You are truly a very fortunate, and a very gifted, Figster, Harvey! You have an amazing fig farm and a vast knowledge of figs. How I wish that I could grow just a few trees in your most wonderful climate. It would truly be fig heaven on earth to me if I could do that! Thank you for all of the many contributions that you have made to the fig community! Kind regards from, Lou Monti's Figs!
Lou, I am generally not offering tours to anyone, just too busy for that. But you are welcome to come visit. I was thinking of you last night when watching your latest video. Glad we rarely seen rain on our figs but sure wish we had a lot more in winter. Blessings from California!
@@Figaholics Thanks for the invite, Harvey! Although it's not likely that Debbie and I will be on your side of the country anytime soon, still, we appreciate your warm welcome! Take care, stay safe, and best wishes for a great season! Lou Monti
depends on a lot of factors but in general fig trees are all appealing. if you want a giant upright tree there are a few bushy and also dwarf types to avoid. leaf shape along with fig attractiveness would play roles id research. possibly when it loses its leaves. i would start with a tree that grows well in my climate, produces a lot of figs that i know i enjoy eating. that tree will be beautiful
I won't know until early January. It is a balancing act, there needs to be enough cuttings available to make it worth my time to justify listing them on my site. In addition, if quantity is very small they sell out quickly and many customers get upset because of missing out. Some varieties in the past have sold out in a couple of minutes.
The name is in the title, it is called Harry's Crete, it was given to a friend by a guy named Harry who brought this fig from Crete. It does not require pollination.
I don't know, the timing depends on weather, tree conditions, complications involved with updating web site, etc. I can only estimate sometime around the middle of January, plus or minus 10 days.

Green figs are the best! Great video, Harvey!
Any suggestions on a good fig with great ornamental appeal for landscaping and fruit. Maybe a video idea

Will there be cuttings for Harry Crete available in 2022?

Hello Harvey I didn’t get the name of this variety! Is it a common self fertile fig

How can I get my hands on some less common fig cuttings?
I have a link to my cuttings page at the end of the video
@@Figaholics Thanks! Cutting orders will start on the same date in 2022 as it was in 2021?

@@Figaholics okay…thanks again
Hi Harvey, is this common fig?
Yes, this variety fruits in many states outside of California. Quality is reported to be very good even without caprification.
