    Dear Kyle, This is Jody and I wanted to thank you for the review. I don't know if you know this but I'm from Tampa also. And seeing you play the subtone made me think of my first private teacher from Tampa, Junie Ferrell. He was such a great player and a kind and generous teacher. I was so lucky to have him and hearing you... I wish he could have heard you. He has been gone for so many years now. If you get a chance, go to Paragon Music store and ask the owner Dick Rumore about Junie. I'm so glad you like the mouthpiece, you sound great, and stay in touch. Jody Espina

    I live in port St Lucie Fl. and I play tenor, alto and soprano sax. I just purchased two of these mouthpeices. One tenor and one alto. They are everything you say they are. I totally agree. I did switch to a rovner ligature because the stock ligature allowed the reed to slide a bit whenever I tried to reposition my mouthpiece.

    What's up fellow musician. I'm currently playing with the Jet tenor. Thinking about purchasing either the super jet or the DV metal.

    It seems like this piece is not all in your face! It might be hard for me to control at first if I buy it! I would buy the tip opening 6. For Alto if I get it

    Hi! Im thinking about buying this mouthpiece just wanted to ask if you use a special neck for the mouthpiece, i tried a 7* one in a shop and the tone was very high. It was maybe 20% higher then my old otto link on the same place. Or what have you experienced in this topic?

      The short shank caused it to be very sharpe on my tenor.

    Hi Kyle,
    I’m still searching for a Mouthpiece like this with good bright projection but also warm bottom.
    It feels like the Jody Jazz Super Jet Tenor has it. My question for you. Is that a result of the Tip opening 8* and
    did you ever tried the 7*? I tried it a year ago and I remind that the 7* had been more aggressive then that what I hear from you. By the way great sound 👍

  • @abhimalavalli

    Hey you sound great, a noob question here. I'm comfortable with ottolink 7* opening. With high baffle MPC this super jet, is the effort of blowing same as low baffled ones? Or you think I might be able to go up to 8* and be OK?

    Sounds great but puffing your cheeks like that has to HURT. Don't keep doing that to yourself bro

    • @seanwintersax
      @seanwintersax 6 лет назад

      Puffing your cheeks has nothing to do with biting. In fact it takes pressure off of the the lips. Try playing a Double G without puffing your cheeks.

    • @nathanhoover3636
      @nathanhoover3636 6 лет назад

      @@seanwintersax well one, puffing your cheeks is painful after an extended period of time. And two when you puff your cheeks yes it relieves pressure on your lip, but that also means you lose embouchure control, which messes up tuning and tone control. And what do you mean by double G?

    • @seanwintersax
      @seanwintersax 6 лет назад

      @@nathanhoover3636 Altissimo G an octave above the first altissimo G. Maybe gets some years playing under your belt before trashing this guy for puffing his cheeks. He plays really well and clearly knows what he's doing.

    • @nathanhoover3636
      @nathanhoover3636 6 лет назад

      @@seanwintersax I can play that just fine without puffing my cheeks. And I'm in high school. On tenor sax

    • @seanwintersax
      @seanwintersax 6 лет назад +1

      @@nathanhoover3636 I can tell you are in high school.
      Look at some videos of the great tenor players. Michael Brecker, Bob Berg, Sonny Rollins, Joe Lovano, Chris Potter. They all puff their cheeks at certain spots. It does not hurt. It's for an effect and helps you facilitate the upper register of your horn.
      Also in order to subtone you HAVE to puff your cheeks out. It is a requirement for that technique!
      Your high school concert band teacher isn't doing you any favors.
