    Landed handful of striper with this rod. I love this rod. I paired it with a Daiwa Lexa 300. I do have to say, that longer handle plays a big roll when muscling in bigger fishes.

    My first impression of this was oh no, i dont like it, but i kept coming back to it and ended up buying one yesterday for my scottish pike, and i must say i am delighted with it, lovely rings on it and a very comfy handle, it gets its first outing this saturday 🤞

    First of all..love the video's.
    You use a lot of savage gear right?SG4 POWER GAME BC in combination with the sg8 300 bc a good combo for trolling??
    I'm looking for a good trolling rod from the sg4 line for pike( all my other rods are sg4 aswell). Pretty new in the trolling world.
    Or do you recommend something else?
    Lures around 100-150 gram max.
    Hope you can help me out.

    Hello Andy, I've been having trouble finding a proper parabolic action extra heavy rod. Do you think this line of rods is pretty bendy? I ask as I want a dedicated hard swimbait rod that can throw up to 200g (some of these rods can in the larger models).

      I honestly have no idea Martin, as far as I'm aware Savage Gear rids have always been produced in China along with most other brands.
      Just out of interest, is this a key factor in your purchasing decision?

    While I like the idea of rods having another colour than black, I'm not sure goose turd green was the best choice. There looks to be a good range of rods with one glaring omission, no ultra-light or light baitcasting rods. Hope you, or IB get a pike on it soon.

    • @IBandAndyFishing
      @IBandAndyFishing  4 года назад +1

      I'm always amazed that savage and okuma (same uk distributor) haven't gone in to BFS yet, I brought it up in a meeting in 2016 but it hasn't gone anywhere - it is the obvious omission as you say!

    • @jorvikangler
      @jorvikangler 4 года назад

      @@IBandAndyFishing I'm surprised Okuma and SG haven't cottoned on. You see people using UL/L in Perch Pro and the likes, but the rods tend to be from the higher price ranges.

    Greetings from Serbia. And I almost got to SG4 40-80g, the rod is catastrophically poorly marked, it is too parabolic, it bends a lot with 22g spoons and with 30g it's just a disaster, the jig of the head feels from 11g to 20g that's ok, wobblers feel nice but all in all I am very disappointed with the stick because 4 of my pikes have already come of because the counter is catastrophically soft! While for example SG BLACK SAVAGE 20-60 is a much better stick, fast, and nicely declared! Greeting!
