
The most over-complicated way to make a driver rack, lmao
Definition of "genius" must've changed some time in the last few years.
Make the board half the width and just do the holes, you can put the screwdrivers in from the top
Why not screw the board directly into the French cleat? What’s the second piece of wood for?
If they all set flush on the top, why not just drill holes in the top and drop them in that way? I don’t understand the slats
I love french cleats. The same is hanging at my tool wall
I could do this for my screwdrivers but my shop wall is only 50 ft long.
Now you've got paint all over your screwdrivers lol
Рукастый! Да ещё с умом! Молодец, работяга
You now have to memorize the order of the drivers
35k likes for a something that could be done better and simpler in a quarter of the time. The sheer dull-headedness of RUclips viewers never disappoints.
I use that cleat method for hanging tvs. No articulable arm but if you just need it mounted flat there’s no better way
Now I know those are my blue tools.
Bought the P10C a month ago, love how it feels. Just fell in love with CZ at this point, going to expand my CZ collection soon
That is so clever and beautifully done! Pride of craftsmanship!!
But.....I have dozens of screwdrivers... I'll just leave them in the drawer..
Maybe it was raining, and he couldn't mow the lawn?
