Hey beautiful ppl! So here’s an update! MY HAIR STILL FEELS AHHHHMAZINGGGGG. I’m scared tho, so I’m gonna wash my hair today lol. But I’m doing it again for sure. Let me know if you’ve tried using a deep conditioner as your leave in! Love y’all for watching ❤️
I did it on accident once with the Shea Moisture Deep Treatment vs the Deep Conditioner in a similar jar (in my shower caddy). Fewer days wear but overall did not impact my curl texture or pattern. To be safe I followed up with a protein treatment because my hair was still very soft.
happycurlhappygirl you can buy uniqurl on instagram. The handle is the name of the brand. I bought their leave in conditioner and it didn’t mix well with any of my gels including wetline Xtreme. 😭 when I did the African moisture miracle line mixed with wetline it clumped up when I tested it on my hand. Same happened with crime of nature’s pure honey twisting cream and their mango and Shea bitter leave in. I always test for clumps in my hand before applying to my hair. Now I have a lot of products I can’t use with my gels. 🙄
I've been doing my wash n go's like this for ages. It works! I don't have to separately deep condition anymore, but my hair still gets the same effect. I do actually steam with my deep conditioner at least once a month. 5 + years no harm or damage. Make sure its not a protein deep conditioner though...
In my 10 year journey I can only count in one hand the number of times I've used a deep conditioner as an actual deep conditioner. I ALWAYS use it as a prepoo, especially if its not organic. But lately I've been using it as a leave-in/moisturizer and my hair's been loving it. I also use a spray leave in sometimes and its a game changer.
I literally just started doing this yesterday, like why am I about to rinse out something that work so good for my hair, especially if its organic shii!
Melanie Robinson nice it’s crazy how I said I was going to do this but I do use Aussie but I’m going to try shea moisture DC next wash day...thanks for replying
I use a regular conditioner (not deep conditioner) as a leave in all the time. My hair gets super dry very very easily. I'm pretty sure I'm high porosity naturally so I need tons of moisture. However I do make sure it's a silicone free conditioner most of the time. I notice I get better results and my gels don't dry my stands out so bad like they do with plain ol' leave ins. Now I just use the leave in as a day to day refresher/moisturizer along with my spray bottle. Edited to add: I do use a sulfate shampoo at least once a month as well so I haven't experienced issues with build up.
I wish I could have given this a thousand likes! This is priceless, just what I was searching for! Not for the wash and go aspect of it ( I'm 4c and not a fan of the look on my hair), I just hate to go back in the shower after I came out and sat under a steam cap/ hood dryer for 20 minutes! Sooo what I got from this (and the research you showed) is that: once I keep it 2 inches away from my scalp, and use normal shampoos when I wash my hair, then I'm good to go! No more washing my hair after my deep conditioning session for me! At least I'll try it a couple of times and see how it goes. The worst I anticipate is that my hair will be extremely dirty at the end of two weeks, other than that- the 'weighing your curls down' scenario will be a plus for me! Lol. 😁
Man! Thank you...that's the exact product that brought me to this video. I use the Proclaim Intense Hydrating Masque as a leave-in. It is absolutely fantastic but I wanna try Aussie because their products smell soooo good and they are cheap! Cheers!
I use deep conditioner as a leave-in sometimes. I’ll do my normal DC process (with heat for 30 min) then I’ll rinse some out just so that not so much is left on my scalp (while leaving most of the conditioner in.) I love it!
Oh yea....I used to put deep conditioner in my hair as my leave in all the time! And the results are wonderful!!!!! I ran out of the specific container and I couldn't find more..... otherwise I would still be doing it. Looking at your results- I'm going to go try that again😉. Your hair looks magnificent!!!!
Period! I just needed confirmation this was ok and these comments proved that! My hair is so much more moisturized when I leave in my deep conditioner 💕Thanks y’all!
I use conditioner for my wash n go almost every time. I rinse my hair in the shower with the hot water, detangle with Pantene conditioner or tressemme (spelled wrong probably), then i rinse half of it out. After that i put olive oil or my oil concoction in then add a little more conditioner if needed the my wet line or eco style Krystal or argan oil.
Wow. This video popped up right after i put on and decided to try leaving in my deep conditioner. I love the way ors hair mayonnaise leaves my hair feeling and looking. Your hair looks awesome.
🧐 This actually makes a lot of sense bc you're supposed to leave it in for a long time anyway so why not seal it in with the gel and go about your day? Seems that the gel could kind of work like a protective plastic cap except you can go outside without looking crazy 🤔
I usually use the garnier frutis one minute mask as a leave in and it keeps my hair super moisturized for DAYS! My hair is usually super dry and brittle so I will be trying this out sis! Thanks :) if I go bald I wont blame you lol!
I’ve been doing for years shea moisture conditioner as a leave in, and lately i’ve been putting as a leave-in the hair mask of AS IAM ‘hydration elevation’ and I get the most amazing results. Super hydrated without flattening my hair. Just perfect!
I LOVE Uniqurl products 😍 try the curl-forming custard gel Sis! I know how you feel about custards, but THIS one is different! Touched by the pebble that David used to take out Goliath! ❤️
I recently started using the Mielle Rosemary and Mint line of products but I would always use African Best deep conditioning hair mayonnaise. I had some major breakage from dying and then perming my hair. So I continued to use the shampoo and mayonnaise and the leave-in conditioner from Mielle but I still had alot of breakage after conditioning. My hair would feel soft but still be so tangled. So I did some trial and error. I oiled my scalp, shampooed, deep conditioned with the mayonnaise then mixed the mayo with a liquid leave-in conditioner. BOOM! Less breakage, easier to comb, softer and manageable! So that will be my new routine from now on!
This is something I do a lot and just did years ago because I was out of a leave in & I was like gotta do what ya gotta do lol and it was amazing the definition and Moisturization was everything!!!!!
I've been using conditioner as a leave in (busy mom with dry hair)... But never a DEEP conditioner 🤔 🤷🏿♀️ (Don't do wash n gos anymore unless I'm actually washing and going).
I have used the Garnier Fructis 1 minute hair mask (you can use it has a hair mask, leave in or regular conditioner and I used it has a leave conditioner my hair turned out beautiful😩and your hair came out sooo BOMB OMG the curls are so pretty and your hair is so nice and fluffy love it!
I've never used that brand but do follow them on the gram. They don't use silicones in their products so I'm sure you'll be good if you leave it in. You're hair looks so nice. That shine is 🥰🙌. I'm glad you not intending to, did a lil review of this deep conditioner cuz the price of it is why I never tried it. It's too expensive for me. Maybe one day during a big sale or something.
I have used Queen Helene Cholesterol deep conditioner as a leave in conditioner since the 1980’s. Every time I wash I use it, period. I usually deep conditioning and don’t rinse it all out. And if I do I add a little bit back to my hair and proceed in my styling.
OK! You're hair is so lustrous and gorgeous!! I just used my deep conditioner as leave in today..talk about moisturizer.. This works good for my 4B/C hair 😎
I use the Garnier Fructis smoothing treat hair mask as a leave-in regularly (listed that it can be used as a mask, conditioner or leave-in). I have refreshed my hair by dampening the hair and using a DC to moisturize and seal. Most DC contain oil. It depends on what's in, and what you prefer. I hope you like it so you don't have to wash it again.
I honestly had this THOUGHT recently because me and moisture need to be besties this winter... definitely a good video idea 🙌🏾 I used Aussie as a leave in but I may need to use a natural product instead because it does dry out. I’m excited to do mine now 🙌🏾
I've used deep conditioner as a styler when on Hawaiian vacay. It's so humid it works. Also if you're going to be in and out of the water daily there's no point in using multiple products.

I have never thought about using a deep conditioner as a leave in before, I would be so afraid it might weight my hair down too much. It turned out beautiful!! 💕
You got me thinking i should just try it out one day. I hate buying leave ins or extra products in general. My DC had been doing very well and i never wanna rinse it. Maybe ill try this next wash day buy just rinsing some out.
I think this is one of my favorite wash and gos by you! I got curious about using a deep conditioner as a leave in because ALL the leave-ins I've used DO NOT keep my hair moisturized (all I know is I have high porosity, type 3 curls and I don't know why nothing works). If it works and has no negative effects I may stick with this for awhile until I figure find a leave in that's worthy.

Hi, love your videos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ Honestly I always use a deep conditioner and/or regular rinse out conditioner and leave it in (mostly because I’m too lazy to wash it out half the time). I’ve been doing it for a year or 2 and my hair has grown constantly. 🤷🏾♀️

I applied it weekly and washed every 2 weeks. My hair grew past my shoulders fir the first time ever... then they changed the mf formula, and I cant find the oil anywhere
GORGEOUS RESULTS 😍💗 so pretty, moisturized, & juicy!!! Love it!! I’ve always wondered about this concept because I love the way my hair looks with a deep conditioner in it! Thanks for doing this video! 🤩
Hey Sis! Hello congregation! It looks so good 😍! I am like you, I am scary and I don't like washing more than I need to! I would with a cheaper deep conditioner, maybe water it down a lot.
I just got through watching a video where this girl said not to use deep conditioners like regular or leave ins and to wash them out after 30 mins max because it will cause hydral fatigue and moisture overload....but now I'm tempted.
First I want to say I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!! You’ve helped me because I have different texture and curl patterns 🙄 now I do have A question I tried this and sus it came out um...different 😂😂 it was more stiff, it wasn’t as bouncy, and my curls were clumped together, am I maybe adding to much gel and not enough leave in, PLEASE HELP
Hey Rayna, just a little FYI on this product. In California there is a proposition 65. Which says that there are ingredients in this product that causes cancer. Just want to look out for all our family. OneLove🙏❤️✌️
Loving the large soft curl pattern. Beautiful ! Your hair really is long. Side bar: Did you like that last color product from your video. Need to find one without ammonia. Your color looks great.
Beautiful hair as always but ladies, please research all ingredients since some conditioners are not meant to be leave-ins because of the chemicals/preservatives used. Some ingredients should not remain on the scalp or close to it; they should be rinsed out completely right after conditioning.
I’ve never done this before. I always read it’s supposed to be a bad thing to leave in a deep conditioner. How do I know it won’t damage my hair long term?
Emonyie Hopkins More than the leave-in milk? I want to have high hopes for it, but it’s such a tiny bottle... I feel like I could get the same effect if I just watered down the deep conditioner.

Honestly 😭
Water down the conditioner like 3:1 water to conditioner. That will reduce that stickiness. It will also save your product.

I can’t stop laughing. The clips and meme voiceover things are everything 🤣
I do this all the time because I'm not in the position to get a new leave in. It's perfect if you want to do a twist style.
Oh sis!! It came out good but me too I’m scared to try it!😬
Hey Rayna, just a little FYI on this product.
Yes I did!
damnnn queen! you are stunning!
Beautiful hair as always but ladies, please research all ingredients since some conditioners are not meant to be leave-ins because of the chemicals/preservatives used. Some ingredients should not remain on the scalp or close to it; they should be rinsed out completely right after conditioning.
I’ve done this with ausie moist 3 min miracle with nothing else added, best braid out ever
I’ve never done this before. I always read it’s supposed to be a bad thing to leave in a deep conditioner. How do I know it won’t damage my hair long term?
I do that all the time. Brazil has 35oz multifuncional products. Try Novex, I know they are selling in USA
Liked.
Very true I just tried Skala🥰
Lucinea Sima me too! Skala, novex, kanechon
Hey girl I love your videos and what your all about❤❤
That's crazy I just used Shea Moisture Manuka Honey as a leave in condtioner to redo my mini twist
Emonyie Hopkins
Been thinking about using that one as a leave in 🤔
I love it
Emonyie Hopkins
More than the leave-in milk? I want to have high hopes for it, but it’s such a tiny bottle... I feel like I could get the same effect if I just watered down the deep conditioner.
@@denyshadials5702 Yes water it down to your liking I have high porosity hair and I need thicker products to keep my hair moisturized for longer
I love your beautiful spirit GOD BLESS MA ALL DAY EVERY DAY and side note I love doing this but my complexion not so much
Listen! You might have changed the game lol. It looks beautiful as always
I was the same thing and saving us some coins!🤣
Does the denman brush make a NOTICEABLE difference?
Never bought a leave in conditioner EVER - I never rinse out my deep conditioner fully and that serves as my leave in
I use Sweet Sugar by Belle Criniere as my leave in. That is super moisturizing deep conditioner, your hair turned out lovely! Stay Beautiful!
