Talking about Rin's reaction to Sae becoming a midfielder, I always thought most of it was due to Rin's view of his brother. To him, Sae hates losing, Sae's the best, someone who won't bend no matter what. Becoming the best strikers was not only their shared dream but also a way for them to him and Sae because soccer was preassumably always a big thing for Sae and Rin always just watched as he did in this episode before he stoled that goal. Playing soccer and chasing that dream was the only way for him to bond with the brother he loved so much after Sae left, it held a lot for importance for Rin. For Sae to suddenly come back after 4 years and change that dream he's been chasing for so long and that Rin's been working towards on his own, for him to bend, was shattering his view of Sae, his amazing big brother who never loses and never backs down. It contradicts everything he knew about Sae. This wasn't a simple position change in Rin's eyes but a change to Sae as a person, something he never seen before. And it proved that Sae never held that dream in the same importance as him. Not to mention he probably doesn't understand what Sae saw that made him changed his dream, he said himself that Sae's perfomance in the club was good to an outsider like Rin watching in so whatever was happening to Sae's mindset didn't show on the surface and Rin is undeniably one of the best in japanese high school soccer so he never faced this difficulty Sae did, to him this came out of nowhere. So his first reaction to that was to deny it. Not to say he was correct or that he even went about it in a good way. I just find it understandable as an emotional reaction. People around us changing could be confusing sometimes and Rin really admired his brother. From there, they both escalated the situation.
I really like how you guys noticed that their is some truth to what Itoshi Sae was saying, not all for nothing. Rin continues to play for the wrong reasons, focusing on his brother.
i think brothers competing and seeking to be better than one another is good motivation in any field but not when it's negative. i think there is no wrong reason as long as it drives you to do your best except when it turns evil. i also think that it does not mean that you don't love the sport. i think it's impossible to really want to be better than someone at something you don't highly value or doesn't mean anything to you so i think that they both aside from their relationship have a lot of passion about football.
Even though Rin's reasoning is a bit shrewd, to him it's all about fulfilling the dream he dreamt 'with' his brother. He feels especially betrayed because his brother gave up even though he wanted to continue... It's like losing your other half that is essential to get to the next level. Sae should never have encouraged Rin to become the best striker and then leave him in the middle of nowhere.
Sae wasn't going to leave him in the middle of nowhere. He was still going to be his side as a midfielder. If he loves Sae so much you would think he would be more understanding towards the person he loves the most
@@honsai7409 Sae was the one who inserted the idea of the best striker into Rin's mind and then withdrew like it was nothing. He broke both of their dreams. All of Rin's work until now to become the best with his brother is worthless now. All of his support system collapsed in an instant.
A midfielder supports a striker… Sae literally said he will be the best midfielder and Rin can be the best striker because he realized that he may not have what it takes but his brother might and Rin took it bad because he was following his brother’s initial dream.
so itoshi sae was kind of like supportive role something in midfield doing all those good passes for his team? i just notice he keeps doing all those good passes to his team

She’s absolutely right. Spoilers Ahead!! In the manga there’s two types of players the talented learners and geniuses and seeing rin be good at football even when playing for the first time. He said that he feels the hotspot and runs there to score his goals and sae said you rely too much on your gut. Which kinda shows that sae is more rational and thinks about what is the best choice and not rely on gut feeling kinda like isagi and kaiser. So I’m pretty sure sae is a talented learner and rin is a genius and sae knew it. He knew rin could be the best if he tried because he had it in him so if didn’t follow sae and limit his dream like sae had to. In the last season the world 5 match the real striker was talking about how he destroyed sae maybe Thats the reason sae gave up his dream and knew there were much better players than him
Luna was not talking about destroying Sae at all, he just suggested he knew Sae, that's all. Don't give misinformation. Sae "gave up" on his dream because he realized his talents were more suited to become a midfielder because his play style is based on logic and calculation, unlike Rin and other strikers who "relies on their guts" like said during this episode
25:00 En el manga nos dieron más flash-back de Rin y Sae, y su verdadera razón. Se aclararon varias cosas, pero para que animen eso todavia queda un buen tiempo. Jsjsjsj

Rin was more spoiled than Sasuke. You always back up your bro even if you disagree

what a great episode, this is amazing please continue
It’s so fun to see you guys debating on the brothers situation!
I would also say that they are only showing things from Rin's perspective so you never know what Sae's intentions were
so itoshi sae was kind of like supportive role something in midfield doing all those good passes for his team? i just notice he keeps doing all those good passes to his team
Yup, that's his role as midfielder
In the light novel its told that Rin didn't get scouted because his team was shit and hilding him back not because he was less talented than Sae.
Even though Rin's and Sae's Backstory is sad there are more characters with more sadder backstories like Kaiser,Ness,Hiori and Snuffy

I agree with the talented learners and geniuses part. It's kinda obvious that's what it's trying to suggest but people don't understand it
Smh how could she forget bachiras mom. The believer of following whats inside 'monster'

They are like Itachi and Sauske
crying about anime is crazy
its not unlike getting emotional watching a movie. anime is animation but the content remains of the same emotional intensity.
it's not
