Tony Allen on drums.....the genius is left us...RIP
This is an absolute masterpiece of the 20th century
You speak the truth.
Shalom Greetings! It echoes in all directions of my hotel room! Thank you Fela Ransome Kuti!
Fela, the father of Afrobeat!!! I was privileged to assist to a concert of his son in Accra, 2008. Rest in peace master.
Whenever I listen to Fela, I always discover an instrument I didn't hear and I follow it to the end. This guy was SENT here to lay the foundation of what we call Afrobeats today. God bless him
Lucky enough to have gone to ''The Republic'' on the Ikorodu Road, met Fela several times and his open air performance were beyond memorable.
This tune is the absolute height of Afro Futurism without including a single synth
Drum in paradise, Tony Allen.
This was my first Fela album and it changed my life. Yeah yeah!
Ditto! Packaged with "Gentleman."
The instrumentation at the beginning and keyboard especially are reminiscent of a child playing around so freely, teasing and almost flying. I don't understand how he makes the instruments come alive in such a way that comprises, dignity, freedom, spontaneity, authenticity and happiness etc, just pure bliss 💝
Pulsating rhythm + Effusively thick percussion = great beat!
Ciao Tony! That beat switch at 6:33 is one of the seven wonders of the world. Grazie
This is not only fela's best song but the best song every recorded the intro is a masterpiece and how the song hits its climax to the chorus...... And the drums 💯.... The horns I mean the whole thing... How did he even come up with this....?? It's crazy this is mid 70s ❤️❤️❤️🇿🇲🇿🇲
Music from the ancestors of the future. Fela lives!
This is the best song of all time!!!
Confusion no doubt remains one fine
musical illustration of what it takes to loose grip.Fela with this here proves to be a master in musical display of ill- norms & societal ills.Bless him!!!
He draws the music from outer space, brings it down to earth, and infuses it with a groove! Peace.
en 1974 je vivais dans le nord-Cameroun cette musique me rappelle des souvenirs
Timeless masterpiece from the master of Afro beats music, Fela Ransom Kuti.
THERE'S nothing More I can say that hasn't already been said in this comment section..love all y'all!!!
There's this feeling this song gives me, makes me remember those days as a kid damnn. Good ol days
The first part of the album makes me think of real confusion! Stunning.
First time hearing this song and the sound is legendary
This is where it all crystalizes for everyone involved, the true paramount sonic jewel of an already diamond shining dazzling discography that if anything is more urgent than ever in the 21st Century.
Fela Kuti the maestro. This is so marvelous.
Femi and son carrying in the tradition. 1 love.
An absolute musical genius!
Tony Allen, rest in peace o.
God bless you guys for bringing memories to me expecially. it reminds me of my youth when we use to go to Fela in Rabiatu Thompson in Surulere for sunday jump. Fela use to come late to shrine as a result of traffic at Ojuelegba. Fela wrote this music to justify the traffic condition in the area and in Lagos in general.
Hiya Tajudeen, thank you for your story with you and seeing Fela. I'm glad you got to see and hear Fela in person.
We would love you to continue the Fela Express on this channel by subscribing here ► bit.ly/1XsVy99 Take care and everybody say "Yeah Yeah" (y)
Goddamn funky, thick, percussive african soul composition by the master exponent of afrobeat. The extraordinary rhythm section effusively anchored by the bass player, drummer the deceased great Tony Allen, and of course the exceptionally talented guitarist, controls your restless feet. Fela himself rounds this up on Alto Sax 🎷 and electric piano. All you need do is shake. That's all👍👏
That introduction though
The 13 people who disliked this song are probably confused
Lol 🤣😆🤣
No, they're dyslexic
Na APC, LP and PDP members
Which 13 pple disliked the song ? You're the one confused mennn.😂
@@paulmatemb4628 come on, the comment was made 2 years ago smh 🤦🏽♂️
I know some people might find this weird to say but I think this song could legitimately cure some people’s racism
I feel racially liberated listening to Fela Kuti and Bob Marley as a white man, not that I was racist to beginning, but I now have a deep love for black people.
Racism needs strong strong medicine.
Amazing !!!
I had never heard this one. Thanks !
To me Tony Allen’s greatest work.
RIP Tony Allen
Masterpiece it's a duty to know this artist fela and tony
