Shing02 Had made a post about the history of Luv Sic and how part 5 came to be. Between 2000 and 2004 he wrote Luv Sic 1-3 with Nujabes then in 2005 he told Nujabes he wanted to write parts 4 - 6 and Nujabes agreed to produce them so they exchanged beats for a few years. Around 2009 he met a beatboxer named Jeff who at the time was battling cancer and he was a big fan of Shing02 also Luv sic part 3 was his favourite song. In January of 2010, Jeff died of cancer and Shing02 wrote the lyrics and asked Nujabes if they can use those with Luv Sic part 5. Originally Nujabes disagreed because the song seemed too dark and gloomy but eventually they agreed. But before they could release part 5, Shing02 found out about Nujabes' passing in March of 2010. He then continued onto writing the second part to Luv Sic part 5. So the first half of Luv Sic part 5 is about his friend Jeff and the second part is about Nujabes.

Had a buddy who passed away from a really bad car crash back in 2021. A few months later i discovered Nujabes, specifically this Luv Sic Hexalogy and hearing part 5 for the first time had me in a whirlwind of emotions. To this day I can’t stop listening to his music, always excited to possibly find some new remix or just a new song in general. I come back every once in a while to this song specifically to reminisce. The one lesson I’ve learned from Nujabes’ music, is to never take anything in life for granted. No matter how good or bad the situation you are in, things can get better if you never give up hope. Rest in Beats, to all our good friends lost.

The first time I heard this song I cried my eyes out. Shing02 definitely did his thing on this and so did Nujabes. R.I.P to the legendary producer. Nujabes forever

My sister died about 1 month and half ago and the lyrics of this song touched a part of me that I don't feel comfortable sharing with other people. Funny enough I was looking for a ringtone for my new phone and I stumble across the song again. I guess I know what song I'll be choosing.

Three years ago this month someone I held very dear to me was taken from this world. Before that we had a falling out because I was a damn fool, throwing away one of the best friendships I’ve ever had. I had received the news one night after work, and couldn’t believe it. I still don’t, but I haven’t stopped thinking about her ever since then. She was on the kindest people I ever knew with two beautiful children and if I could, I’d give anything to bring her back.
