Listen, I'd rather watch porcupines munching peanuts for 10 minutes instead of watching humans slob around at a buffet. At least these guys are adorable.
Spike's eating appreciation is so loud and clear I kept expecting her to actually sing "My favourite PEANUTS!" The others mumble happily over their food, even Squeak, but Spike is deafening - just in case the supply ever dried up, perhaps. Chestnut is a food thief (always one) and Prickly is sweet, but the happy munching by them all is incredibly sweet. Thank you so much.
They’re just so adorable when they’re tripodding! 8:18 . When hunched over a peanut pile, it’s hard to see much, but up on hind legs, holding their treasures (yay, sweet potatoes!) it’s so nice to be able to see those precious wee sweet little faces! And those vocalizations……the chomping and ummmming and munching and huuuummmming….cuteness overload! Must stop watching!
She was by last night and while she's still limping a bit, it's definitely improving. I don't think we'll need to take her to a vet for this one, she seems to be recovering fine on her own.
Fantastic to know. Hope Chonkers is recovering well and feeling a lot better. I assume it will take a long time for full recovery. BTW, the noises these cutoes make while eating is too adorable. Thank you for helping animals 🙏🐾💖

It is amazing at how different each one is. So cool that you can recognize them so fast! It takes me longer to see the differences. Their eyes are so soulful and sweet. I love to hear them munch away.
So adorable. Love that little noise they make, not sure why they do it, is it because they're enjoying their food, or is it a warning to you whilst they are eating?
Well, I think I watched all the videos but I can't be sure. I could easily have missed one here and there or forgot to like. I know a lot more about everyone's history: bunnies, beavers, bears, birds, and porcupines. And wonderful, dear humans that love porcupines like their own fuzzy, spiky family. There are so very lucky to have the two of you. And so are we. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥💐
@@joels7605 He really was a great groundhog. There were many, many groundhogs on my grandparents' Midwest farm and they raised me my first 9 years--my grandparents, not the groundhogs--but there were huge. I was shocked when I saw your slim, charming groundhogs. Harley was a real sweetheart. ♥✨
Disney is shaking in their boots. Just look at all that cuteness!!! ❤ When Chestnut sits up like that 💀 ⚰️ I would absolutely have to pet the tummy. HAVE. TO. I would pull back nub, not a hand, if I did, but I’d have to do it. I can’t believe she has a quill stuck in her belly 😢Poor lil lady. I love Spike’s happy eating noises so much ❤ She’s just the happiest girl period. Well, except for when the tiny terror is after her. Speaking of terrors, have you seen Miss Quilbert lately? I miss that lil sass monster. She’s a riot.
It's been a while since we've seen Quilbert, but last year she took a 3 month winter vacation. Quilbert seems to like to remind us that she doesn't need the treats, even though she does enjoy them. She visited a ton just before and after having her baby (with a two week gap in between), so I'm hopeful we'll still see her plenty every summer. She might have chosen a home farther away than most of the others and doesn't find the walk worthwhile enough when it's cold and through the snow, especially since she's small for an adult porcupine.
@ It wouldn’t surprise me AT ALL to find out that Quilbert lives far, far away, because she’s never been a fan of being around other porcupines (the video of her chewing poor little Sticker/Prickly up one side and down the other will never fail to crack me up, no matter how many times I watch it). The clan has gotten so much bigger since Quilbert first started coming around! She will always be the OG, but yeah……Ms. Q has grumpy little hermit written all over her 😂. I swear she and Squeak are related somehow. The attitude, the swagger, the tiny little bodies with huge personalities, the ferocity…Squeak does not get that from her mama. Spike is a doll. She’s more golden retriever puppy than porcupine.
I am living in condo! i am cooking rice and corns bring to the park feeding all kind of birds make me so happy i donot want them hungry before go to bed
Regarding Squeak, I have to admit that the first idea that came to my mind concerning the reason behind the conditions of her foot was a possible fall from a tree or something like that, as we all know she's a cute sassy baby girl totally uncapable to stay still (hence her risk to fall any time) 🤣🤣🤣
Did Spike just claim Hazel[Nut] as her offspring because she is so well behaved?! 😅 I love those noises from Spike, I could listen to that all day! (Along with cute Beaver noises!) Great way to chill after the shenanigans of 🏈 today 🤬 How’s our precious Squeak doing?! Honestly, I didn’t think Prickly’s quill-do was that wild…then the camera panned over to Chestnut, looking all prim & proper 😅 Listen, it could just be _her_ style, ya know, that “just rolled outta bed” look!?! Minimal upkeep 💁🏻♀️ 10:03- Chestnut is a bell-shaped 🔔 gremlin 🤭 _Edit: spelling_
100% Spike is out there telling anyone who’ll listen that well behaved little Hazel is hers, not that fuzzy little demon that follows her around all the time. Poor Spike. She such a doll baby, and then there’s Squeak…the world’s tiniest super villain.

@joels7605 do you think Harley is still alive? She is very cute. I watched her once but not all of her videos yet. For now i am busy enjoying Jerkface videos, especially that one where he was chewing maple stick, his cuteness just beyond words❤️
@@kekatmykat3311 We haven't seen Harley since the Spring of 2023. He had a great life and we think he was about 11 (and a groundhog's average lifespan is something like 3 years). Clover the groundhog moved in later that summer, and has very similar markings, so I expect she was closely related to him. This spring, Bramble the groundhog moved in too, and while Clover and Bramble did squabble a bit, they seemed to be getting along ok when hibernation time got close, so we're hoping to see both come back in the spring.
You guys need to watch a feature length called ‘The adventures of white tuft’ (2008) following a pair of beavers, the noises they make sound like these guys! it’s just adorable! 🥰 💜🦔🦔🦔🦔💜💜💜🤗
Have you tried feeding them avocado, corn, or pumpkin? Theres a couple videos on youtube of porcupines that go crazy over those. Might be fun to try it once.
We tried all of those. The porcupines that tried we didn't wouldn't take them. We didn't show all of the porcupines, but a bunch of them did see those foods.
I wonder if there are some long-handled tongs that could work for slightly distanced quill retrieval. If they don't want hands that close, maybe they'd be less reactive to some kind of tool.
Since I don’t speak porcupine, is the noise Spike is making an “I’m happy/content” noise or an “I’m fussy/go away” noise? In any case I’ve had a long day of driving and unwinding with 10 minutes of porcupines eating is exactly what I needed-thank you!
@@joels7605 super, thank you. I asked because I’d normally think “that’s an agitated noise” but she looked perfectly happy. They’re very different from anything I have personal experience with!
@@joshcarter-com They're all so different. Some are completely silent. Some will only make noise when they're begging for food. Then we have Spike. Spike is always happy. She's just the happiest animal.
To add on to the noises, Chestnut does a pretty good impression of an old timey mob boss "Myeh!" when Chonkers isn't taking a hint that his advances aren't wanted. Spike and Squeak call out to each other when they're looking for each other, sort of a "Moop moop!" And if Squeak is angered, she can do a very loud "MEEP!" When two of them are bickering over peanuts, they sound almost exactly like Minecraft villagers.
For some of them we're just guessing, but Chestnut was pregnant earlier this year. We don't know for sure if Hazel or Wally is her baby, but we're guessing Hazel.
Chestnut: Am I annoying you?
Prickly: YES
Chestnut: Good.
