For the period you take a portion of the wave that is growing positive and move along it until it goes from negative to positive again. Try to find a point along the midline. In the video in the very first example, you could say start at (0,4), then go until (720,4). Divide 720 by 2pi.

the period is what you are counting. wherever it starts to repeat again is where you count until (line repeating)
