    Hoo boy, The Half Engine. A video with a whopping 1GB worth in size, has a full fledged voice cast AND is eighteen minutes long.
    This video is without a doubt, the BIGGEST project I've undertaken this year, with production starting back in August, only now finishing up mid-October!
    This project is a labor of love; both to the story and to the horror genre as a whole! I am a big horror nut and really wanted to tap into a more darker side of Thomas horror videos that what I have usually uploaded.
    A big thank you to all the VAs who participated and agreed to be a part of this production; everyone did a bang-up job!
    And a MASSIVE thank you to Unhelpful Git, OhShootTre and KiwiConductor for the model of the titular Half Engine! The end product turned out wonderfully!
    I hope you all enjoy this very dark and spooky tale!

    My theory as to why Gordon was spared is that the Half-Engine only goes after those who mock her appearance, as that's what drove her to madness. Gordon only said he didn't believe she existed, so I think she charged him as a warning. Something along the lines of, "I am very real. Disrespect the legends, and they will come for you."

As a matter of fact, if I ever do get round to it, I think I might just include this story in the form of an entire character arc. An all-round effing brilliant adaption of one of the most demented stories to come out of this fandom. And bloody hell, the model of the Half-Engine's ghost is the cherry on top. Props to everyone involved here: the atmosphere, pacing and editing were all pitch-perfect, to say nothing of the voicework, music and sound effects. Timothy is nothing compared to this, for the love of Awdry that was a poor engine who was needing something. What I have no idea, she was a Terrier and Seeing as I am using Terriers (Locomotive and Dogs) for my own logo, I am shocked. Stroudly would of been the only one that could have helped her, may someone write a happy ending for her.
      Ghosts are in my opinion are imprints much as in Pottermore, but when you are in a world of living trains, they are surely more. This makes my character Blake Stone look tame and his face is literally riveted together, being a Toy train in a world of living toys. Granted he is far from innocent in how he gets the way he is.

    • @hehe-IgoBRRRR
      @hehe-IgoBRRRR Год назад +1

      @@Plokman040 I wasn't necessarily comparing Timothy but you're still right. Today Timothy isn't really anything that special, but I was a kid when I first saw his untold story videos, and you know most kids can easily get scared of something, let alone something from a childhood show. And Timothy didn't really have that much of competition either; Clinchfield 311 wasn't that all scary to me because I always thought that entity was a regular locomotive with red smoke and headlight even as a kid.

    • @Plokman040
      @Plokman040 Год назад +2

      @@hehe-IgoBRRRR Fair enough. Red smoke you say? guess it was using Doc brown's prestolog, boiler explosion!
      Seriously though why are so many trains seen as evil or ghosts, this poor engine has a reason but I never understood songs like "Long Black Train" as a metaphor for doomed souls. Almost all American steam have black paint so yeah if the thing has a certain number I'll get out of dodge but the face of Thomas is a 4-8-4 if you grew up with shinning time. 844 is quite a long machine as is her cousins Challenger and Big Boy but they are benign if not pure locomotives.
      Sorry for the rant. But indeed, Timothy never scared me as I never saw him till I was 20 and I'm more scared for any engine working at scrapyards.

    Very well executed! Im highly impressed by the custom half engine models. Beautifully horrifying modeled faces, not just a flat texture. The voice acting was also very well done.
    Nice touch with the soft cries in the distance long before she shows up. Was that the amnesia “suitors” theme playing during her attack? Sounds familiar. Nice choice regardless.
    Superb camera work too. I had to watch this one a couple times. I hope we get to see more of this half engine in the future. Seems a shame for her to only get one appearance.
    One small criticism. While she sits idle out of the shed… “singing”? Perhaps an “idle” expression in contrast to her “attack” expression would have been a touch more fitting. And perhaps sitting sorta tucked away amongst some trucks or inside a dark shed rather than in plain sight.
    Beyond that, wonderful work. I will be watching your carrier with great interest 🎃
    Edit: im also a major fan of the horror genre. I certainly hope you will continue to play and experiment with this genre!

I also love how much the engines' crew is involved in this story. It adds a sense of realism. It's amazing how far you've grown in the Trainz and Thomas community in such a short time. I'm looking forward to what you've got next. Last thing. Are you going to do a sequel to this, or will the engine just appear as a recurring or guest character in future stories? Maybe you could do one where she meets her brother Stepney and finally finds peace.

      It would be a shame to let the model go to waste. Also, is this story free to adapt? Because I'd like to do my own RWS/AU version of this. I feel this story would do best in 1925 as only five engines really are present throughout it, the same as it would be in 1925 just after James and his stories happened. One critique I have of this story is that it switches from James to Gordon as the main character. I'm not blaming you if you adapted this, but I feel it should've opened with James going home and seeing the engine. It would've lessened the focus off him because as it stands, it seems like it switched main leads pretty fast. I do like that Thomas is telling the story for a change.
