  • Imam Hassan ibn Ali (Al-Hasan), the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), was the second Imam in Shia Islam. He was born in 625 CE and was known for his piety, knowledge, and patience. Imam Hassan became the leader of the Muslim community after the assassination of his father, Imam Ali, in 661 CE. However, his leadership was marked by political challenges, particularly from Muawiya ibn Abi Sufyan, the governor of Syria.
Imam Hassan's shahadat (martyrdom) occurred in 670 CE (50 AH) under suspicious circumstances. According to historical accounts, he was poisoned by his wife, Ja'da bint al-Ash'ath, who was allegedly instigated by Muawiya. Imam Hassan had aimed to avoid further bloodshed within the Muslim community by making a peace treaty with Muawiya, but the latter's desire to establish a dynasty led to his betrayal.
Imam Hassan is revered for his patience and commitment to unity, despite the political strife. His martyrdom
