Actually, I've been doing the Oatmeal over Iron lustre for a number of years and I find that if you dilute the Oatmeal to the consistency of pancake batter, you can do a wider band to about halfway down the mug, and get a beautiful melding of the layers with a nice "hare's fur" rendition in the top layer and not have the glaze run to the bottom
Ooh good to know!!
Absolutely gorgeous. Thank you so much for all the great tips throughout the video. I’m a new potter and extra new glazer.
Glazing can be very intimidating! Why record perfectly good piece!
Professional-looking job on the business card/tags. Very nice. Very interesting process. I read up some on pottery glazes and how they work. The color change between glazed before and after firing is amazing to see. What at first appears dull and muted really comes alive in the kiln. Very pretty. 10:02 Reminds me of abalone shells, minus some of the pearlescence.
U do the SAME thing I do with the layering & keeping up with the coats. It DEFINITELY helps. Youve made me subscribe. Keep em comin lady. Thanks!😊
I will!! Thank you!
Your pottery is gorgeous! Leisa showcased your artistry...so beautiful!
I tuned in 15 minutes after she posted. At that moment I realized she and I are in different time zones! Duh, me! Thank you so much!!

Hi Pammy!! Glad to have you. Thank you!
What cone do you fire to in order to achieve these results?
Love the instructions with reasons and the realistic advice, thanks for a great video
I usually fire to cone 6 (if I’m using ancient copper on anything) but sometimes 5.5 (standard) or 5 with 10 minute hold(anything I’m refiring to eliminate pin holes) - For bright colors leave as much room as possible between your pieces. Good airflow is required, I’m pretty sure.
Coming over from Sutton's Daze to watch!
Hi Brandy! I’ve learned so much from
Leisa! Glad to have you here!
I’m so glad you are here, Brandy!
Oat meal, in your video, is really thick. I’m just gonna fill it is the first time I see video showing how to apply a sick glaze like peanut butter! No, I know it works (in the past, I saw in other videos that people would diluted the glaze a little.)
I’ve seen this, also. This jar has lasted forever doing it my way. : )
Leisa sent me!
Theresa! Thanks for coming over to my channel! Leisa is so kind.
LEISA FROM SUTTONs DAZE SENT ME OVER!! how do i get on your web site? SUPER GREAT POTTERY!
Hi, Yooper,

Things are still getting organized around my new business. Best way to see pottery is here and my Facebook page Tiny Chick Pottery.
Hello! What clay did you use in this video? thank you!
That clay is cone 6 white stoneware from Trinity in Dallas. Thanks for watching!! 💕
I love your videos. What is the name of the clay you use?
Thank you so much! I was using white stoneware. Now I’m using B mix 5.
@@TinyChickPottery Thank you so much for your reply. I was using standard 553 but I got a lot of pinholes so I throw Little Loafers now. I think it is similar to B Mix 5. If my results are half as good as yours I will be ecstatic. I am new to pottery, but I love it.
Do you follow Pottery Heads on Facebook? I’ve learned so much there.
Does anyone know what causes glazes to "skip" or "slide". I sometimes get bare spots where the glaze seems to slide down the wall during firing.
Do you wipe or rinse your bisque before glazing? I think it’s called crawling.
Is this brand of glaze going to work for concrete planters?
100% no. Concrete does not get fired in a kiln. This is cone 6 stoneware glaze.
Cookie=Kiln Coaster
Ok so what exactly did you use to do the galaxy glaze?
Galaxy? Do you mean the Northern Lights? I’m not familiar with galaxy. Northern lights is Smokey Merlot, black and seaweed by Amaco.
Thanks
I am new to learn, really wants to learn, can you teach me how to
Keep watching!
My little girl wants to learn, I am feeling awful not knowing about this art. I am willing to learn to let her know every thing necessary in glaze
Is this high fire or low fire?
Cone 6 - I call that Mid-fire
You are not just a pretty face, hahaha.❤️
Have you used duncan envision glaze?
No, should I?
@@TinyChickPottery I wanted to get your feedback in case you have used one.
Are you a member of Clay buddies or Potteryheads on Facebook? You could ask there.
Thanks Ryan!
