@AutumnElaine It's not a Q-10 serum, per sè, it's the Idebenone, which is a synthetic Q-10 that is supposedly a much stronger antioxidant! It was originally designed to be a treatment for Alzheimer's. I haven't used The Ordinary's Q10, but I love that it's a glycerin instead of HA base💗I truly hope this helps!
As someone with dry skin, Resveratrol + ferulic is one of the few ordinary products I go back to. Not many others out there like it at that price point, and I feel the propanediol base really packs a hydration punch!
Omg! I was SO looking for a well rounded antioxidant video! This cane up just in time! So far I'm using Survival 0 and Pycnogenol in my routine. I'm looking to add Resveratrol and see how it goes. Thank you so much, Kelly!
Love your content! I love what a deep dive you do into ingredients and products. I am nearly 50 but started late taking care of my skin so all knowledge is incredibly helpful in reaching my skin care goals. Thank you Kelly
I like it very much that you explain everything in such detail, will you please make a video on the best anti-aging moisturizer, please this is a request
Every video I just stare at your hair because it's just SO gorgeous. And your skin, too, of course 😊 I've been trying out niod survival 0 for a couple months now and loving it so far ❤
I use the Niod SMD mist , I love that stuff infact I need to buy another really soon . I have Niod survival 0 and the TO Phynogenal but I haven't used them in awhile I probably need to replace the TO one and I have a full unopened bottle of the survival. I also use the Hygee Natural repair it has a lot of antioxidants and I really want to try the Theraderm opc reparative serum but it's pricey for an antioxidant serum and the ingredients list is kinda short but good but idk for 110$ for an oz 145$ for 1.7 oz seems like a lot for an antioxidant serum. If anyone reads this that has tried it let me know how you feel about it .
Totally agree with you on TO- Pycnogenol..been using it for the last year or so. Def a fav! ...I did just order the Timeless Q10 a few days ago...can't wait to try it! Thanks for all the info and suggestions..wonderful as always!❤️
Great video again. Are you planning to try and review (the mini version) of the Sulwhasoo ginseng renewing line? Those dont have alcohol and essentiol oils and staff which I know your skin does mot tolerate.😊
Oh interesting, the last time I looked at that line it did contain fragrant compounds linalool and limonene which are irritating, but I'll take another look!
Ohh noo I just looked at it you are right it doesnt have fragrance and alcohol like the first essence that is why I tought I might ask you to review because I highly value your toughts you share with us here. Sorry my bad, it does contain that two compaound😓
Thank you so much ☺️ I really love all your videos ( I am however absolutely in love with your Korean reviews- you are a dictionary and wonderful personality!). Another antioxidant serum you may like is the Regimen Lab “level “ serum, and perhaps vitamin x. I have the level serum and do find it helpful for mild pigmentation ( and can be sensitive, dehydrated and dry ) ☺️I haven’t and won’t be using the vitamin X though ☺️. But they are more expensive , which can be a bit of a push sometimes. I love hearing your thoughts and experiences with all these so much! Thank you so much!!!
4 of 5 on my list! I would swap the “not oil” Timeless for NIOD SDSMist. I could be mistaken but I didn’t hear it mentioned that Survival 0 is for evenings per the bottle.
Survival 0 can be used AM and PM! NIOD makes the distinction due to their Survival 30 product which contains SPF 30 and they suggest using it in the AM and survival 0 in the PM (0 referring to 0% SPF). Unfortunately, they do not sell Survival 30 in the US (where I'm located) due to the SPF filters they use.
I enjoyed listening to this video. Thank you. The ordinary site mentions that Resveratol should not be used with argereline, too. How many times a week do you use pyconogel and resveratol. I find both a bit greasy to use in the morning along with moisturizer and sunscreen. They dont layer well either with other products and makeup. My night routine is getting a bit crowded😅
I'm a new subscriber and really liked this video, glad to see some products that I've used for a while! I'm just wondering ~ is she a dermatologist? Esthetician or skin care enthusiast?? It's not critical - I just enjoyed the more detailed explanation of each product! Now I know what new product to try when the time comes! 👍 🤩
Hey Kelly, can you help me with some advice? 🥺 I've been putting together a basic skincare routine for my combo skin (extremely oily on my nose and forehead). My main concerns are blackheads/sebaceous filaments, clogged pores, and skin texture. I do get acne during my periods, but it usually clears up pretty quickly on its own. I think my skin is also dehydrated cause of the crazy amount of oil on my nose and forehead throughout the day. Plus, when I do my makeup, the foundation tends to settle into the skin around my eyebrows and the corners of my nose. So, I bought the Missha Blackhead Off Cleasing Oil; a brazilian brand cleasing with 13% surfactants, 2% salicylic acid and 5% glycerin; the Isntree Green Tea Fresh Toner (I wanted a hydrating toner, but since my main concern is oil control I thought that it would be a good choice); a brazilian brand exfoliating serum with 5% niacinamide, 4% glycolic acid, 3% tranexamic acid and 2% salicylic acid (I wanna use it twice a week, maybe everyday for my congested areas, do you think that's too much?); and lastly, the Skin1004 Centella Soothing Cream as a moisturizer, cause its ingredients are amazing for skin barrier care (Centella, Ceramide, Fatty Acid and Cholesterol ❤). But I bought the Skin1004 Hyalu-Cica moisturizer by mistake 😭 and the shop I bought the toner send me the Isntree Ultra-Low Molecular Hyaluronic Acid Toner. Do you think that's too much Hyaluronic Acid for my combo/oily skin? I've read that this toner is good for oily/combo skin, but it might not help with sebum control, right? I didn't wanna send it back and wait another 15 days, at least, for the right one to arrive 😭😭 Also, do you think this hyalu-cica will be enough to protect my skin barrier from the acids?
kelly can you do an updated video on eyecreams and can you compare benton eyecream newer and older formula did they reformulate the older ferment eyecream or the snail bee one is new one in total?
That's hard to say since they aren't really similar products. The numbuzin focuses more on brightening the skin, these are more concentrated on antioxidants protecting the skin. So if you have serious brightening concerns the antioxidant only serums in this video will not address your concerns.
Great video! Your videos are always so informative, i love it! I've been wanting to incorporate the mary and may blackberry serum and the cocokind chlorophyll serum into my routine. Would using those 2bproducts in the same routine be okay?
Would love it if you could review Dr Different 0.1 retinal. Pretty rare to see in k beauty and was wondering if it’s worth trying. Love your content! 🤍
In your opinion Kelly, is retinol better for well aging skin or copper peptides. I'm using niod copper peptides or do I need to pair retinol and copper peptides together?
Do not pair copper peptides and retinoids at the same time. In terms of efficacy, the jury is still out on peptides. Retinoids are well studied and have proved to be effective
I personally think retinoids are the best and are the industry standard, as Barbara mentioned they are very well-studied for their anti-aging benefits. I think peptides compliment retinol so you can use both but not in the same routine. So perhaps peptides every AM and retinol every night or every other night.
The k beauty % of ingredients is so elevated its sad. My son in law is a chemist and warns me all the time. I still use a few and now that the laws are changing I suspect we'll see reformulations or very different % of actives. Love the sunscreens.
Thanks for these reviews, I am tempted by The Ordinary ones! I am confused though: since they have an oil base, when do you recommend using them? no other water-based products or maybe just on different layers?
So there is a serum I use here in Germany. Its called „Antiox Serum“ and is by a brand called „No Cosmetics“. It has EUK and Reseveratrol, as well as Ferulic Acid in it. So now I’m confused 🤔
It's important to understand The Ordinary is usually speaking about conflicts between THEIR products not always in reference to pure ingredients or other brands products. If a product is formulated with all those ingredients in one bottle it's been formulated to ensure everything is stable and works well together.
Dear Kelly, love your content. I do love the survival 0 but it makes me confused, NIOD says to use in the evening but I would think it works best under sunscreen to boost protection
I do have a few videos on oils already. Rosehip and Seabuckthorn are covered here: ruclips.net/video/t9-ANEpeIGc/видео.html Blue tansy is really nice but it's an essential oil and due to skin sensitivity I stopped used those about 4 years ago.
Amazing video! I have a doubt, can I use my vit c serum (rovectin vita dark spot serum) in the morning and then layer a moisturizer that has copper peptides in it (jin jung sung hybrid face & eye cream)
So, if I want to try one of these, should I replace my vitamin C serum with one of them? (Interested in the Pycnogenol 5%. I currently use Bliss vitamin C+tri-peptides and I love it!). Thank you! 😊
You don't have to replace your vitamin C with these products, some can be used alongside it like ferulic acid and pycnogenol. I believe the only one I mentioned to not use with ascorbic acid was EUK.
I really still don't understand why you can't use copper peptides and antioxidants🤷♀️What is the reasoning? I'm serious. I'm not attempting to be contrary at all. I just don't understand. Please help me💗🙏
It irritates the skin! There is some thought they destabilize each other, it's not really proven though. As I mentioned I directly experienced irritation when combining copper peptides and some of these high % antioxidant serums.
@@KellyDriscoll That is so odd. I don't think I've ever experienced that. And I did hear that part in the video, but I wanted to ascertain that that was the reason. I've heard the destabilizing thing as well, but only under extreme acidic and pressure conditions. I guess because I'm super fair that my skin is like iron...exception essential oils, fragrance, and many newer preservatives 🤷♀️ But, I can usually throw acids, exfoliants, just about anything at it😆😂🤣
