all shugo needs to be good is chain pressure, and more damage on hug, also a simple guardbreak rework would be nice, hold heavy for demon ball, tap for normal heavy, and make hug do at least 24 damage after a throw or parry.
Ive always wanted to main shugoki but majority of the heros now outdated shugoki but you gotta play slow and take control of the fight he's pretty good in team fights especially when he the enemy gets revenge he can demon embrace but im down anytime to play with shugoki if you'd like I'm aiming to get him to rep 70
You can also catch some side dashes with his unlockable heavy. I've caught many berserkers and kensais with that. You can easily just cancel the move if you don't predict it right
Give him a double light chain. The animation could be him hitting them with the kanabo and then hitting them with the pommel instead of recovering or him punching/head butting. That way the kanabo still keeps its weight and u can work around it being a slow weapon.
I dont think so other than the guardbreak throw into the embrace. At least i didnt find one. You can obviously throw them into the wall and just guardbreak again for the embrace. But those are the only 2 ways i know of

I don't play much games now because of work but they're still playing, and For Honor happens to be one I'm also interested in. I'm sure when he's big enough and sees you playing, you'll pique his interest and he'll be wanting to play too and for years to come even.

for new players he also left out a pretty good chain, zone - guard break - heavy or light - repeat starting with light or zone
