It's funny when I look back at when the Superman movie was originally released. I was born in 79 of December, one year after. But I did grow up watching the movies, eventually and for me, like everyone else who saw the films. He made Superman so realistic on screen, like he was made for the role before he knew it himself. He'll always be the original Superman in everyone's eyes because he set the tone and the benchmark for it.
The moment his daughter started crying and then you hear Christopher say how his wifes words saved his life... i lost it lol very moving. What an amazing man, and the fact Robin was such a close friend speaks volumes of both their characters.
So good to see I’m not the only grown man who still has an unwavering affection for Christopher Reeve’s ‘Superman.’ There are so many wonderful facets to his role, both as Superman and Clarke Kent. It’s a timeless performance and his smile to camera at the end of the movie still gives me goosebumps.
if this is the first release project of DCU under James Gunn.. then the future is bright for DCU.. this Movie will set the tone for the entire Cinematic Universe… HOPE!
I totally agree with you Nick he was my favorite Superman actor too still to this day there will never be another person who plays Superman that will actually come as close as Christopher Reeves did he embodied the character he was Superman in my opinion May he rest in peace with his wife it's her to believe she died soon after he did I think maybe a year or two young May they both rest in peace
Wow, so powerful! I remember back in the day thinking Christopher Reeve couldn't possibly pull off the role of Superman. I have never been so wrong in my life. He played the part so wonderfully. And to this day I still remember when Superman saved Lois Lane (Margot Kidder) from falling off a building by swooping in and catching her. He said "Don't worry, I've got you." And she replied "You've got me? Who's got you?" I laugh at that every time. Then came that awful day when he got hurt. Honestly, I prayed and prayed he would make it. He made me believe in miracles. Even though that miracle never happened for him, I still believe today in only good outcomes. As is life, I sometimes have to deal with not-so-good outcomes, but the belief remains. May Christopher Reeve and his wife Dana rest in peace.
I was fortunate to see the premiere at Sundance Film Festival and meet the Reeves, the children. I have always loved superman and what he stands for since a young child. Although they had the ability to live in the earth among men, they had power over the elements of earth, power over the law of gravitation, by which they could move over the face of the earth with the speed of their own thoughts.
Your reaction here was so genuine! 🫶 I’m from Denmark & I grew up in the early 80’s. Superman is the first movie I remember seeing. Christopher Reeve’s portrayal as Clark/Superman is UN_matched for so, so, SO many reasons!! And that was just Reeve in a part. I can’t wait to see this documentary. He will forever be Super/Man!
Who would rip you apart for your tenderness? I love seeing you tenderness and compassion to a special individual who endured so much suffering, but still inspire so many and gave hope to so many with this injury. He didn't quit.❤
My son is 5 and with 80s babies for parents, has seen the first Superman. He LOVES it and we have the theme playing all the time, he dresses up, just loves all things about (the only!) Superman! Breaks my heart that he’ll one day have to be told what happened to Christopher Reeve, just like it broke all our hearts back in the day. But also, how important it is that loving (the only!) Superman, he eventually learns about the next-level superhero that Christopher Reeve was.
Descanse En Paz Gran Actor Christopher Reeve. Vivirá Inmortal en sus Películas. Entrevistas. Extraordinario Actor. En Octubre 2024. Cumple veinte años de su fallecimiento. Ejemplo de vida. Superman.
I don't know if there's any point to life, but I admire Christopher Reeve. I love the 3D animation where he soars in the sky, where he merges the man with the hero. It's a transcendent message.
As an early 80s baby, Christopher Reeve introduced me to the Superman character the same way Michael Keaton introduced me to the Batman character. I used to love watching the Superman movies when I caught them on TV in the late 80s.
The early superhero movies were the best. Because us comic book fans were finally seeing our heroes in live action film. And their were no social agendas. Just fun movies made with the goal to entertain.
@@IndyMotoRider Hollywood has always made movies with social agendas. The difference is, you don't notice the ideas you agree with and the ones you don't agree with, become a problem.
Christopher Reeve, Michael Schumacher, Steve Irwin and many others... people that in our hearts were invincible, but the fate strikes without distinction... 😢😢😢😢😢
I'm an 80s kid i grew up on Christopher Reeve SUPERMAN!! HE IS WAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE SUPERMAN TO ME 💯🤘🔥 Now I'm 46 and Even my wife knows if she sees the old Superman movies on TV to put it on and leave it!! 😂❤ You can't even explain to ANYONE that didn't grow up with it how GREAT it was, how he REALLY seemed like SUPERMAN as a kid, for me personally it never even registered that he was an actor with a life and family, I just thought HE WAS SUPERMAN and in-between movies he was Clark Kent Somewhere until SUPERMAN was needed again 😂❤
NO ONE WILL EVER SURPASS HIM AS THE REAL SUPERMAN, and in the real world, he was a true SUPER-MAN. I went to see Superman the movie, in 1978 when I was only 14 years old, I had read the comics in hundreds of magazines, when I saw the movie, Christopher Reeve, jumped on the screen as the right man, the resemblance was amazing, and he had very good reviews with his Clark Kent, A GREAT CHOICE! VERY RIGHT! and if the movie worked so well it was 80% thanks to him... the one and only Christopher Reeve. + REST IN PEACE. This trailer made me emotional and I even cried, I AM SURE, THAT THE MOVIE WILL BE INCREDIBLY INSPIRING.. AND WHAT GREAT MUSIC! It's going to be a sea of tears.
Awrite lad! Im the same. Im Gen X.. he was my Superman. Always will be. Only 2 celebrity deaths have ever really got to me. Christopher Reeve & John Candy. Absolute icons of my childhood. The cinemas gona be cuttin onions watchin this. Miss you Supes❤ All best from up the road🏴 P.s.. not long now lad for the 2 in the box👍🏻
The absolute epitome of genuine & how a great channel should be run. With the best opening of anyone -- particularly for his Elvis Sundays. An absolute pleasure to watch.
I feel you mate, definitely great trailer. Im from'79. Knew him also from other movies. Great & humble actor. Sad that his buddy left this world after 10 yrs after Chris . The world wasnt the same after this. Only his children survived.. so sad... My thoughts goes out to them & their fam&close friends
Outside of Elvis I cried when he passed away He's the only other star while I have to take that back Michael Landon too that was the only three men that I actually cried over when they passed away they were my favorites Elvis was tops number one then Christopher and Michael Landon all three of my favorite men my favorite actors are all gone May they all three rest in peace
Only one flaw in this trailer / studio -- a percentage of the money made from the showings should be donated to the foundation cause that might get people to come who might be on the fence. I mean what else are they going to see ? -- the crappy Crow retelling ?? -- yeah no -- IF you go to a movie this should be it - period
I would be very surprised if that’s not the case already. The family look to have heavy involvement in this production, so it would be a good guess to say that a percentage of the profits will be paid forward.

Must be an absolute treasure for those who grew up with it.
Especially those who were kids and kids at heart watching the Richard Donner directed original released in December 1978
It was... in my country Argentina all the kids put on towels as if they were a cape and ran around wanting to be like Christopher
I was a kid in the 70’s, he was our Superhero, 😢
Oh believe me it was ❤ Seeing him as superman back then was magical.

I can't believe it's been 20 yrs since he passed. I'm 51 and the original Superman movies were a big part of my youth.
He was my first superhero when I was growing up and still is
❤ He wasn’t only Superman on the silver screen but in real life too. RIP Legend.
