Im 31 and this was my first harvest moon game when i was a kid on gamecube. Its also my fave game in the series. Story, sounds, scenes, characters, atmosphere, all why its my fave. And too because its happy nostalgia for me. ❤ ive been waiting years for this game to get a remake. I already preordered weeks ago. It is also my fave nintendo game besides zelda. I own every copy of the old harvest moons on gamecube and other systems until the company split to become story of seasons. Its my collection. This game got me through the best and worst times as a kid and teenager. I also didnt own a playstation so I never got to play the special edition. Also, yes. Gordys name used to be Cody. I remember a ton of the original game also and names. The doctors name changed as well from Hardy to something else. The harvest sprites names used to be Nik, Nak, and Flak. Now they named them after a Deck of cards.
FYI: you just have to press down on the d-pad to shift to caps for the typing. They made Lumina older to make it less awkard if you choose to go after her. The Wild animals indecated when the best spot is to do the fishing for that day. also if the dog is outside the mine it indicates that day is good for working in minning.
Watching you give up on a dig spot as soon as something spawns in the ground was driving me crazy lol 😆 you can see when something spawns... just keep digging there until you get the item

In the ps2 version you could skip meeting the townies so it’s cool to know they changed that in the original games as well c: I love that they actually introduced the characters rather than just telling you about them too. I need to get this game for nostalgia’s sake.

Game is quite different from the other story of season game releash so far for the switch. Way harder then the other game and so different, deffently something to adjust to.

Watching your let’s play to see if I would like the game. I’ve been playing PoOT for 3 days straight but picked it up when it came out. I remember this game though back in the day, it actually put a bad taste in my mouth and left me not wanting to play farming games until years later when I discovered innocent life and that game got me into farming games. I would love to give this game a chance as I enjoy farming games a lot more now (I have so many of them lol) but a friend of mine said if I didn’t like the original I probably wouldn’t like this one.

The controls on A Wonderful Life SE were clonky and felt unnatural on a PlayStation controller. I immediately turned off the haptics when i felt how strong they were jumping the fence. FORGET about directing your animals manually 🙃 The GameCube version flowed so much nicer and id be lying if i said i didn't abuse the "sleep glitch" to replenish my energy. 😅😎 I now own this game on ohhh, 5 different systems, no i dont need help..
The downside to keeping a male cow is that you have no control over when fenale cows are bred. I played this on GameCube and only ever borrowed a male cow.

True, tho Lumina was already added as a marriage candidate in the Special Edition from way before this 2023 remake. Married Celia (Cecilia) myself, but I've seen my sibling marry Lumina in the SE version. Can't personally say anything about whether Gordy was added as a bachelor in 2023 or has always been marriageable. If anyone has the answer, please let me know.

lmfao you're not crazy, some names got changed I'm pretty sure because of stuff having to do with it not being a "harvest moon" game anymore and some of the names I guess are copyrighted or something, I don't 100% remember the reasoning behind the name changes though I think the names used in this version may be correct translations from the Japanese names
If it were correct translation, they would be translating it directly rather than Western localisation Example Muffy in Original GC and PS2 In Japanese she was called Muumuu but English version of remake is Molly Tartan in Original GC and PS2 Japan version was called Tsurutan English version of remake is called Vinny For me, either do the direct translation name or keep the original name Celia from original (Sephiria in Japanese) becoming Cecilia (like what...) is it necessary to do localisation when translating? This situation is same as Yakuza franchise The Japanese call the main character either Kiryu or Kazuma or Kiryu Kazuma (full name) but English localisation translation called him Kaz which is just weird

Omg I hate this game because I can’t play the game the way I want to!” Those options are exactly what they are…an OPTION. If you don’t like them, even if you’re “anti pride”, then…ignore them and simply don’t choose them. Trust me, the world has bigger problems than some people choosing to use pronouns for themselves in a farming simulation video game

Im definetly getting this as soon as it comes out.
But one thing I want to know is how the player pays for ultilities, and a mortgage on top of it.

they changed the names of a few characters like they did in friends of mineral town and i think Lumina has been added as one for marriage
