I just love how you walk around talking to us like we were right there next to you. It's such a natural and have such a normal Cadence to it. It's very calming and easy to listen to. I also would love to hear you sing Pinky's song again. That was cute. Kenan and his AMAZING 🕊FLYING WATER MONITORS!!🐲🐲🐊🦅
every single time you post your story its an inspiration to so many people out here and I can't thank you enough for allowing us to be part of your journey through this life
Another advantage of having thermostats is that most of them you can program to send out an alarm if the temperature gets below/above a pre-set temperature range. This makes it easy and quick for you to spot if a heat mat/lamp is malfunction so you can act quickly if it would put the animals in danger.
Yes, this reminds me why I moved to Southern Mexico. Never ever do I have to do this. All my guys are out 24/7/365 and the only one with extra heat is the juvenile Sulcata. Awesome for me! Thanks for the tour Kenan.
The smaller shelters are also easier to heat due to there being a smaller volume of air. I think the tortoise with the damaged shell enjoyed you touching her.
I I’ve in Tennessee and there are rarely and fires earthquakes tornadoes and def not hurricanes it’s the perfect place to live and we still get all 4 seasons!!
Hello from Cape Coral and now we getting ready for tomorrow’s temperature, the turtles pond is already with heater and the baby tortoise is staying indoor for the next couple days
I love your channel cause it’s different. Most channels have just venomous snakes and that’s about it, some have a little more, but you have all these turtles and I truly enjoy the change.
My family used to have a couple of adult red-eared sliders that we'd found - no doubt someone's released pets, since they're not native here in New Jersey. They were in an outdoor pen, with a sunken fiberglass pond that was only about a foot deep. We had them for many years...they'd spend the winter under water and emerge in the Spring - despite the fact that in many winters the pond would freeze solid.
You are a great reptile or animal keeper who shows people how to really keep their pets whatever they are the way they should be kept, great job & keep it up
How do you know Lola's cranky. Just her bobbing her head like that? They are so funny. The glimmer twins I wish you could hear me laughing right now because I am. You need to take this shit on the road Kanen. You really do🤣
I have never been a reptile person but after watching your channel it has changed my mind im in the process of moving down south and im 100 percent getting reptiles once im settled in and see want reptiles I can give a good natural life too
I think having a smaller bunker isn’t a bad thing, they all get the heat, you don’t need 10 heat mats, and cheaper on bills, like you said, it’s only for a limited time that they get to cuddle up and otherwise they have the dream life. Florida has hurricanes, southern BC we get fires
Love the videos Kenyan I’m getting and adult female yellow foot soon she’s gonna be in 4x4 feet enclosure inside for the winter months which is only 1-3 months Texas winter is weird but the rest of the year she will be outside
I use the bn-link thermostat controller for my reptiles. There 18 bucks on amazon. Now it is for indoor use but maybe you could put it in a clear plastic box to keep it from getting wet and you can still see the temp just walking by.
Hi Kenan, after watching Animal1 guy's most recent video with his baby black throat, he mentioned that a very good way to tame down monitors is to 'leave your scent where they feel safest'. He does this using old socks and leaving them in the hide. Would something like this work on a larger and adult monitor like Lagertha? I know you've made a lot of progress with her over the past year so it hurts a bit to hear that she gave you a bit of trouble when you were trying to lock her up. Keep up the good stuff Kenan
You should make a wood burning boiler and run water lines through all the enclosures. Only power you need is a small water pump, they’re really efficient, you just have to put wood in once or twice a day. Not too much work to save $600 a month!
Awesome Reptiles Kenan and you do a great job with your reptiles and yeah i use to think Florida was always warm and that's a state i always wanted to visit i live in Illinois so we have to deal with very cold temperatures and stupid snow the good thing is i have leopard gecko, corn snake, ornate wood turtle and a kitten so all indoor animals but in the summer time i take the corn snake out on walks and i take the ornate wood turtle out on the back yard
Where do i get some the of the turtle bins just like the one that the star tortoise that lagatha gave you from? Could really use some help finding one!
You should also invest in one of those Tesla power packs as well. Because they would be able to store that sun power during the day and power all those heat lamps at night. Many are quite powerful with over 10kwh plus
I live at the very bottom top of Texas, like right by the border to Mexico and we get the same type of temperature. It’s probably cold like a total of a weeks worth every year. We also don’t get hurricanes and earthquakes which is nice too lol
Cold hit at just the wrong time to send my RHINO IGUANA. Should warm up soon here too. We don't stay cold long at a time. Got the inside cage ready to go !
I wonder if anyone in Florida or anywhere for that matter, use greenhouses for their animals. I keep thinking about a huge glass greenhouse with solar and coal for heat and electric as well as farm surrounding it for food. It would need a retractable roof in key areas but I think it would work really well. IN Florida you could do that without much need for heat too.
I was thinking the same living in the Netherlands but I guess we have some flooding risks. Most causes no more damage then wet feet and careful driving though. And once in a while the vulcano in Island let's out some smoke and it gets a bit smoky here. But aside from that we are fine. Way better than hurricanes and earth quakes.
Hey just an idea but when having to catch lagitha maybe using the bite proof gloves I see venomous handlers use and it may be both easier for you and her in moving just a thought
My baby sulcata has some sharp looking points on his shell right where his head comes out. They have actually scraped his head. Should I do something to fix that or just leave him alone cause that's just how he is?
love your channel and all the info .i was wondering if you car recomend a rescue for my sulcata i have a bad back and he is getting to big for me to handle.

They seem to work pretty well for me and they also have better brands and other ones that work up to further distances I also use multiple in each enclosure just to make sure that’s also why I have different brands. And also have thermostats inside each enclosure so I can see what it is inside. I am not sitting on 2 1/2 acres but yes I do have an acre of land with enclosures all over the place

It's funny how the monitors spread their arms like they're flying.

The black shell absorbing the heat is incredible
So lucky we had to move our 2year old salc in our garage for the winter even in AZ!
Redfoots might be as safe in the cooler temps as the elongated, some of the mountainous parts of brazil theyre found can get frost in the mornings.
