They should also get ALP45DPs for the Gilroy services.

It's good to be electrifying but they need to be fully grade separated 😂

Apparently they're working on that. When I was at the train tour in San Francisco they said that Caltrain was meeting with cities along the route to plan how it will happen.

pretty sure it's cheaper to electrify then grade separate since most of the money for upgrading the rail infrastructure is going to HSR and Congress isn't willing to solely hand money to California for its rail projects and leave the rest of the country under water.
_peeeersonally,_ i say take a chunk of the money from highway projects on a federal and state level and give it to rail, and each state buy out the trackage that runs through their boarders- renting it to the perspective freights that run through. giving (hopefully) Amtrak higher priority and maybe, just maybe creating more freight lines that are local and cheaper, thus making them more competitive than the big 4. I think i started losing the forest through the trees here, but i think i also made my point.

Buses should not be stopping at Burlingame, last time I checked they are stopping at Millbrae, San Mateo, Redwood City, Menlo Park.

More wasted money the diesels were good enough. If this system ever works reliable it will surprise me. So many are leaving the Bay Area they are losing riders.

25 minutes from SF to SJ? I assume that would be with only the express services that makes minimal stops. I didn't think it would be moving that much faster than the diesel trains.

I heard locally, but I doubt 25 minutes too. Around 1.5 to 2 hours would be more realistic for a local service.

He said 25 less minutes. So basically 25 minutes faster.

@@chancey7427 Ah thanks for that correction, I misheard what he was said. A local is just over 1.5hours so 25 less minutes would make it closer to what the express train is today. I'm guessing because they can accelerate faster, so with so many stops they can get back up to speed much faster as opposed to having a higher top speed.

@@Mike__Byeah, I think it's solely an acceleration difference. I read they may be approved for higher speed later on, but at least when they first launch they will keep the current top speed.

How fast will they be going? The commuter version of the Stadler KISS usually is designed for an operation speed of 100mph max.

Lol, you mean this standard European Stadler KISS train that literally runs all over Europe? So you're saying that Europe sucks at rail?
