Thank you. I have a photo of a very similar sunset, so I was able to learn from you Maria, and it has turned out quite well. The most important part was the intensity of colours and wet-in- wet technique.
wonderful as always !!!! I love your style of painting and the music you have choice..thanks of sharing and i wait for other beautiful watercolours..by by !!!!
Beautiful! Great tutorial! It's been snowing here since last night with tons more expected this evening and overnight. You have given me something very worthwhile to do while I'm buried in snow like a groundhog! Thank you for a wonderful video tutorial!!
Hi Adlin, where do you live? wow? snow :) I don't think I will see any snow this year unless I go out of town for christmas but that's always fun to paint....
Maria Raczynska I live in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate NY, near Buffalo. And it usually starts snowing here in October, although this year it started a bit late. Thanks again for the great video tutorial!
Hi Hector 😊Thank you! I appreciate all your comments 👍I have few paintings coming up, one is a bit challenging, I got a request to paint rain.. let's see :)
FELICITACIONES
Maria, loved your painting. I’ve watched loads and loads of them. With this one in particular, I would love to know how you prevent the yellow and blue turning to green, when mixed together.
Hi Patricia :) thank you so much!! I never had this issue... but the most important thing when painting with watercolors is to use pure pigments, when painting with student grade paints, pigments are not pure, and when mixing colors become muddy or turn into weird shades.. when painting this scene (my older painting, I used here mostly Winsor and Newton) and perhaps I balance it enough so where the colors meet, they slightly mixed.. I don't force them to mix.. xx
Maria Raczynska I'm actually a fully qualified Painter decorator .. But took sick in 2014.. Not worked since then as I'm now disabled and I'm really interested in art- watercolour painting.. And this helps me escape .☀️☺️
Hi 💞Thank you thank you 😊 yes I'm addicted to painting, I had a hard time leaving for work this morning... it was like... one more stroke.. then back again at the table with a brush 😍I still made it on time 🙏🏼
Hi! I'm not kamal. Actually I'm his daughter,Arpi. I like your paintings very much. Recently I have tried this sunrise drawing. Thanks a lot. Keep uploading new videos.
Beautiful! I noticed you used Cadmium yellow for the sky as well as blue. How did you manage it to not blend and form a green? I always have trouble with this.
Hi Maria, is "cadmium yellow hue" similar to any of these yellows that I have: WN (Winsor & Newton) Cadmium Lemon, WN Cadmium Yellow, WN Aureolin, or Gamboge Nova (Holbein). Do u think any of these would be a good substitute? I'm new to your channel (& love so far😊) & noticing that you use the cad yellow Hue often. Thank you!😊
This is so beautiful and serene! I also really admire how often you paint. Btw, do you mind if I try following this tutorial and paint something similar?
Hi Maria, sorry but a silly question....when you were painting were you following a picture, standing live at the spot or it is just brilliant imagination and talent ??
........ My God, Your painting look just like a photography, it's so amazingly beautiful.Sadly, I am still a beginner in watercolors, but could You please give me some tips? I want to one day paint just like You, it's kinda my biggest dream to be honest...
Z tymi mozesz juz zaczac spokojnie malowac. Papier najlepszy Hot Press, 140lb, 100% cotton. Popatrz na zdjecie ktore chcesz namalowac, pomysl jakie kolory widzisz, te wlasnie wykladasz na palete :) Ogolnie to duzo cierpliwosci i praktyki i bedziesz malowala super!
Dziękuję bardzo! Postaram się zaopatrzyć w właśnie odrobinę lepsze pędzle No i oczywiście farby...
It's really a pity that the RUclips community is yet to recognize your talent in a big way. But surely this painting is very eye pleasing. And your choice of the background music is also commendable. Keep it up! 👌
Hi Jennifer, this is an older painting and I wasn't really using washi or any other tape to hold my paper down or to create a white frame. The watercolor paper is sitting freely on top of a thick paper with painters tape all over it. Not to hold it down or prevent it from buckling. Today I lay my watercolor paper on a glass and use washi to create a white frame. Thank you.
These paintings r really beautiful n more importantly is not take much time to make 😁😊 Plz share more such beautiful sceneries with more new themes Ty😊
Hi Sonam :) I don't really know what watercolors are available in India🧐 I paint with Holbein watercolors in tubes which I highly recommend for the quality and performance but they can be pricey..... do you have Winsor and Newton available? those were my first paints and much more affordable
Can you please make a vlog about ur colours that u alway use 🙏? All the paintings of urs are really beautiful. I really love ❤️ your paintings. Anyway i am ur new subscriber😁😜.
Hi Emma, I like Holbein Watercolors. They dry very smooth, they are very rich in colors and I really don't have to work that hard to get that nice even toned vibrant background. I haven't posted that many videos yet demonstrating paintings with Holbein watercolors but I have posted quite few pictures already on my Instagram @maria_morjane I recommend these paints and arches watercolor paper. If you would like you can go to my website www.mariamorjane.com/myartsupplies and scroll down to the bottom, there's a list of supplies I recommend for beginners. I recommend two sizes of paper, 9X12 Cold Pressed by Arches and 5X7 hot pressed pad by Fabriano Artistico. This way you get the traditional watercolor paper cold pressed, a very good quality paper and a smaller pad of hot pressed to see if you like hot pressed at all. I mostly paint on hot pressed.i will be listing where to buy on my website this weekend.
What colors did you use for this painting ? I love it is beautiful . I am 74 years old only started painting 3 months ago. After the death of my darling. I have always wanted to.paint.
Hi Marlene, I am so sorry to hear about your loss🌹🌹🌹.. I hope you are well and staying safe... also the colors and all art supplies are listed at the beginning of each video, the first 20 seconds🌹
Beautiful! I am a new subscriber having just found your channel, and love your style of painting. One question: are you using black straight from the tube or pan, or are you mixing your black from your other colours? You hear so much about it being a big "no-no" to use straight black and white in watercolour painting, so I was just curious as to what you choose to use. Thanks! 🎨
Hi Lori :) Thank you and Welcome :)!! I use my watercolor in liquid form and I always get all the paints ready on the palette before start painting but I don't think I follow any rules in traditional watercolor if you watch any other of my videos :) I think you do whatever you please in the world of art. I always use watercolor or white gouache (I use white gouache instead of chinese white watercolor) with WATER so I always want some water sitting on top of my paint, otherwise the paint is too thick and it doesn't come out smooth on the paper, so it's probably better not to do it straight out of the tube. A lot of times I mix black with indigo, it depends what shade of black I want. I wish my painting would come out better in photos, cause I can never show the true colors in final photos in the video (the starting and ending picture in my videos). Thanks Lori!
like the painting, the result, and that you mention the color and brush you chose. Some text could be shorter - difficult to watch and to read... neverless great work!
Hi Francoise, I list the brushes in a video... although this is one of my older videos so I didn't list them right up front, it's all spread thru the video, basically to paint this scene I most likely used Angular brushes 1/2 and 3/4 by Utrecht, Rigger 1 by Utrecht, Round 1 by Utrecht and Round 3 by Raphael :)
Very very beautiful. I love to see the sun rising. I agree with you about the quality of the paper. Its essencial for good results.
Hi Ana, thank you, I've tested quite a bit of watercolor papers and hot press 140lb is by far my favorite :)
Thank you. I have a photo of a very similar sunset, so I was able to learn from you Maria, and it has turned out quite well. The most important part was the intensity of colours and wet-in- wet technique.
Very nice

What kind of paper do u use? When I paint a background which needs a lot of water my paper gives off small balls and bulges a lot. Pls help.
Hi Prajakta, if you are using watercolors you need a watercolor paper. The one I am using is Arches Hot Pressed 140lb Watercolor paper.
Maria Raczynska thank you!
New fan of u from India😊💐
thank you so much for your support☺️🌸
