Any advantages to this over any other Bus Powered USB 2.0 hubs?

That is a great question, but this is pretty much just a standard two USB 2.0 bus powered hub. It does provide 5 Volts, but a lower amount of amperage at 0.5 Amps. This should be more than adequate to drive a mouse and keyboard off of one USB port.
