I agree that this version sits better with me as well, McCay was very unique in style, and very good live, but McGeoch had a way of improvising on stage in a manner that few can. His rifts with Armory Show and especially PIL exhibit a high degree of flexibility. Great to see thesew old clips, wish more were available.
You're doing them a great justice. I grew up listening to U2. I wish my parents had played the banshees, but I think they were too dark for them to handle : )
Such a great song from such a great band, one of my 3 fave ones from them. It's such a pity they blanded down with 1988's "Peepshow", I can remember how disappointed I was then, my copy nearly fell off my hands. Happily, that year, Lush took over from the Banshees.
Actually, there's a beat that he constantly does on Juju. I don't know what it's called and I don't want to know either cause I'm not a musician. Notice the floor tom and the snare, sometimes he changes the timing or adds toms and cymbals. I love that beat. I must admit I use it a lot too and he's a big influence.
I agree John McGeogh was the greatest guitarist EVER but John McKay had that unique sound he was once called the sound of The Banshees if you didnt already know.
I guessed you would know! Yes I agree with you John McGeogh played it his way which was the best for me anyway but I know what you mean regarding John McKay's totally unique sound on the material he worked on during his time with them. I think that Kenny Morris was a unique drummer as well but I prefer Budgie as the drummer so much power and energy Morris had a sort of regimented style of drumming I think.
Okay, I know this is literally a decade-old comment, but in the off-chance someone's scrolling through the comments, might as well answer. It sounds to me like "durch Lautsprecher" roughly meaning "through loudspeaker". I get the impression that she's not overly happy with the audio visuals on this concert. Certainly the recording quality doesn't seem to be quite on a par with Nocturne.
What a band, what a singer. This is utterly magnificent. A word for Budgie on drums - amazing.
Excellent rock group. Unsurpassed even after 20 years.
You can add another 15 years to that now!
32 years later this song still fucking kicks ass!
Admirable guitarist (John McGeoch) wonderful drummer (Budgie). One of best the periods of the group. Thank you !
McGeoch is genius.
Gergoues! Hypnotic voice! Great goth band!!!
Much respect John. You will be missed!
OMG I just love this song! One of my favorites!! =)
guitarist is great! ^...^ i enjoy his playing
A vocal so unique and powerful. Haunting.
Patti, Debbie, Joan, Chrissie, Siouxsie, Nina, Lene, Kate, Ari, Exene and Lydia. The definitive Punk era chicks.
Also: Kim, Penelope, Poly, & Cosi.
Siouxsies voice at its very best i must say..
My heart beats to the rhythm of the drums..
just listened to "pulled to bits" cover by The Mars Volta and i cant stop listening to Siouxsie & The Banshees !!
This is the best performance of this particular song that I have so far seen.
Love you always my queen Siouxsie ❤️❤️❤️💋💋
This a top live version. Seen them at the manchester apollo on the tour when they split up and the cure were supporting em. R.Smith took over.
They were da bomb during this time ohh yeahhh!!
Uno de los primeros temas con los que conocí Siouxsie and the Banshees.
Perfecto : )

Saw the JU JU tour in Cardiff Sophia Gardens I was 17 apart from the wanker skin heads it was brilliant!
I'd rather own this on DVD than Nocturne! Not that I don't enjoy Nocturne, but I prefer McGeoch over Smith.

Oh - LA Très Féline félonne !...

Can't get out of mode since mode was always beside the baskets !
better sound (guitar) then nocturno
Cos McGeoch was playing here and not Smith
That guitarist is dead. : (
Simple, are you Lizzette A as well? You know alot about the group (The Banshees).
She says something in German I believe. Does anybody know what she says?
