To those who are wondering how he's able to run a 3200mhz ram even though the AMD's website shows it only supports upto 2933mhz, he's using XMP profile to overclock his RAM and it's super easy all you need is a b450 or better Mobo and you're good to go. Also the best RAM for this processor would be 3200mhx cuz it can be easily overclocked upto 3600mhz which is well and safe.
El overclock para la ram también se puede hacer en una A320. Comprar una b450 para un 3400g es tirar dinero a la basura, salvo pienses comprarte una gpu dedicada en el futuro.
@alvente I think you should get the 3200mhz...Because the zen 3 Ryzen processors support upto 3200mhz....So if you ever upgrade, you can use the same ram..
It will actually slow down. The 3400g and all zen plus typically max out the infinity fabric at 3466Mhz for a 1:1 ratio. If you win the silicon lottery, you can go as high as 3600, but that is about 1% of chips. Going higher makes it run at 1:2 or crashes. Zen 2 (3000 series) don’t crash, they just run slower. 3400 MHz is optimal with no tweaks, just Xmp enabled. Zen 1 is 3200, zen 1+(zen plus) 3400, zen 2 3600 and zen 3 is 4000. The sweet spot for my ryzen 3700x is 3600 stock, xmp and pbo enabled. I’m too lazy to try to get more performance out of the processor and it’s a work machine and my boss and IT won’t thank me if I mess it up. They bought it with 64 gigs of ram at 3600 MHz so replacing it with something faster would be expensive. Our IT guy has benchmarks that show 4 gigs of ram per thread is optimal for throughput and everything I’ve seen agrees with him. We edit, not game. The 5700 video card would be lame for gaming but works fine for editing. IT really gets the bang for the buck in our company. Management constantly criticizes them but they deliver every time. They bought a bunch of 1600af processors at $85 from @m@z0n and management screamed. They gutted a bunch of old machines and gave every editor a secondary machine to run secondary workloads on. Upped throughput by nearly 100%. Management are idiots.
Ryzen 5 3400G support max 3333/3400 MHz if you are lucky. 2933MHz is considered for default profile. Depend from the “silicon lottery”. For example, my 3400G run the RAM at 3333 MHz stable and the 3400G of a my friend run the same RAM at 3200MHz. For the APU Ryzen 5 3400G the best speed is 3200 MHz with the lowest latency possible.
The highest officially supported memory speed is 2933 MHz, but with overclocking you can run it even higher than in this video. Max I have tried is 3466Mhz but started to get blue screens and crashes with it. 3200 Mhz is very stable.
When you ran the memory at 2400 Mhz speed did you lower the CAS Latency timing, or did you leave it at CL16?
