- Mustafa Barghouti, the Secretary General of the Palestinian National Initiative and former Information Minister, joins Al Jazeera’s live from Ramallah and highlights that the International Court of Justice, the world's highest legal authority, has unequivocally condemned Israel's denial of the occupation. The court reaffirmed that the occupation is illegal and that the Geneva Convention applies to the occupied territories. It declared that the ongoing Israeli occupation and all settlements are unlawful and must be dismantled. Furthermore, the court has mandated that all countries respect this resolution and refrain from supporting Israel in maintaining the occupation.

@@EduIglesias-w3qbut 52 countries came together and presented evidence to the court over 5 days. These countries petitioned for an advisory opinion from the court. Even though this is an advisory opinion, it is huge going forward in many aspects.

That case has been settled back in May. Al Jazeera just didn't report on it because the ICJ concluded that no genocide was taking place.

Well even without the religious claim, that's what happened according to history too. The Kingdom of Israel was there as early as 1200 BC (probably longer but that's the first mention of Israel in an archeological find, the Merneptah Stele). The Arabs (which the Palestinians claim to be) only came to the region in the 7th century. This isn't even a contentious issue this is just historical fact.
