Synopsis: The film is set in 326 B.C. when Alexander the Great aka Sikandar (Dara Singh) having conquered Persia and the Kabul valley descends to the Indian Border at Jhelum. King Porus (Prithviraj Kapoor) stops the advance with his troops. Sikander ignores his teacher Aristotle's advice and falls for a Persian woman Rukhsana (Helen).Fearing for Sikandar's life she extracts a promise from Porus that he will not harm Sikandar. In the battle with the Macedonian army Porus loses his son and is captured. An elaborate verbal duel follows in court when Porus is brought before Sikandar. Impressed by Porus's valor, the two kings become friends. Sikandar lets Porus go and withdraws from the Jhelum.

I hv watched Sikandar (1941) besides this film. The old film of sohrab Modi is far far better than this film. Acting dialogue, script, historical gate up, , everything is superior .
Darasingh was a world class wrestler. Darasingh had a best body shape and physique. Darasingh wrestled with great tactics, moves and maneuvers, he was also quick, fast, agile and nobody could compete with him in those days. See interview of Darasingh on RUclips he says -- "On 29 May 1968 he defeated American champion wrestler Lou Thesz and became the world champion, before that he lost some matches (but the success or winning graff was always high). After winning the title he only defended his title from 1968 to 1983".
Darasingh travelled all over the world for wrestling matches. A simple farmer from Punjab who could not get proper education became a world champion, an actor, producer, director, writer, owner of a film studio -- 'Dara studio' at Mohali, a politician. He had great wrestling world records, Darasingh defeated almost all big wrestlers, names like Ricky Dozan, Lou Thesz, Danny Lynch, John Dasilva, George Gordienco, 'The Butcher' Vachon, Baron Gattoni, Bill Verna, Bill Robinson, Syed Saif Shah of Pakistan, Wadi Ayub, King Kong (Emil Zacza), Dan Miller, Firpo Zebysco, The Crusher, Brut Bernard, Roy Haffernan, George Pencheff, Birt Assirty, Baron Von Heczy, Ski Hi Lee, Ray Appolon and many more. Please watch interview of great American wrestler Lau Thesz (who fought 6000 matches in his life was a most experienced and successfull), he says about Darasingh -- 'Great Wrestler from India, Darasingh' he further says 'British Queen and her 4000 guests were present for the match of Dara and Lau at Royal Albert Hall, London'. There were 60,000 people for the match at Bombay between Dara and Lau. He also wrote a page about Darasingh in his Autobiography by name 'The Hooker'. Therefore WWF has Honored this Great Indian Punjabi for two times (Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame in 1996 and WWF in 2018). We the Indians should fill proud of such a big personality. It is shameful that our 'Doordarshan' never ever showed any match of the 'Great Darasingh'. We only watch Cricket and no other game. Watching this movie after decades, i just realize that the use of Persio-Urdu idioms here make no sense, including the very title. The hero is from Macedonia, Greece 🙏🏼
Greek history is also present in Persian chronicles which was accepted as by Central Asia and India. Just like all folklore it deviates from true history.

Wrong. Dara Singh cannot enter in Alexzander the Great coz his dialogue delivery is Punjabi style. I mean his accent. If you really want to see the person who was fit from Indian cinema to Alexzander's/Sikander role watch Sikandar-e-Azam (1965). He did justice to his role not Dara Singh.
