I have been to Malaysia twice in the past two years!! I've always gone in December when its cold in the US and then I fly all the way to Malaysia and I love it there from the food to the people to the culture and to my love there too. Always so welcoming I want to live there one day. I want to go back real soon and its only been like 6 months since i was last there.

Oh my God this amazing place has changed so much over the years...I met my Chinese wife who had been working in the casino for 12 years from the day Genting opened & then took her back to my country...I loved the place then but now what I see in this video is mind blowing...she told me at the time that the city people loved to come up here for a break from the hot weather & they loved those cool temperatures & mists, & so did I...loved the city of KL also but of course it too has been transformed in an amazing way.
The outdoor theme park once completed in 3Q 2020 will be a massive Fox inspired theme park. Genting Highlands ( Resorts World Genting) is a flagship hotel and casino on a hill owned by the Malaysian family who built Genting Group - one of the largest hotel and casino franchises in the world, with more than 50 casinos in England, US, Australia, Singapore (Resorts World Sentosa), Manila (Resorts World Manila) and the very famous Star Cruises Ships from their Hong Kong subsidiary. They are one of the biggest hotel groups from South East Asia along with the ShangriLa Hotel Group, which was also founded by a Malaysian entrepreneur. Besides the theme park, outside the hotel there is also the Genting Premium Outlet - one of the biggest branded goods shopping area (sold much cheaper than at the normal outlets), with all the branded good items imaginable. There is also a massive strawberry farm, fruit farms and lots of mediterranean inspired stuff because of the cooler weather (averaging 12 to 14 C).

Many of the main elements of Fox Studios have been retained as Genting won the lawsuit against Disney as it had signed the agreement with 20th Century Fox before it was taken over by Disney. I just got back from a 12 day trip to Bangkok, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. I'm afraid KL didn't blow me away as much as I hoped it would, but now I've seen this I could be tempted to return to Malaysia.
I'm afraid KL, as the centre of our country, doesn't look that much different from city centres around the world. Go for things unique to Malaysia, hawker food in Penang, UNESCO Heritage Cities, nature in Sabah/Sarawak, water sports and snorkeling in one of the many islands
Ladies, if time permits the next time..... Try the dinner buffet in the hotel..... I haven't been there for quite a while but if memory serve me right...... If you sit near the glass windows at night , you are able to see Petronas Twin Towers at night...... Awesome view....Food is quite good actually... International Buffet plus local Malaysian food too but I personally think this is something that you can splurge a little for the experience...

You might or might not be interested to know in the UK alone Genting has 43 casinos. I used to work for the Genting Group in 1990s. Founder Lim Goh Tong - a most humble down to earth man - migrated to Malaysia from China in 1937 at age 19 penniless - used cut out of discarded car tyres as footwear. A true rag to riches story.

Since you asked, the First World Hotel always has cheap room packages because it usually noisy and not as luxurious as the other hotels in Genting. Another way to get to Genting is to take the bus from the KLIA airport to 1 Utama shopping mall (you can stay at the One World Hotel here) and then another bus from there direct to Genting.

I went there to play at Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park....It was so FUN! 🤩 I want to go there again.....but too bad there's the Covid-19 pandemic 😭 I recomended everyone to come visit Genting Highlands 😀
I stayed in first world hotel last year for my sister's birthday (we went for mainly the team park😂) and the team park you saw in the cable car is apparently abandoned if my friend's mom was correct and some of the rides you guys got to ride I didn't get to go bc it was under construction

It's a shame it was cloudy during your visit to the the temple,i was there a couple of years ago with my husband and mother-in-law,it was a bright sunny day,the views were fantastic,we took a lot of pictures there and it was really cold
I'm malaysian and I already went to Genting Highland and it was so fun and terrifying cuz the roller coaster that I ride was sooo scary, the ride was spinning around and it went upside down, I can't even open my eyes cuz I was terrified 😂 (haha sorry that my English is bad, I'm not used to talking english)

The one you went in LV was probably owned by the same malaysian company that owns Genting. You can google Resorts World Las Vegas and more about the Resorts World company and it will leads to the Genting Group which owns a lot of resorts worldwide.

You are so pretty sitting at the table, 4:27, anyway Genting Highlands is a great place to explore especially on the first visit, I personally enjoy the performance show. ( tickets at Sistic counter) , shopping at Premium outlets.There is more to see at Malaysia, ‘Cheers to Freedom’
After watching your video, I think Genting should consider giving both of you a free VIP room & tour when the new theme park opens for the public later. Oh ya, there is a non-smoking gambling section too & you are right - beer is super expensive in this country.
The normal price for a Genting Member is free😂 If you have a Gold Member Card, you occasionally can get free rooms in higher class hotels like Maxim and Genting Grand😊

It was initially planned to open a Fox Studios but this was delayed after Disney bought over Fox and there was a legal settlement. The park will still open later this year but will not be called Fox Studios. They can still use some FOX intellectual properties for the rides that was agreed in the contract such as Ice Age, Titanic, Aliens vs. Predators. Also, if you didn't notice there are actually old sections and new sections to Genting Highlands. This goes to the casinos as well. Older casinos are smoking casinos while newer ones are smoke-free. There's different themed casinos so I would have been good to hop in several different ones. And regarding the crowd on a Monday, these people are still on their Chinese New Year break of they're mostly tourist groups from China...

Luckily we are not gamblers so that kind of stuff does not interest us, we were there just to observe

@@nellieevans1540 On and off. Currently lawsuit is in force, but 20th century fox park is still happening. If I'm not mistaken, they're not going to name it 20tu century fox, and there'll still be some Fox's stuffs...just way lesser than org planned.
P.S waited for a few years for the park. I freakin hate these lawsuits

The one you went in LV was probably owned by the same malaysian company that owns Genting. You can google Resorts World Las Vegas and more about the Resorts World company and it will leads to the Genting Group which owns a lot of resorts worldwide.

I stayed in the Genting Highlands way back in 1982. Only 1 hotel, theme park, lake. I bet it's different now after 38 years.

You are so pretty sitting at the table, 4:27, anyway Genting Highlands is a great place to explore especially on the first visit, I personally enjoy the performance show. ( tickets at Sistic counter) , shopping at Premium outlets.There is more to see at Malaysia, ‘Cheers to Freedom’

Hi I am a citizen from Malaysia , Genting Highland used to be VERY VERY cold outdoors but now its hot.
Temperatures rise with the cutting of too many trees, coupled with insufficient replanting. Sad.

After watching your video, I think Genting should consider giving both of you a free VIP room & tour when the new theme park opens for the public later. Oh ya, there is a non-smoking gambling section too & you are right - beer is super expensive in this country.
The normal price for a Genting Member is free😂 If you have a Gold Member Card, you occasionally can get free rooms in higher class hotels like Maxim and Genting Grand😊

It was initially planned to open a Fox Studios but this was delayed after Disney bought over Fox and there was a legal settlement. The park will still open later this year but will not be called Fox Studios. They can still use some FOX intellectual properties for the rides that was agreed in the contract such as Ice Age, Titanic, Aliens vs. Predators. Also, if you didn't notice there are actually old sections and new sections to Genting Highlands. This goes to the casinos as well. Older casinos are smoking casinos while newer ones are smoke-free. There's different themed casinos so I would have been good to hop in several different ones. And regarding the crowd on a Monday, these people are still on their Chinese New Year break of they're mostly tourist groups from China...
