  • Yesterday mid-afternoon this picture sequence began, with the camera focused upon the sky 90° above any of my local horizons. There were a few which actually could have precipitated for a few moments while their warm-to-hot updrafts were strong enough. No precipitation made it to the surface above my location. No thunder was heard and the lightning detector did not register any discharges within a 40 miles radius. However, yesterdays convection was not in vane, as all the clouds which evaporated moistened up the atmosphere in this region and it still remains aloft today. With more tropical moisture flowing to the north from the Baja Mexico region, there remains a moderate possibility of a shower, or "prowling" thunderhead to manifest itself over the mountain ridges. Temperature this afternoon is predicted to have a high of 83°F over Bear Valley. I may photograph a similar piece of the sky today, if the atmosphere looks promising. Good to see you and ENJOY your day!
