Really a awesome machine! Makes splitting firewood a little more enjoyable 😉 I'm still using my homemade splitter that's now 28 years old. It's slow and invincible just like me at 71. This machine is definitely one of the best on the market for the price. Firewood is at a premium price and is in high demand due to the energy crunch. Happy splitting!

@@AroundTheYard-MN Yes, splitting twisted sweet gum wood with large crotches is a significant challenge. Much of the wood I work with is the larger tree service wood. 30” diameter and up. The log lift is 100% successful at lifting all rounds. The largest negative is the sorting table is way to small for holding onto resplits. I have the four way wedge which is awesome. I tried out the six way wedge ($500 option) but found that it was not well suited for the large tree service rounds. For my next wolf ridge Logsplitter, I plan to order the 30 or 36” stroke splitter option with the magnum package along with a custom extended sorting table. Customer service is the very best. Perhaps a pallet with a plywood box, then you can grab the box with your fork attachment. You will soon want the conveyor belt. Been there

nobody that's intelligent is out cutting firewood in 100 degree 95% humidity days in NC my friend. Firewood cut this winter is for next season in most cases. So...we could say....ANYONE WITH COMMON SENSE is cutting and splitting firewood during the cool seasons here in NC my friend
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer weren't you making lumber this summer on "Sawmill Sunday's" ? Those raw edges you trimmed off to make the cants were potential firewood that could have been saved & seasoned for firewood. They wouldn't need to be cut to length & stacked until cooler weather if they were ready to process. The best way I've seen to stack logs to season evenly was when I worked in a log yard in Northern California processing logs for power poles. We would lay out 4 sacrificial logs as a bed on the ground, then a layer across those. The next layer would be at a right angle to the previous one & so forth & so on until the stack was 10-12' tall. After a season they would be debarked then 8-10 logs would be placed in a concrete vat of heated creosote & diesel fuel as a preservative. I even thinned trees in the Plumas National Forest in California for a while until some idiots in Sacramento decided that was an unnecessary expense & that turning the forests into "tinder boxes" would be a better idea. Oh 💩, here I go getting long winded again. I'm outta here. Till next time 😊.
not sure what any of this has to do with cutting firewood in winter...but that's what we do here. We cut firewood this winter for next winter's stockpile. Can get similar machines for far less, though likely without the log lift feature. HomeDepot has a brand they sell that's well rated, though I forget the brand name, that's 25 ton and up depending on model for a lot less than these. But hey, you're happy and that thing is beastly!
problem with the big box store CHINA SPLITTERS is that they aren't designed to last for years and years...look at the hydraulic hoses and tank and ram...this is a tool that's a lifetime purchase v/s an every 5 year box store purchase. Time will tell and we'll do some comparison vids to other splitters in the future. Making an investment in a lifetime purchase like this is a good idea in my mind
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer Check the cycle time on a box store unit, generally a lot slower. There is a reason they cost less. You get what you pay for.
When you start splitting place the bucket of the tractor in front and beneath of the end of the machine. It will save you some work!
probably will use a firewood trailer so it simply pushes itself back on to the truck or trialer
If anyone relies on firewood for heat, all year should be firewood season. Have a great day 😊.
nobody that's intelligent is out cutting firewood in 100 degree 95% humidity days in NC my friend.
Just that simple my brotha....we're not logging...just busting up some firewood in the cool winter months when we're not planting, digging and or building. More fun to come
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer anytime you're using your mill you're making potential firewood out of the waste.
@@larryparish5984 I heat with wood & I fork large piles of slab wood from my mill to my brush pile for my once of year middle of winter burn. Can't even give it away...
As fast as that splitter runs, you'll need an elevator to get the wood away from the work area
Super great video Josh Woooooo!
I don't know if it is the same model but the one outdoors we ith the Morgans use requires you to pull both levers to enable auto cycle
OWTM has the 22C - (edited) or at least that’s what their description lists under equipment, but I thought they upgraded to the 28C a year or so ago.
Great video Josh keep them coming please
Man that’s a nice splitter!
push both spools at once
@Stoney Ridge Farmer - Josh, what was the biggest deciding factor for you, for going with the 35 over the 28? Been shopping WR MFG for a while and trying to figure out what will be best for my setup. As you know quality USA products need not to be purchased more than once, so I want to make sure I make my first choice the right choice. Thanks for the great content, been a long time subscriber and just started my own channel, you won’t believe how welcoming the wood hound community is. Good luck with the Wolfe Ridge! Enjoy your day Around the Yard & the Farm!!! - Brent
I went off Chris Wolfe's recommendations for this potential lifetime purchase
Your using a six way wedge, nice log splitter,
great vid love the SRF
pull both of them handles down at the same time and it will retract automatically.
That thing doesn’t care what you throw at it

@@StoneyRidgeFarmer oh ok then if your in ga and close to warner robins i may be able to help you out with fire wood
You can make a killing selling firewood!
