I think it is entirely possible that he had practiced hung fut and choy li fut (possibly from his 4 years spent teaching in Taiwan). It is also important to note that Taiwan in the 60s was a hotbed for talented martial artists escaping the mainland. He uses a whipping energy in an interesting way. He also understood how to use short elbow energy.(close range fajin jolting energy). His elbows seem to be made out of condensed rubber. A remarkable Master.
