Hello Peanut Gallery! I have Block #8 for the Quilt Block Party! I ended up really liking this one too. It was a bit more time consuming, but very unique so I think it was worth it! I hope you enjoy! xoxo
I also use to think i always had to have the very first piece exactly in the middle of the whole thing, but now that i seen this tutorial of yours, i now know that i don't have to worry bout having it directly in the center. thank you Darlene!!! you made my day!
Darlene, you take the stress out of quilting and make it fun, fun, fun.I love your work and have already started on my own crumb quilt but now I want to start on this!Well done Darlene,I can hardly wait for your next video.
If you were going to put a border around the block before sewing do you need to put a foundation on the border pieces ? I hope you understand what I mean. LOL
I like the idea of doing each block then put it together but not sure how to do that .... if your adding the batting and then the back piece and then quilting I don't understand how then you can add them together.... so maybe one day you could show how to do that ❤️ Thanks
Yes, you can have any size that you want. If you're making a tote bag, cut the foundations the size you want your tote bag to be and allow for an inch or so seam allowance. And your foundation does not have to be square. It can be a rectangle if you prefer.
Thank you for answering so quickly. I ran into your video and I love it. I'm trying this right now. So again thank you for answering so quickly. I went to your other video also and started watching it, while I waited. lol . So I asked a question on it also. lol I Subscribed to your youtube.
I lost my second question. I don't know what happened. But it said you answered but I cant find it. But I was wondering does the foundation fabric have to be a certain kind of fabric? or can I use any kind for my foundation. Sry if I'm driving your crazy lol I think this is the last question lol
Second question is here somewhere. lol You can use any fabric you want but not stretchy fabric or not something slinky. Any cotton is good including flannel or any cotton poly blend or anything that does not stretch. You can cut up an old sheet if you want or pick one up at a thrift store.

Thanks you.
I also forgot to tell you I have my Mothers sewing machine and from what I can see yours is just like my Mothers Singer. Is yours an old SINGER?
Yes, it's either 1959 or 1960. And I just checked and it's a 401A. I think I've been saying it's a 301A.
How big do you cut your foundation piece? Just as big as you want?
