Akshay Kumar before 2014 was different from Akshay Kumar today. OMG is in my opinion one of the greatest movies ever made, simply because of its neutral nature. I hope this movie would be neutral as well and won't incline towards one faith or belief. I hope this movie wouldn't be used as a tool to spread propaganda. Because all we need is love to develop a peaceful society. I hope Akshay Kumar won't disappoint. Definitely waiting for this movie!

i remember watching omg with my parents. the movie was ahead of its time with its message towards our society. hopefully the second part will also have an amazing message behind it

Watched OMG with my mom today. Almost made me cry. That movie is so good. But during the first half, it's full of scenes & dialogues which would be considered extremely negative & controversial today. Because today's India is exactly everything the original movie stood against.
Krishna (Akshay) tells kanji that he exists in every particle in existence. He doesn't need humans to build a home for him, he already has one. People seek him in wrong things, wrong place. Doing wrong things & rituals thinking it'll make him happy. He only want true faith & love from his worshippers.
Mithun Chakraborty's character says this brilliant line to Kanji at the end ; "ये आस्था, श्रद्धा, अफीम के नशे की तरह है कांजी। एक बार लत लग गई ना, आसानी से नहीं छूटती। ये जो आप लोग देख रहे हो ना, they're not god-loving people, they're god-fearing people। आज नहीं तो कल, कहीं ये लोग फिर से किसी आश्रम में ना दिख जाएं। निर्भय भावा।"

In the movie, Kanji & Krishna expose the fake Baba's & foolish rituals like wasting milk in temples. In today's India, one party claims to have the copyright of hindutva. It's making sure that people buy their idea. Because they too, like fake godmen, are running their business in the name of god, asking for vote in the name of god.
Hardcore bhakts are truly not different than drug addicts. They'll choose to follow false gods even if it means marching towards their doom.
@rishabhtiwari7785 That's right. Celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri or Janmashtami are part of our culture and these activities gives us happiness and positive energy. Although wasting food material like milk & honey in shiv mandir is still stupid. If you're prosperous, giving food & resources to those who aren't is what every religion teach.
Movie didn't covered many aspects.
But what that movie covered was very important. Movie was about changing our perspective of god, which is quite selfish even in today's time. Instead of helping each others in the name of god, we're busy fighting each other. Both godmen & politicians, among many others, exploit religious sentiments of people for their own gains.
Celebrating festivals is dear to use. Faith and Superstitions are different things. One is powered by positive energy, other one by misguided fear. And it's the latter which makes it easy for pandits & godmen to fool people and make a business out of it.
Now this is the Akshay kumar we love!! Not that copy paste one😀
